Chapter 58 - Mason's Back With A Vengeance - Part 1.

Natalia's P.O.V.

"Are you ready to go, baby?"

"No"

I muffled because my face is currently buried deep in a pillow.

"Come on baby, we have to go"

"No we don't, that's why we have second in commands, Cole"

My asshole husband laughed as he climbed on the bed next to me, he moved my hair out of my neck and started to kiss and suck on my mark.

"Urgh!!, you're not playing fair, Mr Vasquez"

"And you're acting like a child, Mrs Vasquez"

He huskily said in my ear.

"Asshole"

"Ouch!!"

I turned to glare at Cole after he harshly smacked my ass.

"I heard what you said"

"You were supposed to idiota, I said it through our mate link"

He glared at me and I bit my lower lip at how sexy he looked.

"Carry on giving me lip Nattie and I'll smack your bare ass next time and it won't just be the once"

Whatever.

Coles phone starts ringing and I turn over to lay on my back.

"f**k, mate looks sexy today"

"What are you talking about, Lucky? Cole looks sexy every day"

"Especially the past few days"

Huh.

"But Cole was barely dressed during the past few...aahhh!!, I get you now you dirty wolf"

"Well, I'm your wolf so if the cap fits, wear it"

"Cheeky bitch"

Lucky wasn't wrong though, Cole does look sexy as f**k, especially in that t-shirt, oh my, I love it when he wears clothes that make his muscles bulge.

I get up off the bed and put my shoes on before going over to the mirror to make sure that I look appropriate, this is the first time everyone will be seeing me as their Luna since the wedding and I don't wanna look like a disgrace.

After making sure I looked perfect, I scanned around the room to make sure that we've got everything before sitting back on the bed waiting for Cole to come out.

I was waiting for around ten minutes and was starting to get bored so I grabbed my phone out of my bag and turned it on, whilst I was waiting for it to load up, I was startled by Cole who burst back in the room looking angry, worried and panicked.

"Babe, are you ok?"

"We need to go, NOW!!"

"Ok but what's wrong?"

"Don't fight me on this Natalia, we're going home now"

Did I not just say ok to him?.

"I know but what's going on? who was on the phone?"

Cole didn't answer me, instead, he picked up our bags with one hand and roughly grabbed hold of my hand with the other before dragging me out of the room and house.

"Cole, what the f**k? you're hurting me"

I tried to release his grip from my hand whilst trying to find out what's going on but it was like talking to a brick wall.

When we got to his truck, Cole practically pushed me into the front seat and threw our bags in the back seat before getting in and driving off, Cole didn't even put his seatbelt on that's how angry and on edge he is.

"Ask him what's wrong?"

"Shut up, Lucky"

"Just ask him"

"Why don't you ask Ace? I'm not poking an angry bear"

"Don't you mean an angry wolf"

URRRRRGH!!.

The car ride home was silent and I was desperate to ask him what's going on but every time I went to ask him, the words got stuck in my throat.

I was looking out of the window as I rubbed my sore wrist when I felt a warm hand on mine, I turn to look at Cole who looked a lot calmer, he was still angry and stressed out but now he looked guilty.

"I'm sorry baby, are you ok?"

"I'm fine"

I placed my free hand on top of his and looked back out of the window whilst sighing in relief.

"Are you gonna tell me what got you so angry?"

His grip once again tightened on my hand but not enough to hurt me.

"I don't know how to tell you, babe"

"Well, normally people start at the beginning"

I didn't want to anger him again but I was starting to get annoyed myself and I wanted to know who or what has made my mate so mad.

"I..it's pretty bad, babe"

"Just tell me, Cole, for f***s sake"

I was pissed off now and if he didn't tell me verbally then I was gonna be forced to do something I really didn't want to do which was read his thoughts.

When he didn't answer me, I was preparing myself to read what he's thinking when he said something to me which had my heart in my throat and caused panic and fear to fill my entire body.

"It's Max and Charlotte, babe"

"Wh..what? I erm....wh..what do you mean?"

Cole looked at me with a mixture of emotions on his face.

"Mason's kidnapped them"

Oh goddess no....no, no, no, no, no.

"Baby, please don't panic ok, we're gonna find them and we're gonna bring them home"

"Oh my god this is my fault, this is my fault"

"What? no, it's not babe, how do you work that out?"

"Because Mason wants me"

I broke down in tears covering my mouth with my hand.

"Mason wants me Cole and he's not gonna stop coming after us and hurting the people I love until he's got me"

"I know baby but please remain calm"

Is he for real?.

"How can I stay calm, Cole? two kids I love have been taken by that psycho because of me"

"And we're gonna find them, I promise you"

I let out a breath as I run a hand through my hair, my heart was breaking at the thought of those two innocent kids being in danger.

I then remembered something from yesterday morning and I decided to quiz Cole on it.

"Has anything else happened since we've been gone?"

"No"

He answered straight away looking very shifty.

"Don't lie to me Cole, tell me what else has happened"

Cole didn't answer me at first but when he did, I felt like a terrible human being and my guilt got worse.

"Ok fine...Angelo found another mutilated man on our territory the night of our wedding"

What?.

"Are you being serious?"

"Of course I am, I wouldn't lie about something like that"

Cole growled sounding very offended by my question.

"I know babe, it's just...I can't believe this, another innocent wolf is dead"

"Well, we don't know anything about this wolf yet Nat, there was no note left with this body so, for all we know he could just be a rogue who isn't as innocent as you may think"

I looked over at Cole with an are you being serious? look.

"He was still a werewolf Cole, it doesn't matter if he's a rogue or not or whether he was a good or bad person, he was still a werewolf, he didn't deserve to die because of my sick bastard uncles obsession with me"

"I know that babe, I just don't want you blaming yourself for somebody who probably doesn't even deserve your guilt or your precious tears"

"Are you purposefully trying to be a d**k right now?"

"What? no, of course not"

"Whatever"

I push his hand away from me and look out of the window, I can't believe how much of an insensitive asshole he's being right now.

"Baby, please don't be like this"

He tried to reach for my hand again but I moved it away from his reach.

"I'm sorry Natalia, I didn't mean to sound so heartless, it's just that we don't know anything about who this guy is and I'm not gonna sit here and be nice when my f*****g wife is crying tears over him when he could be just the same as Mason"

"And what if he's not? what if he's like the last guy who was murdered because of me....what if he's someone's dad? someone's mate? what if he's a member of our pack or someone elses?...he could have a family out there Cole who are waiting for him to come home and are probably scared out of their minds and hurting because they don't know where he is and whilst they're suffering....whilst that poor man was suffering, I was off f*****g you anywhere and everywhere like some f*****g b..bitch in f..fucking h..heat"

I could feel a panic attack coming on and I know that Cole had noticed as well because he muttered f**k under his breath as he pulled his truck over on the side of the road.

I placed my hand on my chest and tried to take several deep breaths but I was finding it hard to calm down.

After parking his truck on the side of the road, Cole quickly got out and came around to my side, he then opened my door and turned me to face him.

"Baby, calm down and take slow deep breaths"

I did as he said and after a little while, I was able to calm myself down and my heartbeat went back to normal, I placed my head on the headrest and looked down at my lap, I couldn't look up at Cole but I could feel his intense gaze on me.

"Baby"

He cupped my face and I looked up at him.

Cole looked down at me with a lot of worry and concern in his eyes for me which made me feel even more guilty.

"None of this is your fault, Nat"

I let out a sigh.

"You can say that all you want Cole, it doesn't mean it's true"

"Actually it is true babe, there's only one person who is at fault here and it's not you, it's Mason"

"Yer because of his sick obsession with me and being king"

I looked back down at my lap as fresh tears filled my eyes.

"Two men are dead, two men nearly died....my nephew and niece have been kidnapped....how can you say it's not my fault, Cole?"

"Because it's not"

He growled from anger and annoyance.

I look up into his worry-filled eyes which were already staring at me intently.

"Then why do I feel so guilty?...if it's not my fault...why do I feel so guilty?"

Cole gently caressed my cheek with his thumb whilst wiping away the stray tears that had fallen.

"Because you're a good-hearted woman Natalia, you always have been and that's why you feel this way but I promise you mi amor, you shouldn't feel any guilt or blame over any of this because none of it is your fault"

I wipe my tears away as I look away from my mate.

"This isn't fair, Cole....it's cruel and I can't help but feel guilty"

"I know babe, I know...come here"

He holds his arms out for me and I wasted no time in stepping out of the car and into Coles embrace.

Cole wrapped his arms around me tightly and kissed my head.

"Please stop blaming yourself, mi amor, it's not your fault"

"But..."

"No Nat, I mean it, stop blaming yourself"

"But..."

"Natalia"

Cole sighed and I decided to just shut up, he's not gonna listen to me anyway and he's gonna continue to insist that I'm blameless in everything that's going on so, what's the point in arguing with him?.

"Nattie"

He cupped my chin and raised my head to face him.

"I promise you babe, the only person who is at fault is Mason and I swear on my life, I'm gonna do everything I can to find him and kill him before he hurts anybody else including you"

"But he's got Max and Charlotte....you saw what he did to those men Cole, what's to stop him from doing that to them?"

"Because he wants you, he's just doing this to get a reaction out of you because he knows you would willingly give yourself up to him to save those kids....he's not gonna hurt them"

I let out a breath and close my eyes for a few seconds before opening them again and looking at Cole.

"So, what do we do, Cole?....we need to stop him now, I don't want him hurting anybody else"

"And we will stop him, babe, I promise"

He leans in and places a lingering kiss on my forehead before placing his forehead against mine and looking down at me.

"Do you trust me, Natalia?"

"Of course I do, what kind of stupid question is that?"

He chuckled as I looked at him annoyed, why would he ask me a question like that?.

"Then trust me ok, if not as your husband then as your alpha....Mason's gonna die and I'll be the one to f*****g kill him, nobody messes with my wife and gets away with it"

I let out a sigh feeling slightly better, I know that Cole is a man of his word and if he says that Mason is gonna die then trust me...Mason is going to die.

"Now let's get home so that we can find a way to bring those babies home and kill Mason"

"Ok...I love you, Cole"

"I love you too, baby"

He leans down and kisses me.

We both then get back in the truck making sure to put our seatbelts on this time, Cole then drives us back to our mansion whilst keeping a firm grip on my hand the entire way there.

Less Than One Hour Later...

We finally arrived home and the first thing I noticed as soon as Cole pulled up was how calm and relaxing everywhere is but I just knew that chaos and stress was erupting in my beautiful home and my family are no doubt all over the place emotionally.

After getting out of the truck, myself and Cole head inside and are instantly met with loud angry voices that I recognise as my daddys and Nathans.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO, DAD? HUH, I CAN'T JUST SIT AROUND DOING NOTHING WHILST THAT BASTARD HAS GOT MY SON!!"

"I KNOW NATHAN, TRUST ME, I KNOW BUT I CAN'T LET YOU JUST GO OUT THERE HALF c****d WITH NO PLANS AND NO BACK-UP!!"

"I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANY OF THAT DAD, I JUST WANT MY SON HOME SAFE AND SOUND!!"

My daddy and Nate continued to argue and I knew that neither one of them were gonna back down any time soon considering they're both alphas, they're both royals and most importantly they're both either king or a future king which only amplifies their pride, dignity and stubbornness.

Cole and I walk into the living area and I immediately noticed that only a few people were here, my father and Nate were obviously here arguing with each other, my mother was consoling a very distraught Amy whilst Emily was consoling Rachel who was cradling baby Miliana close to her chest and from quickly looking at my sister in law, I could tell that she's barely slept and her eyes are bright red and swollen.

"You're back"

I hear Emily say and everyone instantly turned to look at us.

I looked over at Nathan who I really wanted to embrace and assure him that we would find Max but I was halted when I saw the state he was in, much like Rachel, his eyes are bright red and swollen and his face is holding quite a lot of anger and rage which I wasn't sure if it was aimed at me or not so just to be sure, I decided to stay where I am.

"YOU f*****g BITCH!!, THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!"

I snapped my head to Amy who flew into a rage and made her way over to me.

"Amy, I'm sorry, I really am..."

SLAP!!.

"AMY!!"

Alpha Jay shouts as he enters the room just as I hold my now red and painful cheek.

"LET ME f*****g GO, JAMES!!"

"NO, NOW CALM DOWN!!"

"CALM DOWN!!...CALM f*****g DOWN!!, HOW CAN I CALM DOWN, JAMES? WHEN MY BABY IS OUT THERE SCARED AND DEFENSELESS AND ALL BECAUSE SOME PSYCHO WANTS THAT f*****g BITCH!!"

Amy growls whilst trying to get out of alpha Jays clutches but he wasn't letting go, if anything he tightened his grip on her.

"ENOUGH!!"

Cole growls as he wraps his arm around my shoulders.

"Are you ok, baby?"

"I'm fine"

I whimpered as Cole turned his attention from me to Amy and from the look on his face, I knew he was pissed but he was trying not to express it.

"Look Amy, I understand you're hurting right now and you're going through something that I hope to never ever experience but I'm warning you, if you ever touch my wife in a harmful way again or speak to her in that tone whilst you're in her home and on her property then I'll throw your ass in my dungeons until you've managed to calm yourself down, cleared your head and learned some god damn respect, do you understand me?"

Cole growled as his eyes turned dark.

"Are you threatening my wife, alpha Cole?"

Cole glared at alpha Jay.

"Yer I am actually because she's the one who went off on my wife like a wild banshee"

"Our daughter is missing"

"And do you think this is Natalias fault? do you think she's not riddled with guilt as it is? do you think she's not hurting?"

"Well, you guys sure did take your time getting home after Angelo called, were you both too busy screwing each other to care that Max and Charlotte have been kidnapped?"

Amy said in a snide way as she glared at us, well more me, she was aiming her glares mostly at me.

"Alpha James, put your bitch on a leash before I put her in handcuffs"

Cole growled.

I could feel his anger dripping off him like sweat and he was dangerously close to becoming the part of Cole that I deeply despise.

"Amy please..."

I tried to beg Amy but that only spurred her on.

"Ooh, what's wrong, Luna? have I hit a nerve? I'm so sorry our babies being missing ruined your plans of being a whore for your husband, Nattie"

"Babe, shut the f**k up"

Alpha Jay warned Amy.

"No, why should I?"

"Because I'm getting to the end of my f*****g rope with you Amy, I'm giving you some leeway because of what's going on but I'm warning you that if you say one more word, I'll kick your ass off my property and you can find your own f*****g daughter by yourself"

"Cole"

I gasped.

I know Cole would never leave them high and dry to find Charlotte but just hearing him say it as a mock threat shocked me.

"Do you wanna know why we were running so late, Amy?"

She didn't answer, instead, she just glared at us.

"Cole"

I said in a warning tone not wanting him to tell them but he ignored me.

"I asked you a question Amy, don't make me f*****g repeat myself"

She sighed in annoyance.

"Yes...I wanna know why you guys were so late"

Amy said through gritted teeth.

Cole walked over to alpha Jay and Amy which concerned me, it also concerned Lucky who warned me to keep my eyes on them in case Cole loses his rag.

"I had to stop on the way because Natalia had a panic attack...she wasn't breathing properly and as heartbroken and pained as I am for you all, I had to make sure my wife was ok first"

Everyone fell silent except for a couple of gasps which came from Emily and Amy as I lowered my head in shame, I've always suffered from panic attacks and I've always felt ashamed of it because I see them as a weakness.

"I'm sorry that we couldn't make it home any quicker, I had to make sure Natalia was ok and as mean and as horrible as this may sound, she's my main priority and she comes before anything and everyone else"

He stops to take a breath before continuing.

"I'm deeply sorry that your children have been kidnapped, I really am and I promise all of you that both myself and Natalia are gonna do everything in our powers to help bring Max and Charlotte home safe and sound but I will not stand for anybody abusing my wife in any way and blaming her for all of this because she's completely blameless and if anyone causes her to have another panic attack like she did just now, then I swear to our almighty moon goddess, you'll all meet a side of me that you really don't want to meet, do you understand me?"

I could tell that everyone was trying to fight Cole's commands because of their statuses as royalty, alpha, Luna, beta, and beta female but in the end, everyone gave in and answered him which I was relieved about because we've got bigger fish to fry right now other than who's right or who's wrong or who's ego is bigger than the others.
