106 THE TRIPLE X
"I couldn't believe Savannah would still remain in the Tasmans!"
Kristie blurted out loud.
The tribal council was just finished and the castaways that were left included Savannah and Enzo.
"She must have bribed them, as they did to us," Nella commented.
"Why does she do that anyway? She doesn't need anything in this competition. She has money, she can stay on any island if she wants to. She has also won a lot of beauty pageant competitions already."
Zoe asked out of curiosity. She hates her to her bone marrows.
But she admitted that Savannah has everything she could ever want.
That's why it puzzles her to see her striving for more.
"I mean, what is provoking her?"
"It's because of her parents."
Anika answered for her.
"They would always challenge her to do better. And they would scold her if she was not the best. Her dad would even sometimes hit her if they learned that she wasn't the first."
"Oh."
Zoe was taken back as she heard her story.
She didn't know then. And now that it was her friend who told her that, for sure it was undeniably true.
Zoe glanced at Savannah, who was flirting around Enzo.
'Maybe that's the reason why she took everything from me.'
Zoe was always the top then. She always got the highest grades. She was always chosen as the muse for their sports events.
Her parents donate the largest amount to their school's foundation.
'Now I wonder if she befriended me then because of that. Or she was a true friend from the start and envy just ate her heart up.'
Her disturbing thoughts were cleared by Erin's loud booming voice as she updated everyone with the latest happenings on the reunion event.
"As of now, five of the castaways from the Tasman Tribe have already left the challenge. There were only five left of the Tasmans while the Norfolks had eight. Lei was injured and Lily has to go back to Singapore."
"Since we have differences with the number of participants. We will now have our second twist of the game."
"Second twist?" Kristie repeated after her. "What could it be?"
She thought out loud, which is also the same thought that was on the mind of every castaway.
"We also have people with us who traveled a long way to make this happen. And we would not let their efforts go to waste. Before we start on our next challenge, you will have three additional castaways, Tasmans, which will make up for your lack."
Everyone's eyes grew wide open as they waited what Erin would say next.
"Please welcome Mr. Qigang and Mr. Fu, Tasmans!"
The Tasmans clapped their hands and cheered for them. Some were enthusiastic as they were also close to Mr. Fu.
And some were not. That includes Savannah.
"Oh my, we have old people in the house." She muttered and rolled her eyes.
"You never know what these old people could do," Mr. Fu gleamed behind his eyeglasses.
Mr. Qigang just cleared his throat. He could not say anything against Savannah. As of now, her parents were the top donators in their school.
They have also given gifts to him to make her always number one in the class then. That was after Zoe's parents died.
"Who's the third one, Ms. Event Coordinator?"
Kristie raised her hand in an inquiry.
Zoe looked around but there were no signs of Raigon.
'Could something bad happen in Terra?'
She recalled that the reason why Raigon left the City is because of negotiations happening which could disturb their peace.
'Have they found the culprit? Or have they found out that Raigon was sneaking outside also?!'
Zoe shut her eyes tightly and prayed that it was not the latter.
Erin didn't let them think so hard as she answered abruptly.
"Mr. Gao has just come back. He is just fixing himself. But he will soon join us."
Zoe opened her eyes. "That was a quick one! Thank you, God!"
She bowed her head repeatedly with her palms facing each other.
"Yey! Mr. Gao's back!" Kristie shouted in glee.
But just in a fraction of a second, her shoulders drooped at once.
"He was not with us though. Why did he become our enemy now?" Kristie scowled.
As if speaking of the devil, Raigon appeared in the scene. And his face could not be explained.
It was very different from the Raigon that she knew.
"Tasmans, please welcome Mr. Gao!" Erin announced.
The Tasmans clapped their hands more loudly than they did for Mr. Qigang and Mr. Fu.
"Now I think that's fair and square," Savannah raised her eyebrows at Zoe as she went beside Mr. Gao and offered her hand.
"Welcome to the team, Mr. Gao."
She gave him her sweetest smile.
But Raigon's expression was bland and lifeless. Still, he shook her hand with respect to her.
Erin continued on orienting everyone with the changes in the game.
"Of course, this will not be complete without a tribal council. So to fill up that vacancy, we will have….."
"The Tasmans that you just voted out! And they will now be called the Triple X. They will judge who the winner will be in every set." Erin beamed at them.
"Oh no!" The Tasmans muttered.
"Let's just hope they won't take their revenge on us," Enzo commented.
The three appeared with grim faces as they cracked their knuckles while glaring at their fellow Tasmans.
"Wow, so many changes. This is indeed an enjoyable challenge. Thanks, Erin! I really enjoyed this sweet escape. It is worth it!" Clay sniggered.
"Are you ready for the next challenge now?" Erin hooted.
"Let's get it on!" All the castaways shook their fist in the air.
Except for Raigon and Zoe.
Raigon gave her a quick glance, but his eyes immediately darted away.
'What could have happened there?' Zoe furrowed her eyebrows.
He was cold and indifferent. And he went straight to the Tasmans without even looking at the Norfolks.
She was not angry, but rather more concerned.
