135 GOING TO PRISON

'Why does Lady Dolores know about my mother's necklace? And why is she warning me against the royal family?!'

Zoe thought to herself as she followed Raigon and Azra outside the house.

She wanted to dig in deeper but Azra was already guiding her outside.

Nevertheless, she already knew Liu's residence.

'I will surely come back.'

She uttered under her breath as she gave Liu's residence a last glance.

If her hunch was right and she had a connection with her mother before, then she would have an idea how they died or if she is still living.

She was lost in deep thoughts when finally she looked forward to where she was heading.

To her surprise, Vigo was still there and seemed to be waiting for them.

Azra was nearest her so she tried to ask more about him so she knows what she is getting into.

"Who is Lord Vigo?"

Azra answered her politely before they reached the two colossal men.

"He is the Crown Prince's cousin, the son of Duke Andras, who is the brother of the King."

Zoe nodded her head at the received information.

She made a bow as soon as she reached their location.

Vigo was leaning on the gates and crossing his arms.

But he stood formally when Raigon, Azra and her passed by.

Raigon stopped and placed his feet at a wide stance.

"Why are you still here, Lord Vigo?"

He muttered in a low-pitched and resonant voice.

With his voice, it was obvious that he was not happy to see his cousin again.

Vigo bowed down to him in apology.

But his words contradicted his actions.

"I just want to be certain that you will indeed take our beautiful but peculiar physician to the dungeons as you said."

He smirked as he gazed at Zoe intently.

Zoe inclined her head downward as she was uncomfortable with Vigo's menacing stare.

'He just wouldn't give up, isn't he?'

"I know you wouldn't let your reputation be tarnished because of her and thereby lose your crown. Especially after the royal guards have seen you with her. You cannot let them think that you are protecting an intruder now won't you? Our King will surely be disappointed."

He added as he now stared at Raigon face to face.

Zoe took a glimpse at both of them.

With their height and stance, she wondered how they could keep their royalty hidden in this common place.

'It's just bad that they were fighting like this when they are blood related.'

Raigon's eyes tightened as he tilted his head, making him taller than Vigo than usual.

"Nothing has been proven yet."

"And what if it is true? She is too alluring for a Gao and her skills are different from ours."

As Vigo said that, Zoe clamped her lips to prevent them from seeing them tremble.

Raigon looked downward and shuffled his feet.

He was pondering about it too. And he just promised his father to protect their land at all cost.

Seeing a glimpse of victory in giving doubts to Raigon's plan, he offered him a solution.

"I know you are a compassionate and merciful man and could not bring a lady to a prison cell. So you could just give me the girl and let me handle her."

Raigon grabbed Zoe's hands and pulled her behind him to Zoe's surprise.

"I will put her there myself."

Zoe quickly looked up at Raigon's serious face.

'Is he really intending to do that?'

She drew in a deep breath and concluded.

'It is the right thing to do as a Crown Prince. I would also do that if I am in his shoes.'

Vigo extended his arm with his palms facing upward as he made a coy bow.

"Suit yourself, your Highness."

This is a win-win situation for him.

If he would choose her, he would lose the faith of the people.

If he would choose the people, he would lose her.

'And she would be mine.'

She gazed at Lady Asha who was peeking at him from behind Raigon.

"Do not worry, milady. I will certainly give you some of my most precious time to accompany you while you were there."

He winked at her, thinking that she would appreciate his remarks.

But Zoe pulled away from Raigon and made a curtsy bow.

"There's no need, Lord Vigo. I will not stay there for long. Lord Adrian will wake up anytime soon."

Her response made Raigon smirk, which irritated Vigo all the more.

"That's splendid! It is better to visit you in your residence than in the cell."

Vigo retorted back as he crossed his arms.

Zoe and Azra both made a quick glance at him.

'He cannot go to the old cabin!'

They chorused together in their thoughts.

Raigon butted in and finished the conversation.

"If that is all then we'll be off. I am sure you have other important things to do, Lord Vigo."

Vigo bowed at the Crown Prince and made a last wink at Zoe.

Zoe wanted to wriggle in dismay at him, but she acted otherwise.

She made a bow to him in respect until he left.

Zoe waited for him to make a wide distance before she made an exaggerated breath.

'He is like the villain in this fantasy land. I must be wary with him.'

Both Azra and Raigon were now fixing their horses for take off when Zoe noticed someone peeking from behind a tree.

She narrowed her eyes to check on who she was.

"Erin!"

'That silly woman! Why didn't she return to the forest at once?!"

She surveyed the area if there were royal guards in sight.

After she confirmed that it was safe, she made a quick wave of her hand.

"Go go go!"

Then she pointed at herself and made an okay sign like she was saying "I'm good."

But Erin seemed to have other thoughts in mind.

She also fluttered her hand. But this time it was towards her. Then she lifted up her skirt and showed her scurrying feet.

It was as if she was saying. "Come with me and let's run away from here."
