Chapter 44 - Don't Let Your Fear Destroy Your Future.

The moon goddess....I'm talking to the freaking moon goddess, wait, if she's really the moon goddess then that means I'm the goddaughter of our beloved almighty.

How is this possible? how does she know my momma?.

"I know what you're thinking, you're thinking how is it possible that the moon goddess is black right?"

"Yes..NO!! no, I mean..."

"It's ok baby, I get it a lot, you won't believe how many of my children I meet who believed I was a white woman, in fact, I've met quite a few who have thought I was a man"

What the...the clue is in her name Selene the moon GODDESS, urgh!!, some people in my species are really dumb.

"Actually, that's not what I was thinking at all, I was thinking about how this is possible? how am I talking to you right now? how are you my mommas best friend?"

"So many hows and not enough time"

"Huh"

"Come with me my darling"

She says whilst grabbing my hand.

"We've got a lot that we need to talk about before I send you back to Cole"

"What?...what do you mean? I..I..I don't wanna go back to him we're done, we're over, I accepted his rejection, we can't come back from that"

"Actually darling...you didn't"

What?.

"Come"

The moon goddess lead us through the beautiful gardens passing all of the brightly coloured flowers which almost looked neon, we then sat down on a bench overlooking a beautiful pond.

"I know you're confused my dear Natalia but there's no need to be, I've got most of the answers to your questions and your family and mate have the rest for you"

She said whilst waving her hand and showing me a scene of my family and Cole all sitting around a hospital bed where I'm lying.

"What is this?"

"This is all of your loved ones, the people who love you the most waiting patiently or should I say impatiently for you to wake up"

My eyes narrowed from person to person and sure enough, each one of them looks worried and exhausted, the poor things.

"It's your poor mother and father I feel sorry for the most, all they've ever wanted is to have their baby girl back home where she belongs and when they get you back, they're forced to fight that bastard Mason in order to protect you"

I gasped hearing her curse, I never thought I'd see the day where I would hear our moon goddess curse.

"Oh don't look at me like that child, everyone curses, besides, I'm only describing Mason as what he is"

"What, a bastard? I thought that meant a person who either doesn't know who their dad is or someone who is born out of wedlock"

"Oh yer it does, it's also used to describe someone who is despicable and unpleasant just like Mason"

I chuckled at what she said, she's not wrong, I've only met the guy once and that was enough to last me a lifetime, speaking of which.

"Moon goddess..."

"Selene"

She said adamantly almost like she didn't like to be called moon goddess.

"Selene...how did I escape Mason? I was handcuffed pretty damn tight to that bed and he had me drugged up to the nines with god knows what so...how did I escape him?"

"You tapped into your final power"

She said nonchalantly whilst continuing to watch the scene in front of us.

"My what? I've got more powers"

"No, not anymore but you did and your fear of being forcefully marked and mated is what helped you to tap into it"

Wow.

"What's the power?"

"Orbing"

"Orbing?...what the hell is that?"

"It's the ability to transport yourself from one location to the other through the use of orbs, it's a handy little power which you'll thoroughly enjoy using once you've gotten the hang off it"

I scoffed doubting what she said.

"I doubt it, it felt like I was being shot out of a cannon, I felt so dizzy and nauseous and look at where it's gotten me, my body is in a coma whilst I'm here talking to the moon goddess"

She chuckled as she turned to face me.

"First of all honey, your body is not in a coma...you're unconscious, there's a difference"

"I'm in an unconscious state and I can't move or do anything....sounds like a coma to me"

"Anyway"

She said whilst rolling her eyes and chuckling slightly.

"You're not unconscious because of your power, a lot of factors have gone into how you've fallen into your current predicament so get that out of your head right this second and secondly, you only felt that way because it was your first time using the power, trust me it'll get easier the more you do it"

"Hmm, I guess you're right, I felt the exact same way when I was using my astral projection power and now I love using it"

"See, it's all about your confidence, when you're confident enough with it, you'll be orbing here there and everywhere"

I smiled as my eyes focused on the scene of my family which is still playing as we talked, it quickly shifted to Cole who was possessively holding my hand and his eyes looked red and swollen like he'd been crying.

It broke my heart to see him in this state and I felt tears brimming my eyes just from watching him.

"He really loves you, you know"

"Yer, sure he does"

I scoffed whilst wiping away a few traitorous tears.

"He does, you should know better than anyone how much he loves you"

"Are you kidding me?....have you been watching my life the past few months?"

"I'm always watching over you, baby"

"Well then you'll know that the past week has been a living hell for me ever since that bitch came back....he doesn't care about me or us anymore, he doesn't even bother fighting for me anymore, we barely see or talk to each other and when we do we're at each other's throats, what's worse is he's got no belief in me, he doesn't believe that I've forgiven him or that I love him and worst of all, he doesn't believe me about what happened in the past"

"Actually, that's not altogether true"

She said whilst fluffing up her hair as I looked at her confused.

"What do you mean?"

She looked at me and smiled before waving her hand again and the scene changed from the hospital to Coles office where he, Angelo and their parents were sitting talking, I was so intrigued in the conversation and why I wasn't told about it but then I remembered that I had been told and Cole had tried numerous times to get me to come home that day but I very rudely blew him off.

I listened intently when my parents spoke of why they treated me the way that they did and although I was relieved to hear that they knew the truth and I was angry with Aubrey for threatening them, I was also really confused, why did they continue to beat me up when they didn't have too? they knew the truth so why did they continue to abuse me mentally, physically and emotionally knowing full well I was the innocent one? why didn't they just tell me I wasn't their daughter? it could've saved me a lot of pain if they had and also, I thought Aubrey knew that I was aware of who my birth family is, I mean why else would the Royal family come to our pack and wanna get to know me of all people?.

"Talk to me baby girl, tell me what's on your mind"

I didn't respond to her at first because I didn't know how too but then I started to speak and it was like I had word vomit and I started to voice all of my inner questions despite not wanting too.

"They knew....they knew I was innocent and they continued to abuse me....why? do they really hate me that much that they'd rather keep their precious little secret hidden and continue to abuse me then tell me the truth and relieve me from all of that?"

"They don't hate you, Nat"

"Really?"

I chuckled.

"Well, they've got a funny way of showing me that they love and care about me"

"I know you won't believe this baby but Lucas and Maria really do love you and they had their reasons for doing what they did"

"Oh yer and what reasons are those?"

I looked up at her when she fell silent and I saw her face had changed from happy to sad and pained, she looked like she was trying not to cry as she messed with her fringe.

"Selene tell me, what reasons do they have for continuing to treat me like shit despite knowing the truth?"

She took a deep breath before looking at me.

"Aubrey didn't just threaten them with their secret if they didn't do as she said....she also threatened to reveal their secret if they didn't continue to abuse you and treat you like an omega"

Oh my goddess, that f*****g bitch.

I thought to myself whilst roughly running my hands through my hair and tugging on it.

"Aubrey is an evil young woman, Natalia, I mean I don't need to tell you that but you should know that Aubrey's list of evil doings is longer than both of my arms put together"

"What do you mean?"

I know Aubrey is an evil bitch and she's done a lot of bad things in her young eighteen years of life which would probably shock the devil so it doesn't shock me that there's a lot more to add to her evil resume.

Selene once again waves her hand and shows me my bedroom, the room was empty and I was confused as to why she was showing me this but then a big ball of blue and white lights appeared and when it disappeared, I saw Cole and Aubrey standing next to my bed holding hands....what the f**k?.

"What is this?"

"What do you think it is?"

She said whilst gently rubbing her chin and waiting for me to answer.

"Well, it looks like Cole and Aubrey in my bedroom but as far as I know, Cole and Aubrey haven't got powers"

"You're right but who has?"

I shrugged my shoulders as I began to get fed up with her gameshow like antics.

"My dad, my momma, my brothers, my unc....oh my goddess, that's Mason isn't it?"

I looked at her and she nodded her head.

"But how?...how can he change his appearance like that?"

"It's called glamouring, Natalia...Mason uses this power in order to switch identities so that he can carry out his evil deeds which is how he was able to attack your grandmother and have her believe it was her mate and also how he was able to convince you into believing that Cole wanted to be with Aubrey and was having sex with her"

"But Cole does want Aubrey"

Selene gasped.

"Child please, you know that's not true"

"Isn't it? well, explain to me then why he's been so distant with me? why he's doubting my feelings for him?"

"Because he wants to prove that Aubrey is a liar so that he can get her out of your lives for good, Cole knows how much you love him and whether you want to believe it or not young lady, he loves you too"

Urgh!!, this is too much for me to handle, right now.

"Cole loves you, Natalia, I know it, he knows it, everyone knows it and deep down inside of you, you know it too but you're too scared to admit it"

"Pfft, scared...scared of what?"

"You tell me"

I didn't answer her because I didn't want to admit that she was right.

The truth is that I am scared because he's hurt me so many times and every time I've given him a chance, he's always ruined that chance and I don't wanna keep having to go through this if he's gonna continue to hurt me.

"Talk to me Natalia, you can't move forward if you're gonna continue to remain stuck in the past"

"What does it matter anyway, Selene? he rejected me, I accepted the rejection, it's over"

"Actually honey, that's all false"

"No it's not Selene, I was there you weren't"

"Not physically baby but I'm always around you and all of my children and I was there on both of those occasions"

"Well, if you were there then how can you say that it's false?"

"First of all Natalia, the rejection wasn't a proper one because Cole didn't use your full or real name"

"What?"

I look at her confused as she turned to face me crossing her left leg over her right leg.

"Rejection isn't something I agree with, there's a reason I pair all of you up and it really pisses me off when I feel a bond break between mates, I just wanna get that out of the way but with that being said, when a rejection does take place the rejector has got to use their mate's full name"

"So"

I wasn't getting where she was going because as far as I knew or was concerned with, Cole did use my full name.

"So, Cole never used your full name let alone your real one, Nat, your birth name is Natalia Isabella Kala Harrison, Cole rejected you using your adopted name"

"What?...but I felt the pain"

"That's because he got half of your name right which means that it put a slight nick in your bond..."

"Pfft, slight?, I'd hate to feel the pain of a proper rejection"

"Trust me, baby you don't"

Urgh!!.

I run my hand through my hair as I thought about all of this brand new information.

"So, I guess this is why I could still feel the pain of Cole mating with other women?"

I said with anger and jealousy in my tone.

"Unfortunately"

We both fell silent.

I didn't know if I was more shocked or confused by all of this and I didn't know if I was happy or not which I thought I would be because I love Cole and to hear that our bond isn't as broken as I thought it was should make me ecstatic but it doesn't.

"And I guess that me accepting the rejection was a big, fat waste of time?"

"In more ways than one, if Cole had properly rejected you and these same events happened then it wouldn't have worked because you weren't accepting the real Coles rejection but since the rejection wasn't done properly the acceptance didn't mean anything"

"This is so bluddy confusing"

"I know honey"

She said whilst placing a comforting hand on my shoulder and gently squeezing it.

We continued to talk about Mason and his many deceits and cons that both he and Aubrey had plotted together in order to try and break mine and Coles bond including the little scene at school when I saw Cole and Aubrey flirting, it turns out that this wasn't him at all, it was Mason who had glamoured into him which I couldn't believe at first because it just sounded so preposterous but then Selene showed me what happened that day and I couldn't believe my eyes when I watched Mason morph into my mate as he walked up the hallway to Aubrey away from me and my friends.

"Are you ok, Natalia?"

"Yer I'm fine, I just feel weird"

I said whilst resting my hand on my forehead, I was feeling very faint and nauseous.

"I think it's time for you to go back, honey"

My head snapped towards her and I started to panic.

"What? no, I'm not ready to go back yet"

Selene smiled brightly at me.

"Of course you are baby, now listen to me very carefully ok because what I'm about to tell you is very important"

She said in a very serious tone.

"Ok, what is it?"

She grabbed hold of both my hands in a tight but gentle grip.

"In order for you to fully defeat Mason, Nat, you and Cole have to have marked and fully mated with each other"

"What? why?"

"Because it'll make you both stronger, you're a royal wolf Natalia and when a royal marks and mates with her true mate it makes you both extremely strong and powerful"

"Really?"

"Yes and you both need to be at your strongest in order to defeat Mason"

Urgh!! and having sex with my mate is supposed to do all of this, please.

"When?....when do we have to mark and mate with each other?"

Selene started to act weird, her face looked like it was trying to suppress a smirk whilst she was fiddling with the hem of her dress.

"Well honey erm....youneedtomarkandmatebeforeorduringthenextfullmoon"

"I'm sorry, what was that?"

She rolled her eyes before looking at me.

"You need to mark and mate before or during the next full moon"

"The next full moon"

I looked away trying to work out when the next full moon is going to be and I gasped when I realised when it is.

"That's in four days"

"Is it? hmm, I didn't know that"

"Mm-hmm, the MOON goddess not knowing when the next full MOON is, ok I believe you"

I said whilst rolling my eyes.

"Ok, I knew but it's not that bad"

I give her an are you being serious? look.

"Selene..."

"Woah, would you look at the time? you've gotta go"

She says whilst looking at the imaginary watch on her wrist.

"Selene you can't do this, you can't just dump something this huge on me and expect me to be ok with it"

"Yes I can, I'm the almighty moon goddess, I can do whatever I want"

Urgh!!.

"Well...I'm not doing it and you can't make me"

I said whilst crossing my arms over my chest looking like a petulant child.

"You won't have a choice"

She said with an evil smirk as I groaned in annoyance and frustration, Selene then laughed at my reaction which annoyed me even further.

"Stop acting so childish Natalia, all I'm asking is for you to claim your man and you're acting like it's the end of the world"

"That's because it is...you try marking and mating with someone who has been acting like a complete d**k with you"

"Urgh!!, I've already explained all of that to you, Natalia, it seems to me that you're just scared"

Urgh!!, not this again.

"I'm not scared of anything"

I told her sternly which is true or at least I thought it was but I forgot who I was talking too and what her abilities are.

"The mouth can lie but the heart can not, my dear Natalia"

She said sounding like she was singing.

"What?"

"You're scared my little Natalia"

She said whilst cupping the side of my face and caressing my cheek with her thumb.

"Accepting Coles rejection was your trump card, your ace in the hole in case he ever screwed up again and you're scared that if you allow him to mark you and mate with you....then you'll be stuck if he proves you right"

I didn't respond to her and I guess she took that as an answer.

"It's time for you to go back, Natalia"

"But..."

"No buts young lady now you're going back and you'll remember everything I said, ok"

"Ok"

"Good girl"

She then quickly blew some sparkly dust in my face and I felt myself being transported away from her and back to my body.

I heard her say something to me which I wasn't sure if it's something I could fulfil but I promised I'd try.

"Give Cole a chance, Natalia"
