Saori did not come to wake me up today, which was unusual.

She had been waking me up every day recently.

I got worried and was now in front of Saori’s house.

Of course, I tried to call her before I left home, but she never answered.

She wasn’t reading any of my LINE messages either.

It would be too suspicious to stand outside someone’s house the whole day, so I decided to go inside.

Saori and I were permitted to enter each other’s homes freely.

It was a privilege as a childhood friend.

“Excuse me, is Saori here?”

I entered Saori’s house and called out for her in a slightly louder voice.

“Ah, Amane-kun, are you here to pick up Saori by any chance?”

Saori’s mother greeted me.

She was also someone who had been a great help to me for a long time.

“Yes, what happened to Saori?”

“Something…seems to have happened…”

Saori’s mother said with a serious face

If something happened to Saori… if that’s the case…

“Um…! Can I go to Saori’s room?”

“Yes, of course.”

As soon as I got the OK from Saori’s mother, I went to Saori’s room and knocked on the door.

“Saori! What’s wrong? Is something wrong?”

“You can’t come here!! Absolutely not! I’m not going to school today, so go ahead!”

I said that and opened the door to Saori’s room.
