144 DUNGEON OUTBREAK

Raigon and Zoe immediately left the room to attend to the prisoners downstairs.

"She is a physician." Ragion explained to the royal guard who was guarding her room.

The royal guard saluted at once as he also understood the situation.

As they walk along the corridor of the floor intended for the affluent families' prisoners, Zoe contemplates about her blunders.

'Did he really believe the excuse that I said? Or is he doubting it?'

She peeked his way to check out his demeanor as he was walking beside her.

And as she did so, her eyes caught someone taking a glimpse of them from her prison cell.

"Who is that?"

Zoe narrowed her eyes so she could take a good look.

But when she saw that Zoe was trying to take a look at her, she immediately closed her window and didn't open it again.

Zoe shrugged her shoulders thinking that it was only a curious prisoner since it is not everyday that people are screaming or walking along the corridors.

She focused her attention back to Raigon, who was still frowning and massaging his temples from time to time.

'Is he still trying to remember?'

Her shoulders dropped downward as her heart was torn if she would be pleased if he did remember her or not.

Zoe shook her head to bring her back to reality. "I will just focus on my mission here on this land, help others along the way and then I will leave."

It didn't take them long before they reached the first floor of the dungeons.

To their horror, almost all prisoners are now vomiting profusely, including the royal guards that were on duty for that day.

One was already on the floor as he held his stomach. Another prisoner was trying to change his wet pants which seemed like he also had diarrhea. And then another one was already lying unconscious on the floor.

"W-what is happening here?!"

Raigon blurted out in shock at what he was seeing.

Zoe dashed to the room where the person was lying on the floor.

As they drew near him, he opened his eyes in a weak manner and extended his arm.

"H-help me."

"Let me see him, my lord!"

Zoe pleaded with the royal guard so he could open the cell and she could go inside.

The royal guard looked on Raigon as he was confused on what to do.

Raigon pulled out his tag and nodded to him, making him salute in a flash and open the lock.

Zoe bolted inside followed by Raigon.

"I'm Lady Asha and I am a physician. I will do my best to help you."

At the speed of light, she checked his pulse and noticed that it is weak and irregular. As she held his arm, she observed that they were dry and shriveled.

She pinched it and it took a while before it returned to normal. Having an idea of what is happening, she pulled down the lower lid of his eyes to look for other signs of dehydration.

Zoe was right. They looked pale and blanched. His lips are also dry and parched.

"He needs to be brought to the hospital!"

The royal guard bowed to her.

"Affirmative, milady. I will prepare a carriage for him."

He was about to take off, but Zoe made additional instructions.

"I heard it will take a while to reach the hospital. Please prepare a solution that he can sip during the trip. Please mix six teaspoons of sugar and a half teaspoon of salt in five cups of boiled water."

She then glanced at the other prisoners who seemed to be having the same problem as well.

"Please prepare the same mixture for all the prisoners here. If I'm not mistaken, the water or food here seemed to be contaminated. If you can get it from other sources, it will be better. I would like to have pieces of clean white clothes as well."

The royal guard bowed again at her so he could comply at once.

Zoe held on to the man's hand. "Do not worry. Everything will be alright."

She smiled at him reassuringly.

Raigon gazed at her as she comforted the sick prisoner before his transport.

'Certainly, she has a genuine concern for the people's health. She must have treated Adrian Liu appropriately regardless of the outcome.'

In a few minutes, the royal guards who would pick up the man came and put him on a wooden stretcher.

But before he left, he secretly gave her a piece of paper as he held her hand.

Zoe inclined her head as if telling him that she understood what he meant.

After he left, Zoe stood up and put on the white cloth as a mask so she could also check out the other prisoners.

Raigon also bid her goodbye so he could figure out the source of the current scenario. But before leaving, he requested some of the royal guards who were not sick to help her out.

"I will be back."

Zoe bobbed her head as her eyes were the only part of her body that can be seen.

And then she whispered to herself. "I know."

She quickly checked on the other prisoners and royal guards who were affected. They were all suffering the same symptoms.

She asked the royal guards if they could help her put them to bed and have a basin nearby in case they have an urge to vomit again.

Meanwhile, Raigon went to the dungeon's kitchen and asked about the details.

"Have this happened before?"

"No, your Highness. This is the first time."

"I need all the information where you get your food and water supplies for fourteen days until now."

"Yes, your Highness."

"Can anyone come with me with spoons and cups?"

The servants immediately complied as they quickly searched for what His Highness was asking.

He then grabbed the jar of mixture that Zoe asked them to prepare and brought it back to Zoe himself.

Zoe was now rubbing another prisoner's back as he vomited copiously.

At the speed of light, Raigon snatched an empty cup, poured a mixture and gave it to Zoe.
