Chapter 46 - It's Time To Be An Adult And Face The Music.

Upon arriving at Coles mansion, we walked through to the dining room and I noticed that it was a packed house which isn't something out of the norm lately, everyone seems to flock over here whenever they smell either my cooking or my mommas cooking.

"Oh, there's my grandson, where was he?"

"He was with Nat"

I walked into the dining room and was met with a bunch of happy smiley faces.

"Oh my baby, it's so good to see you"

My momma said whilst engulfing me in a hug.

"Erm m..momma you saw me yesterday"

I managed to say despite the fact I was being squeezed to death by this tiny Hawaiian.

"I know, I know but yesterday you were as pale as a ghost and you still had that god awful bruise on your neck and now you're back to your old beautiful self"

"Thanks momma, I guess"

I didn't know whether to feel insulted or complimented.

"You're welcome, baby now come and sit, you haven't eaten anything in god knows how long"

My momma practically dragged me over to the only available seat which was smack bang in between Cole and my dad.

"Good morning, darling"

"Good morning, daddy"

He leans in giving me a side hug and kissing my cheek, I then sat back properly and was shocked when I saw a huge plate of food right in front of me and trust me when I say this thing is huge.

"Dang momma, I'm not pregnant you know, why are you feeding me this much food?"

"Not yet you're not"

She stated proudly which had me looking at her like what the f**k? and had all three of my brothers almost choking on their food whilst Cole was smirking like the asshole that he is.

"Besides, you need to keep up your strength, you've got a long few days ahead of you"

She said with a wink.

What the f**k is that supposed to mean? urgh!!, don't tell me her and the moon goddess have been having secret chats about myself and Cole mating, that shits just weird.

"Momma please, we're eating"

"And?....it's a natural part of life Nathan Koa Harrison, you of all people at this table should know that"

Oh for the moon goddesses sake.

I thought to myself whilst facepalming, can't we have just one f*****g meal in this god damn house without someone bringing up sex?.

"Relax baby, you look like you're about to have an embolism"

I look up at Cole who was still smirking, he winked at me and I scoffed pushing his hand off my thigh which I didn't even realise was there until I felt him gently squeeze it.

"Shut the f**k up, Cole"

He chuckled and I felt like punching him in his throat.

"After breakfast princess, I want you and Cole to meet your momma and I in Coles office"

"Why?"

"We've got something we need to discuss with you both"

"But daddy, I need to talk to momma by myself"

"Oh yer, about what?"

The room fell silent and I noticed that everyone was now staring at me.

"I just wanna talk to momma without you and Cole being there, that's all"

"Is it about your heat?"

"DADDY!!"

"KOA!!"

My momma and I shouted at the same time except my tone was filled with disgust whilst my mothers was filled with shock and disbelief.

"Why would you ask her something like that Koa?"

"It's just a question"

"Erm, no it's not daddy, you asking me about my heat is like a human father asking his daughter about her period, it's gross and freaking weird"

"Well, why else would you want to speak with your momma alone?"

"Dad seriously"

I groaned as I covered my face with my hands whilst resting my arms on the table.

"Don't worry Natalia baby, we can have our chat later on, your father and I just really need to talk to you and Cole first"

Urgh!!.

After breakfast, I waddled my ass upstairs to Coles office and yes I did say waddled because after my momma practically forced me to eat everything that was on my plate, I felt like a fat f*****g penguin who couldn't walk properly.

Anyway, after we all got to Coles office and made ourselves comfortable, my parents made quick work of ruining that by talking about a subject that nobody wants to talk about with their parents...sex.

My dad basically explained to us what I already knew which is that myself and Cole should complete the mating ritual before the next full moon in order for us to become even stronger so we can defeat Mason only my father went into more details about how we'll become stronger, according to my father because I'm a royal, it'll make Cole one as well once we've marked each other because it's like marrying into the Royal family for wolves, his wolf will also become a lot bigger than what he already is, he'll be stronger, faster and more powerful and he'll bear my Royal coat of arms on his chest which will prove that he's mine and a member of the Royal family.

He also explained that our bond will be different to normal wolves, our feelings will be heightened ten times more than a regular alpha and Luna wolf and we'll be even more possessive and protective with each other, this made me facepalm because Cole is already super protective of me and his possessiveness can get kind of crazy sometimes, actually, a lot of the times so hearing that both of those are going to be amplified once we finish the mating ritual is something that I'm not exactly looking forward too.

"What I wanna know is why Mason failed in marking Natalia? he tried so many times and it didn't work"

Cole asked my parents with a slight growl escaping his mouth.

"He failed because your bond with my daughter still exists and it's still very strong also, it's not easy for a Royal family member to be marked, only her true mate can mark her with ease"

"Why's that?"

I asked with curiosity.

"Because we can't have just anybody joining the Royal family darling and if people knew who you were these past eighteen years then there would have been wolves coming out of every woodwork wanting to mark you with hopes of using you to become not only a member of the Royal family but to gain more power and strength, so in order to assure that the monarchy remains within our family and we're all with our rightful mates, the moon goddess found a way for that to happen by making it extremely difficult for anyone other than our mates to mark us"

"Why did Mason try to mark me then? he's a blue blood himself, surely he should know all of this"

"You'd think so wouldn't you, honey? but no...Mason is a very smart man but he's also incredibly dumb so it doesn't shock me that he doesn't know stuff like this"

I rubbed my forehead in frustration as I closed my eyes, it feels like my head is gonna explode if it gets any more new information in it.

"Are you ok, Nat?"

"Yer, I guess"

I continued to rub my forehead feeling a headache coming on.

"I know this is a lot for you to take in honey but you needed to know it...Cole may not be perfect and trust me when I say that none of us are happy with some of the decisions he's made in regards to you but he's changed and he loves you"

"Really?"

I scoffed.

"Yes really"

I sigh in annoyance.

"It doesn't matter anyway, we're done"

"WHAT? no, we're not"

"Yes we are Cole...so you didn't cheat on me with Aubrey, congratulations it doesn't change anything because you still don't believe a word I say, I tell you I love you, you think I'm lying, I tell you I forgive you, you think I'm lying and don't get me started on twelve years ago because that will seriously piss me off"

"Babe, I do believe all of that, I swear"

"Ok"

I said sarcastically whilst rolling my eyes.

Cole continued to remain adamant that he believes everything I was telling him but I didn't believe him or at least I found it hard to believe that he all of a sudden believes me when he could just as easily change his mind again tomorrow.

"Maybe I can help you both"

My momma said whilst looking lost in thought.

"No offence momma but how the f**k can you help us?"

"Natalia, watch your language when you speak to your mother"

"Ok fine, how the f**k can you help us, momma?"

My father rolls his eyes and mutters something under his breath which I couldn't make out.

"Well baby, I can help you by showing Cole what happened the day of the attack"

"There was no attack"

I growled.

What does nobody f*****g understand about that?.

"Technically honey, there was"

I look at my momma confused.

"What are you talking about, momma?"

"Well, do you remember what happened that day?"

"Of course I do, how could I forget?"

"Then you know what I mean"

I looked away from her feeling confused.

"How can you help us, Luna?"

My momma smiled at Cole and I was instantly annoyed, she'd better not be switching to team Cole because I'll be seriously pissed if she is.

"I know a spell which can show you what happened that day"

"How?"

I asked confused, I'm still fairly new to my witch side and I'm learning new things every single day from both my momma and grandmother well, at least I did until my grams had to go back to Hawaii for some personal business.

"Well firstly, I need you both to hold hands"

"What? nuh-uh, no way, no"

"Come on princess please, for me"

My father says and I give in.

I've become a total daddy's girl ever since I met him and I can get away with a lot with him, that being said he can also make me do anything with just a simple look which must be the dad version of the puppy dog face that us girls have mastered.

"Ok fine"

"Great"

My momma shouted whilst clapping her hands together, she seems way too excited about this.

"Ok guys, now hold hands and close your eyes"

Myself and Cole do as my mother says and I had to resist the moan that was dying to escape my mouth from the feel of not only Coles rough skin against my soft skin but the shocks and tingles that erupted throughout my body like fireworks on the fourth of July.

"Ok, now I need you both to relax, take deep breaths in and out...Cole, I need you to completely clear your mind and Natalia, I need you to open your mind completely to the events of that day"

We did as my momma instructed and after a few minutes, I felt my momma place her hand on my head and I assumed she did the same to Cole as well, she then started to chant a spell over and over again in Latin.

"Powers and emotions tied together, a witches heart is where it hides to torment her, help her through her pain and agony, bless her with her memory"

I don't know how long my momma chanted for or how many times she said the spell, all I know is that it took a while before I felt myself being mentally transported back in time to that god awful day.

Inside Natalias Memory.

I looked around and saw that I was in the dark cold woods that surround Coles territory, the moon was shining brightly, there was mist in the air and there was a certain chill in the air which wasn't from the cold weather but from the atmosphere.

"What's going on? where am I?"

"We babe and I think we're in your head"

"Actually, we're in her memory, this memory in particular"

My momma said.

I was about to ask her what she meant when I heard the sounds of paws thrashing against the floor, we all looked to the front of us and that's when I saw my wolf in pup form running towards the lake where she stopped to take a drink.

"Is that Lucky?"

Cole asked shocked.

"Yes"

I said in disbelief, I couldn't remember how big Lucky was back then and I always assumed that she was the size of a regular pup but looking at her now, I can see she's bigger than an adult wolf.

"f**k, she looks like she's the same size as an alpha wolf"

Cole says shocked.

"Well, my baby is a royal Cole, it shouldn't be that shocking she's this big"

"AAHHHH!!, HELP ME!!"

A familiar scream interrupts us and my heart started to beat faster when I saw Lucky snap her head towards the area where the scream came from, she then took off running and it was almost like a movie, we didn't have to move for us to see where she was going or what was gonna happen next.

Knowing exactly what was gonna happen next, I crossed my arms over my chest in a way that was self-protective and my face was stern and emotionless.

Lucky ran until she found where the screams were coming from and I could see the rage on her face when she saw the rogue growling on top of a six-year-old Aubrey and he was dangerously close to ripping her throat out, Lucky pounced on the rogue and they tumbled over a few times, she then got up and stood in front of Aubrey in a protective way whilst growling at the rogue who was also growling back at her until he stopped and bowed his head before running away.

At the time, I never understood why but now as an adult I know it's because I'm a Royal wolf and he must have sensed that there was something really important about me, I was also shocked but not that shocked when I saw how strong and fearless Lucky was at this time, most six-year-olds would probably run away or be scared if they saw a sight like this even in wolf form but my badass wolf wasn't and she was able to not only take on an adult wolf but protect her friend as well even if the bitch wasn't worth saving in the end.

"You saved me, Natalia"

"Of course I did, you're my best friend"

My younger self said naively as she and Aubrey hugged but little did I know that the bitch was stabbing me in the back during this, metaphorically speaking of course.

"Let's go, we're not allowed in these areas, my daddy will punish us if he finds out we were here"

"Ok, let's go"

They took off running and I closed my eyes tightly.

"Momma, I don't wanna see the rest, we all know what happened after this"

I said in almost a whisper and even though my eyes were now open and firmly fixed on the two young wolves in the past, I knew Cole was staring at me.

"Ok baby, let's go"

She grabbed hold of mine and Coles hands and started to chant another spell in Latin but unlike the first spell which took forever to bring us here, it didn't take us long to go back.

Back To The Present.

I gasped as my eyes shot open, it felt like an electric shock that brought us back to where we are now, I looked around at everyone, my parent's faces were filled with sympathy and sadness whilst Cole had numerous different emotions on his face and...is he crying?.

"Cole"

I tried to touch his hand but he pushed me away and stormed out of his office, I stared at his retreating figure in shock and disbelief, why is he acting like this?.

"He's spent the past twelve years believing a lie over his own mate...he's got every right to be angry"

My momma answered my unasked question.

"Go to your mate, Natalia and sort this out, you're running out of time"

I look at my father confused because I didn't understand what he meant at first but then I remembered what the moon goddess told me and I immediately understood.

I jumped up from the couch and left the office following after Cole, I followed his scent which lead me to one of the guest bedrooms, I was confused until I heard angry growling, shouting, smashing glass, things breaking and I knew exactly what he was doing, I should have been scared to enter the room but I wasn't and I entered the room determined to face my angry mate.

I gasped upon entering the room because it looks nothing like the beautiful luxurious room that it once was.

"Cole....COLE!!"

I shouted his name numerous times and became worried when he started to pound his fists into the wall, I know us werewolves heal easily and he'll be healed before he can do any real damage to himself but still, I don't wanna see him do this to himself.

"COLE!!"

I shouted his name again as I placed my hand on his shoulder.

I was startled when he snapped his head towards me and a whimper left my mouth when I saw that his eyes weren't his normal beautiful green colour but his wolfs dark green colour with tiny flecks of gold in them.

"That's not Ace, Nat"

"What?...what do you mean, Lucky? can't you see his eye colour?"

"Yes I can but he hasn't completely taken over yet, you've still got time to calm him down before Ace takes over"

"Why, what's wrong with Ace taking over?"

"You don't wanna know"

Lucky cut the link and I looked back at Cole who was looking at me with an angry face and lust-filled eyes, I tried to speak but I couldn't and I could feel my nerves start to build as he got closer to me, I knew he would never hurt me or at least not again anyways but lord knows what he's capable off especially when Ace is this close to taking over.

Cole stood right in front of me and looked down at me, he then wrapped one of his hands around the back of my neck whilst gently gripping my bicep with his other hand.

"Cole, are you o..."

He cut me off by slamming his lips against mine.

I didn't waste any time in kissing him back as I wrapped one of my arms around his neck as I gripped his shirt tightly with my free hand, we both kissed each other with so much passion and hunger which isn't shocking considering we haven't kissed each other in over a week, I know most people would be like big deal, a whole week that's nothing but it's different for us werewolves, not having any affection from your mate for a long period of time would be like not breathing or not eating or drinking water for months on end, it's really bad for us.

Cole's hands started to drift all over my body like they had a mind of their own, he was showing me how desperate he was to have me and how much he missed me just from a simple kiss and his touch, I ran my hand through his hair as I felt both of his hands run over my ass before I felt him lift me up and wrap my legs around his waist.

Our kiss turned heated when Cole walked us over to the couch which funnily enough is the only thing in the room that he hasn't destroyed and he sat down with me straddling his lap, I started to grind on him as his hands once again gripped my ass and started to grope me, I don't know what was wrong with me because a small part of me just wanted to calm him down but the other hornier and sluttier part of me wanted to ride him like a damn rollercoaster.

After kissing for god knows how long, we pulled away from each other to catch our breaths and I rested my forehead against his, we were silent for a few minutes until Cole said something which completely broke my heart.

"I'm sorry Nat...I'm so freaking sorry for not believing you, for ruining your trust and faith in me, for breaking your heart, for rejecting you, I'm sorry for destroying us"

"Cole..."

"No, let me finish....I'm one lucky son of a bitch to have been paired with you and instead of accepting you and cherishing you like a queen...I broke you instead"

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before continuing.

"I'm an asshole, Natalia...I'm a disgusting, abusive prick who doesn't even deserve to breathe the same air as you let alone have you in my arms or be lucky enough to have you in my bed, I don't deserve you, I don't deserve you"

"Hey"

I cupped his face and raised his head up to look at me, his eyes were closed and his cheeks were stained from his tears.

"Cole, look at me"

He didn't look at me at first but when he did, his broken eyes met mine and he muttered out a heartfelt apology.

"I'm sorry baby...I'm so sorry for everything I've put you through, can you ever forgive me?"

I closed my eyes and smiled.

"I already forgave you, Cole"

"Even for the past week"

I look down at him as I wipe away his tears.

"Knowing what I know now...there's nothing really to apologise for...you were just trying to make our lives better"

Cole closes his eyes and sighs in relief, he then opens his eyes again and I was relieved to see that they're back to normal.

"I love you so f*****g much, Natalia Vasquez"

"I love you too, Cole Vasquez"

I declared with a big bright smile on my face as I leaned down and kissed him, he kissed me back and it was a slow and gentle kiss nothing compared to how we kissed before.

I felt relieved that all of this drama was now over and done with and I had my mate back where he belonged, I just hope that this is the last of our dramas and wherever Aubrey has disappeared off too, she stays there forever and leaves us alone.
