Chapter 45 - Too Stubborn To Face The Music.

I gasped loudly as I woke up from my unconscious state.

I sat up and looked around the room which is now empty but it doesn't look like it's been empty for too long because I can see some personal stuff such as coats, bags and phones scattered all over the room.

I didn't feel any pain in my body which I thought was weird especially since I couldn't contact Lucky which is probably from the copious amounts of wolfsbane that Mason so generously gave me.

Not wanting to be in the hospital any longer than I needed to be, I rip the tubes and wires out of my hands and arms which wasn't easy or pain-free to do, I then flip the blankets off me and slowly get out of bed because I knew I was gonna be a bit wobbly on my feet even though I haven't been unconscious for a long period of time, my body has still gone through a lot and I'll still be very weak.

When I felt steady on my feet, I walked over to the long mirror on the wall and I took a good look at myself, I was very pale and I had several bandages on my body, there's one on my forehead, one on my neck and one on each of my wrists, I gently peeled them off and saw that my injuries were no longer there except for the bruising on my neck which is still pretty black and purple, it doesn't even look like it's starting to fade.

I was startled by the sound of strong laughter which had erupted throughout the room, I turned around just as my brothers, Brody, Jason and Cole entered the room, at first they didn't notice me but it didn't take long for them too when they looked at the bed and saw it was empty.

The first person to notice me was Cole who was shocked to see me awake, he quickly got over his shock and put down the stuff in his hands before coming over to me and wrapping his arms around me in a tight bear hug.

"Thank the moon goddess you're ok, baby"

Cole said in a muffled voice as he nuzzled his face deep into my neck.

At first, I felt uncomfortable being in his embrace after so long especially now I've got all of this new information floating around in my head but I quickly forgot all about that and welcomed his embrace by wrapping my arms around his waist and resting my head on his shoulders, I was still hesitant and on the fence about what Selene had told me but I knew I'd eventually figure it out so I wasn't too worried about it.

After a few minutes of us hugging, Cole pulled away and looked me over with a huge smile on his face, he then raised his hands to my forehead and my neck and gently caressed the areas where I was hurt as he looked them over intently.

"You're not hurt anymore"

He said almost to himself, my eyes were focused on his bright green eyes which were filled with so much worry and concern for me yet they were filled with happiness as well, he then looked down at me and smiled brightly.

"Are you ok?"

I slightly nod my head unable to say anything, my head was still swarming with everything that's happened and all of the new information I've recently learned that it's confusing me and it's like a tug of war that's going on inside of me, half of me wants to give Cole a chance and have that fairytale ending that I've always dreamed off but the other half of me is too scared too.

"Hey baby girl, it's great to see you awake"

"Thanks, brother"

Angelo wrapped his arm around my shoulder and kissed my cheek.

The rest of the guys greeted me and told me how grateful they are to the moon goddess for sending me back to them, it filled my heart with so much warmth that I was loved and cared for by these guys and I knew that the moon goddess was sitting in her favourite place with a smug smile on her beautiful face because everyone was praising her.

"What the hell is going on here?"

A strong powerful voice bellows throughout the room and we all looked over at the door where my momma and daddy were standing with worried and confused looks on their faces.

"Natalia, you're awake"

My momma said whilst rushing over to me and pushing the guys out of the way to hug me, I wanted to chuckle at her but my daddys face stopped me, he looked so angry and I don't understand why.

My momma pulled away and held me at arm's length, her face then contorted from happy to angry and it was then that I understood why they were both angry.

"Why the hell are you out of bed young lady? do you have any inkling of what you've been through? and...oh my god she has, Koa she's removed the tubes and wires from her hand and arms"

My momma said whilst holding my hand where the cannula once was, my daddy was pissed seeing what I'd done but once again, I never understood why because I felt perfectly fine, I mean apart from the fact that I can't contact Lucky but that's nothing new, she's a lazy bitch and often blocks our link so she can sleep or have alone time with Ace.

My dad came over to us and gently grabbed hold of my arm.

"Baby girl, why did you do this? those tubes were attached to you for a reason"

"Sorry daddy"

I said whilst pouting and doing my famous puppy dog face.

I heard the guys around me chuckle and I even heard Nathan and Christian mutter under their breaths 'typical daddy's girl' or 'it didn't take her long to get dad under her spell' but little did they know that I've always been a daddy's girl and was the apple of my adopted dad's eyes before everything happened.

My dad sighed and I smiled knowing I got away with it.

"You're forgiven, now get your butt back into bed, I'll go and call the doctor"

"What? but I feel fine"

I whined.

"Don't answer your father back, Natalia now come on"

My momma gently grabbed hold of my arm and lead me over to my bed much to my dismay, I got back in bed and sat pouting hating that I was stuck in this stupid place.

"Get that pout off your beautiful face right now baby before I kiss it off in front of everyone"

My eyes widened as I looked up at Cole who was smirking and I quickly stopped pouting.

The door opened and my father walked back into the room with the doctor coming in behind him, I hope he can release me today, I f*****g hate hospitals.

"Hello there Natalia, it's great to see you awake, how are you feeling?"

The pack doctor asked as he walked over to my side.

"I'm fine"

"That's great just let me run a few tests on you and then..."

"Then I can go home?"

I asked with a lot of excitement.

"No, I'm sorry not yet"

I threw my head back in anger as I groaned in annoyance, I f*****g hate hospitals and the more I'm in one, the more I wanna kill whoever it was that put me in here, in this instance it's Mason.

I felt a comforting hand on mine gently squeezing it, I didn't really need to look down to see who it was because I felt the shocks and tingles but I did anyway and when I did, I saw the familiar tattoos that belong to Cole, I look up at him and he smiles down at me which I returned.

After a few minutes, the doctor finished with his tests and from the look on his face, I could tell that he looked happy but also perplexed.

"Is everything ok, doc?"

Cole asks the doctor probably noticing the look on his face as well.

"Everything is perfect, alpha Cole...Luna Natalia is fully healed, I need to do some blood tests to make sure her system is completely clean of the wolfsbane but other than that...she's a perfectly healthy young woman"

"See, I told you"

Everyone chuckled.

"Well, we still need to keep you in overnight for observation Natalia"

"Urgh!!"

I groaned.

"Well, it's either that or you come back with me so I can keep an eye on you"

Cole smirked probably expecting me to say yes because he knows full well how much I hate hospitals but his smirk quickly dropped when I told him I'd rather stay in hospital.

"Ok then, I'm just gonna take a couple of vials of your blood if that's ok with you, Natalia"

"Knock yourself out"

He pulled out a needle and took some of my blood, I rolled my eyes at the boys who all squirmed and looked like they were gonna faint from the doctor's actions.

When the doctor was done, he promised to get the results back to us as soon as possible before bowing and leaving the room.

"Boys, can you give us a moment alone with Cole and Natalia, please? we need to have a private chat with them"

"Of course"

"Sure"

"No problem"

My brothers responded before coming over to me and giving me a kiss and a hug, when they left, the room filled with silence and not one I was fond off.

"How do you really feel, darling?"

My dad asked me and I was annoyed because I felt like nobody was believing me.

"I'm fine, I promise"

"You can't lie to us baby, we can feel what you feel remember...you're our pup"

I sighed in frustration.

"Physically I'm fine"

"And mentally?"

Cole asked and I looked down not wanting to meet their eyes, I don't like talking about my emotions and I've spent so long hiding how I feel that I find it incredibly hard to express them.

"Talk to us, Natalia, please"

"Why?....I'm back and I'm ok, can't we just be happy about that?"

"Of course we're happy that we've gotten you back baby but it doesn't mean that we can't still worry about how you're doing mentally and emotionally"

Urgh!!.

"Baby, we just wanna make sure that you're ok and that Mason didn't do anything to f**k you up mentally"

"Pfft, please Cole...Mason isn't smart enough to f**k me up"

"Drop the act Natalia, we know what he put you through"

I snapped my head towards Cole and looked at him in shock.

"Wh..what do you m..mean?"

How do they know? they can't know.

"Natalia darling....Mason sent us something which showed us what he put you through"

Oh god, oh god, oh god, oh god.

My heart started to race as the image of what he did to me came to my head.

"Babe, are you ok?"

Coles grip on my hand tightened but not enough to hurt me or cause me any discomfort.

"What did you see?"

I ask them stoically.

Cole and my parents all look at each other and it didn't help how I was feeling seeing the looks on their faces.

"What's going on?"

I looked up at Cole who looked very uncomfortable and like he was trying to control his anger.

"Baby girl....Mason sent us a DVD which showed you h..handcuffed to a bed and you erm...you were....you only had on your erm...your underwear"

My eyes widened at my father's words and I felt physically sick that after I had fallen unconscious, that sick demented asshole filmed me in such a condition.

"Oh my god"

I tried to say normally but it came out as a whisper as I placed my hand over my mouth.

"It's ok, Nat"

Cole tried to assure me but I knew it wasn't ok.

"How's it ok Cole? you all saw me like that, how could it possibly be ok?"

"Calm down, Natalia"

I snatched my hand away from Cole and rubbed both of my hands over my face in frustration.

"Nat, baby..."

"Can you guys please leave? I wanna rest"

I didn't look up at them but I could tell that they were hurt and resistant to what I said, in the end, they agreed to leave and after giving me a kiss and a hug, they all reluctantly left the room.

People could say that I'm over-reacting to this but I don't care, I haven't seen this so-called footage that they were sent and I don't know what exactly is on it so for all I know, Mason could've kept on recording us right up until I managed to orb myself out of there.

Urgh!!, why can't life be f*****g easy?.

The Next Day....

"Oh my god, how cute are they?"

"So cute, did you get a photo?"

"Of course I did...look"

To quote my man The Rock, what in the blue hell is going on?.

"Aww wow, they're so adorable, he really does adore his auntie Nattie, doesn't he?"

"He sure does, they've built an incredibly strong bond in the short time we've been here"

"They sure have, Nattie was always destined to be an auntie and a momma no matter how much destiny has f****d with the both of us"

My poor best friend, I should have had a word with the moon goddess to bless my best friend with a baby, she deserves it so much.

"What the hell are you guys doing here so early?"

I ask whilst opening up my eyes and trying not to show that I was eavesdropping on their conversation.

"Look down and you'll see"

"What?"

I look down at my side and smiled when I saw Max was snuggled up next me with his favourite dinosaur plushie.

I awwed as I wrapped my arms around him and kissed his forehead.

"What's he doing here?"

"My guess is he missed you...we woke up this morning intending to wake him up and bring him to see you after breakfast but instead, we found his bed empty, we've got everyone out looking for him"

"Still?"

I asked confused, they both nodded their heads before realising the meaning behind my question.

"CRAP!!"

They both shouted before contacting their mates to inform them that Max is safe, f*****g idiots, you'd think the first thing they'd do is tell everyone they've found him and he's ok before taking pictures of us.

Max flinched from his crazy momma and crazy auntie shouting and he woke up looking straight at me, I smiled seeing his stunning green eyes looking at me with so much love and happiness.

"Auntie Natawia"

"Hey baby boy"

He jumped up wrapping his tiny arms around my neck and I wrapped my arms around his little body.

"You sleep forever, Natawia"

"I know, I'm so lazy, aren't I?"

"Yes you are"

I chuckled as I ruffled his dark brown locks.

Max snuggled into my chest as Rachel and Emily came back into the room.

"Well, it's safe to say I'm in the dog house with Nathan, no pun intended"

"Yer, Angelo isn't too happy with me either"

These girls, I thought to myself whilst rolling my eyes.

"Do either of you two know if I can leave this place yet?"

"Oh yer Nat, sorry, the doc said you're free to go home"

Urgh!!, I swear if it rained brains Emily would struggle to get wet.

"You didn't by any chance bring me some clothes I can go home in, did you?"

"Of course, what do you take me for?"

"I'm not gonna even answer that"

I gently pick Max up and place him down on the bed, the little sod has fallen back asleep and he has the nerve to tell me I'm always sleeping, kids.

"I've put a bag in your en-suite bathroom, Nat just have a quick shower and get ready so we can go back home"

"What's the hurry?"

I know why I'm so desperate to get out of this place but what are her reasons?.

"Your mommas cooking"

She said in a duh tone.

"Oh...ok"

I head into the en-suite bathroom and quickly strip out of that god awful hospital nightie and the granny knickers that I was wearing, who the hell put those things on me? anyway, after brushing my teeth, I jumped in the shower cranking up the heat making sure it's steaming.

As much as I wanted to have an hour-long shower washing off a days worth of dirt and grime, the smell of hospital as well as that filthy mutt Mason, I knew I didn't have the time too, I still needed to talk to my momma and I had to figure out what I was gonna do with this whole Cole situation so I quickly washed my hair and gave my body a good scrub and wash until I felt squeaky clean and smelled like Roses.

After having my shower, I dried myself off and put on some moisturiser before getting dressed and doing my hair and make-up, I was absolutely elated when I looked inside of the bag and saw my necklace that Emily got me for my birthday was in there, I thought I'd lost this forever.

I put the necklace on and fixed my hair.

"It's back where it belongs"

I hear Emily say, I look over at the door and smile.

"How did you know I was dressed, Em? for all you know I could've been butt ass naked in here"

"And what an awful sight that would've been"

She says with so much sarcasm in her voice whilst rolling her eyes.

"Come on Nat let's go, I don't wanna be here any longer than you do"

"You got that right"

I grabbed all of my things and left the en-suite bathroom where I saw Nathan holding a sleeping Max whilst Rachel showed him something on her phone.

"Are you ready to go guys?"

"Yer, let's go"

We left the room and we were almost out of the door when I realised something.

"Wait you guys, aren't I supposed to sign some release forms or something like that?"

"Cole already signed them"

Cole?.

"He came here early this morning to speak with the pack doctor and he said you can come home since your blood results came back clean"

I rolled my eyes.

"Do you have to put it like that, Nate? you make it sound like I'm some kind of druggie"

"Sorry sis"

Nathan said with a chuckle.

"Anyway, Cole signed the forms whilst he was here"

"And he didn't bother to wake me up so I could go home, the bastard knows I hate hospitals"

Nathan laughs.

"I guess he didn't want to disturb his sleeping beauty"

He said whilst wrapping his free arm around my shoulder and kissing my temple.

"Whatever"

I rolled my eyes as we headed back to Coles mansion.
