130 A REAL PHYSICIAN

Knock! Knock! Knock!

"What shall we do now?!"

Erin uttered in panic as she scuttled around the room looking for a place to hide.

Zoe also searched for an escape route.

'Whoever the people are outside the door, they must not know about our identity!'

Fortunately, there is a small window in Adrian's room where they could sneak out.

She quickly called Erin and shoved her into the window.

"How about you?"

Erin asked her before she stuck her head outside the house.

Zoe glanced back at Adrian.

He was lying peacefully in the bed. But she knew she must give instructions to the family so he could recover well.

If not, his life will still be in jeopardy.

"I have to instruct the family for post operative care."

Knock! Knock! Knock!

"Open the door or we will barge in!"

Zoe and Erin both glanced at the door in terror.

Raigon and Azra drew their swords and ready themselves for attack.

"You're still thinking about them? They are the ones who reported you when you were just saving their family member. The nerves!"

Erin exclaimed as she stood frozen at the window.

Zoe pushed her back again so that she could escape.

"I did not do this for appreciation. It's enough for me to know that I helped this man escape death. The thing that I cannot do for my own family."

This did not escape Raigon's attention.

He was still contemplating if he will allow the two ladies to escape. They may be one of the intruders on the land.

However, they have been sincere all throughout the course of operation and even until now that they are just a few seconds to being imprisoned.

Once the royal guards knew that they were different from them, they would surely order their execution at once.

He made a decision as he gave an order to Azra.

"Azra, keep the ladies' instruments in the Hebao and keep it for me."

"Yes, my lord!"

Azra immediately picked up Zoe's scalpel and syringes and covered them with a cloth before putting them back to the hebao.

He at once hid it under his outer garment.

On the other side of the room, Erin and Zoe are still having an argument.

"Come with me, Zoe! They could kill you if they find out that you're not a Terran!"

"If both of us will disappear, they will hunt us both down. I must take responsibility for this. I will not let you get hurt because of me."

Zoe explained to Erin, but more so to herself, for making a reckless decision such as this.

"But-"

Erin still wanted to stay. However, Zoe is more determined than her.

"Hurry, they might open the door any second now!"

"Promise me, you'll stay alive!"

"Of course, I'm a Survivor Queen." Zoe winked at her.

Her last words calmed Erin. She nodded as she creeped outside through the window in Adrian's room.

"At the count of three…. 1, 2, 3!"

As soon as the people outside shouted the last warning, Erin's foot slipped through the window.

In a fraction of a second, Zoe ran to Adrian's side and put back her mask.

Meanwhile, Azra opened the door at the order of Raigon at the speed of light.

This made the royal guards tumble forward as they were about to force their way through.

As they were fixing themselves to stand up, Raigon motioned Azra with a look to hide his sword.

Azra immediately complied.

Zeo was about to speak up when Raigon admonished the guards.

"What is the meaning of this? We are treating a patient here!"

He bellowed using his authoritative voice.

His face was still in a mask so the royal guard didn't recognize him.

Still the guards bowed to them and explained their actions.

"We have been told that there are strange people in this room. And they are possibly not from Terra.

"Do you see strange people now?"

They surveyed the three fellows from head to foot.

They don't seem strange as the two were wearing physician's robes. And the lady was probably a nurse.

The royal guards peeked back at the masters of the house.

Lady Liu just went out to buy some medicine that Zoe prescribed.

Fortunately, Zoe studied some herbal medicine before and these can be found in the land of Terra.

However, the only master of the house right now is the grandmother, Lady Dolores, who seemed to itch against Zoe.

"Yes!" She blurted out. "I am the one who reported this incident. This crazy woman was about to kill my grandson! Look at the hammer and chisels beside her! And… And… look at my grandson! Oh, Adrian!"

She ran to his side as he saw his head covered in white cloth.

"She must have murdered him by now!"

Lady Dolores quickly opened her head to check the fatal wound that Zoe had created on him. But to her surprise, it was cleanly stitched and no blood could be seen from it.

She glanced at Zoe who bowed down to her.

"Please change this dressing every hour to prevent infection. It will take days for him to wake up as his body still needs to recover. As soon as he wakes up, please give him his medicine every four hours. I already asked Lady Liu to get them. He can return to his normal day to day living after a week or two."

Lady Dolores was speechless at Zoe's instructions.

'She seemed to know what she was talking about.'

She gazed at her grandson who was sleeping peacefully like resting his head on a poor man's pillow.

"B-but what if he doesn't wake up?"

She voiced her doubts in an infuriating tone.

"Will you take responsibility for it?"

All eyes went to Zoe, including Raigon.

She was about to respond when Raigon interrupted.

"I don't think that is necessary, Madam. This lady physician has done her best in treating your son. I can witness to that with my own two eyes."

Zoe gazed at Raigon. 'Why do I think you're still protecting me even if you can't remember me?'
