79 TRUTH OR DARE 1
"I haven't set one up either. But I fondly remember my dear parents did that for me when I was young," Zoe ran on sounding more and more emotional as she finished her sentence.
She continued on as she made sure the tent was positioned carefully. Raigon carried on shoveling the gleaming sand out of the created holes that Zoe instructed him to dig. But his keen eyes remained on Zoe.
He passively watched her and listened silently as she shared the good memories that she gratefully remembered with her beloved parents.
"You see, they didn't always have time for me. Don't get me wrong. I absolutely understand them. They needed to take care of our flourishing business and the patients that entrusted their health and wellness with them." She proceeded on.
"So I was really happy when they spent a day just being with me on a remote island like this and went camping as a family. But I should've not expected for that much," She heaved out a deep sigh as she pulled out the plastic trash bags from Raigon's loaded backpack and tried to stack one with sand.
Raigon helped her out as soon as he finished digging all the visible holes. "What do you mean?" He questioned curiously. He was glad that Zoe was sharing her past with him, even though it seemed to be a tragic one.
He indeed wanted to get to know more about what happened to her then. They didn't have enough moments then because they were busy hiding from the eyes of his people.
"That was the last time I saw them," Zoe blew out.
Raigon stopped in his tracks. Was she talking about the instant when she was on the Ball's Pyramid and was lost on the City of Terra?
"What happened to them, if you don't mind?" He inquired her so he could positively confirm it. His skin went pale, and his previously warm hand went cold.
"I don't usually talk about it. But there's just something on this lovely island that makes me candidly confess everything to people around here," Zoe chuckled as she sniffed, fighting her sentimental tears away.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked," Raigon apologized. He grabbed the plastic trash bag that Zoe was holding and stuffed it up for her instead.
"Try to add some water, so it will be heavier. Your tent will be sturdier against the winds later on," She added as she watched him heaped the bags full to the brim and was about to tie it up.
Raigon nodded and dampened the pristine sand with adequate water before he closed it. His thin lips curved upward. It was indeed heavier than before.
'She's so simple and yet very knowledgeable in a lot of extraordinary things.' He gazed at her in enthusiastic admiration as she scooped up dazzling sand to cram up another bag.
"It's okay actually, as long as you do the same thing in return." Zoe faced him, coming up with a decision whether to tell her life story or not.
Raigon looked at her in eager curiosity. "What do you want me to do?"
"Tell me about your story," Zoe beamed at him as she gently threw two plastic trash bags at him to pile up.
"What do you want to know?" He queried her nervously.
"Everything. From where you live, what you do and why do you keep your identity in secret?" She leaned down and put her face near his as she answered him in a serious tone.
Raigon gulped. She knew all along. 'Is this the right spot for her to know what really happened? Can she handle it?' Raigon's prominent forehead was profusely sweating, opposite from the low temperature of his body which was colder than the sea breeze at the moment.
"I know! We could play truth or dare!" Zoe snapped her nimble finger in a flash.
"What's that?" Raigon scratched his noble head.
"You don't know it? Where in the world do you live? Come on, let's finish this quickly!" Zoe grabbed his brawny arm and encouraged him to load up the trash bags with all possible haste. She tried to explain the standard mechanics of the game as they did so.
"We will spin an empty bottle. Whoever the mouth of the bottle points when it stops spinning can choose between truth or dare. If you choose the truth, I will grill a question and you must answer me with all honesty."
"And if I choose to dare?" He interrogated her with narrow eyes.
"I can demand you to do anything, and you must do it." Zoe grinned at her and flashed her sparkling set of white teeth.
A corner of Raigon's sensuous lip curved upward. 'I like that,' he thought to himself.
Maybe this is really the right point for him to open up the situation to her. And he also likes the idea of daring her to do something that he would roast her to do.
"That sounds fun. Come on, let's do it," He grabbed Zoe's arm and pulled her inside the tent."
Zoe's eyes and lips widened in surprise at Raigon's sudden move. "Wait, we don't have a bottle!"
But she was too late. They were already inside the tent, and Raigon has already zipped it close.
He looked for the precious bottle inside his bag.
"Here it is!" He blurted as he pulled it out. "Erin gave it to me a while ago while we were on the set-up stage." He grinned at her.
Zoe seemed to be awkward, but she smiled as she saw the bottle. She narrowed her glittering eyes as she commanded, "Give it to me."
Then she sat and crossed her shapely legs. She motioned Raigon to do so as she used her dainty hand and made a tapping motion. "Come here."
Raigon chuckled. "Yes, your Majesty."
Zoe put the bottle on the ground and held it in her deft hand. "Are you ready?" She go over Raigon before she spun it.
"I can't wait," He winked and gave her a sly smile.
"1, 2, 3," Zoe spun the bottle.
