84 EYE CATCH

"I don't know," He secretly heard Zoe answer Kristie. She was teasing Zoe and asking her if she was disappointed that he didn't do anything while they were alone.

He instantly recalled how he used every possible inch of his strength and mind-control to stop himself from passionately kissing her right then and there.

'Should I have not controlled myself then? Should I just allow my pent-up desire for her to have its way?' He contemplated as he was now puzzled by Zoe's conflicting reaction towards his actions earlier.

In his conscious mind, he wanted to respect her and win her trust first more than his selfish desire. Although he didn't know long he could hold it. He is still a man after all.

He gazed thoughtfully at her while she was talking candidly to Kristie. At one point, she looked back and seemed to be searching diligently for someone. As soon as their inquisitive eyes met, they twinkled merrily and her lovely lips instantly gave him a warm smile.

His puzzled reaction vanished in a flash as her amiable response to him made him mellow inside.

'Should I just ask her next time?' He asked himself as he thoughtfully rubbed his prominent chin. He didn't know how to put himself with a woman that he likes, since he hasn't allowed himself to be with one ever since. The only women that he allowed near him were his mother and sisters. And his relationship with them was different.

"Hello, Mr. Gao," One of the Norfolks Tribe cordially greeted him as he was thinking of what to do with Zoe.

Raigon blinked his anxious eyes and glanced at her. He was not aware that he was in the Norfolks group as he was busy reasoning with himself.

"Hi," He gave her a smug smile as he greeted her back. He looked at her closely and noticed that she was one of those who were confusing Zoe during the game. His eyebrows knitted together.

"I'm Nella. And I just want to say that we're graciously pleased that you were with us, even with just this short trip." She said as she bowed respectfully to him.

Raigon gazed wistfully at her. 'Was she being sincere? Or is this a part of their superficial show?' He stared at her from head to foot. She is not the kind who would make your head turn around, but she has her own beauty in her own style.

By the way she was expressing herself, she seemed sincere in expressing her personal gratitude for his personal presence. Because of that, he also gave her a genuine smile. "Pleasure's mine."

Afterward, his puzzled eyes searched again for Zoe. This point in time, when their eyes met, hers was narrow and brooding. She even rolled them as she looked away.

'What did I just do?' He scrunched his forehead and crossed his mighty arms.

"Mr. Gao, do you know how to fish?" Nella politely asked him while his glittering eyes were still on Zoe. She was now walking away while stomping her dainty feet.

"Yes, milady," He unconsciously answered while pondering and gently scratching his noble head.

"Can you help me out? This is my first time," Nella grinned at him while giving him the fishing rod and the other equipment that they typically need for fishing.

He sneaked a look again at Zoe who was now already a distance away from them. "Certainly, milady," He answered Nella as he scurried as fast as he could so Zoe could not stay far from him.

"Wait, Mr. Gao!" Nella called on behind him. He was tall and his pacing was a bit fast for her. Still, he didn't slow down a possible bit until he came close to Zoe. But as he was nearing her, his previous fast footsteps drudged into heavy ones as he instantly saw that someone else already offered to assist her.

He promptly stopped beside them. "This is where we would fish." He wittily said to Nella, loud enough for the people beside them to undoubtedly hear.

"Oh, hello Mr. Gao. Hello, Nella," Koby bowed courteously to them. "It seems that we both have a good eye for a good catch." His gleaming eyes stayed on Raigon for a few meaningful minutes before glancing at Nella.

Raigon narrowed his fierce eyes at him. He reasonably knew he was not talking about the fish.

"I think so too. Am I right, Zoe?" Nella butted in the fierce heat of the two leading men and mutually agreed with Koby as she included Zoe in their group conversation.

The three peered at Zoe who was busy checking the considerable length of the fishing rod as she carefully stacked it beside her. It was smaller than her.

"Can I see yours?" She asked nonchalantly at Nella.

Nella smiled gently and generously offered her fishing rod to her.

Zoe casually took it and accurately measured it again. It was now at the same height as hers.

"Can I have it? Zoe naturally asked her as if they were the only people there.

Nella glanced furtively at Raigon before responding to Zoe.

Sensing her nervous apprehension, Zoe explained herself. "You can catch better if your flexible rod is the same length as yours. Your rod is longer than you, so it will not benefit you at all." She then offered her fishing rod in exchange for hers.

Nella finally obliged, feeling assured that Zoe was not planning anything against her.

"Where did you learn that?" Both Raigon and Koby stared wonderingly at Zoe with wide-eyes disbelief.

Zoe smirked. "Does it matter? What matters is I know how to do this. And I don't need anyone's help." She answered them in a polite and friendly tone.

"And besides," She added. "You just don't need a good eye in order to have a good catch. But a good heart as well. And I preferred the latter." She drew in a deep breath before picking up her things and take off.

"What's with her?" Raigon and Koby chorused again and scratched their head at the same time. Seeing that they were imitating each other, both grunted in evident irritation.

"I think Mr. Koby here can help you since he has a good eye with these things, as both of you said." He politely said, emphasizing the word 'good eye' before running off after Zoe.

"Hold on!" Nella shouted behind him, but he seemed deafened by his desire to comfort Zoe from whatever is making her upset.
