Chapter 39 - Accepting My Future.

A Few Days Later...

Emily's P.O.V.

I've never been one to have murderous or impure thoughts even after everything the Dark Shadows pack has put myself and my best friend through, I've never wanted to think or fantasise if you will about torturing, harming or even killing those that harmed us because it's just not in my nature to be as vile as these people and also because I never wanted to drag myself down to their level but lately....lately I've started to change especially when I see Cole or Aubrey, that's when my killer bitch switch flips and I have to control myself from destroying them like they have done Natalia.

Speaking of my beautiful best friend, she's been struggling and suffering really badly ever since Aubrey came back, she's been trying to hide it behind her hard and emotionless exterior as well as her beautiful smile but as her best friend, I know she's hurting and it kills me to see it, she doesn't deserve any of this pain.

Cole and Natalia have officially split up despite Coles reluctance to it, I even heard from Angelo that he's been trying to win her back but all of his attempts have been in vain because she either ignores him or tells him she's done which I know she's not because if she really was done with him then she would've accepted his rejection by now and moved on with her life.

Despite their split and the fact that they're barely talking to each other anymore, they still live in the same house with each other because of two reasons, the first being that her family are also living in the mansion and she doesn't want to be away from them and the second reason is that Cole refuses to let her leave and he flipped out on her and had to be restrained every single time she tried to leave their home.

One time it got seriously out of control after Cole overheard Natalia on the phone to alpha James, he hadn't heard the entire conversation just a small part in which she jokingly expressed her desire to wanna come back to live at his pack, I say jokingly because she didn't wanna worry alpha James or Luna Amy, as far as they're concerned she's happy and Natalia didn't wanna cause them any unnecessary worry and stress, anyway, Cole flipped out on Nattie and they got into a huge argument which resulted in them having to be broken up by the family and Cole told her that the only way she'll be leaving his house is over his dead body which Natalia responded with don't tempt me.

Natalia's been throwing herself into school and training to keep her mind off Cole as well as the bitches of Dark Shadows pack aka Aubrey and her plastic minions who believe that they're practically royalty now because Aubreys back and is claiming that she's not only Coles mate but that she's gonna be Luna soon, she's even bragged to everyone about her lavish and luxurious Luna ceremony which she's apparently been planning with Coles mother which is a big fat lie because not only is Aubrey's story faker than the silicone in her chest but her claim that Mrs Vasquez is on her side is a load of donkey shit because her and her husband have been trying to make things up with Natalia ever since we came back and they know that their chances would officially be shot if they sided with that bitch.

Also, Cole may be acting like a huge d**k and has decided to risk his entire relationship with Natalia for some reason or another but I know for a damn fact that he'd never make that walking STI his Luna because believe it or not, he actually loves Natalia, I know it's hard to believe because of their history but trust me, he does love and care for her, I've seen how much he does with my own eyes and I know that it's killing him being away from her, he's suffering just like she is and he's struggling without her.

Angelo has even had to step in as alpha because Cole has been drinking himself to death, he's really let himself go and has barely eaten or slept since he and Natalia called it quits, normally he'd get my sympathy but he lost all of mine as well as my respect when he decided to break Natalia's heart again, you don't repeatedly hurt my best friend and treat her like shit especially when she's been nice enough to forgive you for all of your atrocious acts and still get my sympathy, he should be lucky that he's got a mate who is so forgiving, lord knows I wouldn't have been if it was me and Angelo, it would've been hasta la vista, baby after the first time he hurt me and he wouldn't see me again but my Nattie has got a big heart and for some reason that I can't comprehend, she loves the dickhead which is why she's finding it so hard to move on.

It also doesn't help that everyone in the pack knows that their alpha and Luna are fighting and are dangerously close to ending things for good and many people including Cole's parents, Angelo, Dimitri and Massimo have all tried to help them reconcile but Natalia is being stubborn which I don't blame her, not one bit, as for Cole...well, he's just being his usual alpha douche self.

"Hey Dimitri, how's Natalia?"

"I don't know, to be honest, she looks fine but she's not concentrating at all"

"How can you tell?"

"Well, class is almost over and the only thing she's written down is her name and the date"

I let out a sigh.

"Ok, meet me by the lockers after class"

"Ok"

I shut off my mind link and tried to focus back on my class which wasn't easy considering I was angry as hell and I kept envisioning myself going all Jackie Chan on my alphas ass.

Natalia's P.O.V.

Two more minutes and school will finally be over for another day and I can get out of this dump, it's not like I've got anything exciting to do or places to go, it's just Emily promised that we would go and get some ice cream after school so I guess I have got somewhere exciting to go, what was I thinking?.

School doesn't normally bother me, it's just lately I haven't been able to focus properly especially in my history class thanks to Mr Creepy sorry Mr Smith who is always looking at me in a really creepy way or he tries to keep me back alone after class so that we can 'talk' but his attempts are always thwarted by Dimitri and Massimo who refuse to let me be alone with him which I'm so grateful for.

Another thing that is stopping me from fully focusing on my lessons is miss trash bag herself Aubrey who is in ALL of my classes, yep you heard right, the moon goddess hates me so much that not only has she paired me up with Cole but she's been so nice as to have his mistress whore around me all the time as well.

"Miss Vasquez"

I mentally groan in annoyance when Mr Creepy calls my name.

"Yes sir"

"How many people from the US died in Pearl Harbour?"

"Why are you asking her, sir? she doesn't know the answer"

Aubrey smirked whilst her little minions chuckled.

"Actually, I do it's the same amount of guys you've whored yourself with"

"I don't know what you're talking about, I've only slept with one man and that's my mate alpha Cole Vasquez"

She smirked at me and I smiled back even though my heart was hurting and my fists were itching to beat the botox out of her face.

"Answer the question, Miss Vasquez"

Aubrey continues to smirk at me and I smirk back, this bitch seriously doesn't know who she's messing with.

"That's right"

Aubrey's smirk dropped and her head snapped towards the teacher, urgh!!, it's such a shame that such an act on werewolves can't cause us to break our own necks, pull a muscle or get whiplash, that'd be really funny to see.

The bell rings and everyone jumps up to leave, I didn't bother to get up knowing that Mr Creepy was gonna ask me to stay back like he does every other time.

"Miss Vasquez, can you stay back, please? I'd like to have a word with you"

See what I mean.

"Don't worry Nat, we'll be waiting right outside for you"

"I'm not worried Dimitri, if he even dares to try anything then I'll introduce my knee to his family jewels"

Dimitri chuckled as he gave my shoulder a gentle squeeze before leaving the classroom.

When everyone was gone, Mr Creepy closed the door and asked me to come and sit in one of the front seats, I huffed as I grabbed my bag and went to sit on the desk that was furthest away from his desk which I knew irked him but he quickly masked it.

"Is everything ok Mr Cr..Smith, Mr Smith?"

He looked at me weird and I cursed myself for almost calling him Mr Creepy.

"It should be me asking you that question, Natalia, not the other way around"

Natalia? what happened to Miss Vasquez?.

"What do you mean, sir?"

"Well, I've noticed that you haven't been focusing a lot in class lately"

That's because of your creepy ass.

"And I've spoken to some of your other teachers and they've said you're the same in their classes too"

"Is everything alright at home?"

"Everythings fine, why wouldn't it be?"

I asked feeling annoyed, are teachers even allowed to ask their students questions like this?.

"Well, I've heard rumours that you're having problems with your boyfriend"

"It's ok Natalia, you can confide in me if he is"

I stood up and hooked my bag over my shoulder.

"Everything is fine Mr Smith and my boyfriend isn't abusing me, I've just been a little distracted lately that's all, now if we're done here, I'll be on my way"

I didn't even give him a chance to say anything more, I just walked out of the room and was met by Dimitri and Massimo who let out a relieved breath when they saw I was ok, these boys, I don't know what they were thinking Mr Smith was gonna do with me, I know he's creepy but I highly doubt he'd try anything on school property especially since he knows these two huge werewolves would be waiting outside for me.

"Glad to see you're ok, Nat"

"Of course I am, why wouldn't I be?"

We go over to our lockers were Emily is waiting for us and I get a few things out of my locker.

"I just don't trust him, there's something weird about him"

"Who?"

"Mr Smith...he's obsessed with Nattie"

Massimo whispers and I glare at him.

"I'm not surprised, she's a sexy single pringle now, she deserves a good romp in the sheets with someone and from what I've heard, Mr Smith is one sexy guy to ride on"

I gasped, this girl has seriously got no f*****g filter.

"He's creepy Em and I don't want him anywhere near our future Luna"

I roll my eyes in annoyance.

Mr Smith says with a smile as he passes us.

I mocked as I closed my locker.

I turned to face my friends only to be met with something which pained my already hurting heart.

"So, are you ready to go and get yourself the biggest bowl of your favourite ice cream paid for by yours truly?"

What the hell is he doing here? why is he laughing and joking with her?, I guess he was lying all of the times he said he loves me and wants me back.

"Yer ok, Lucky"

"Natalia, hello"

Emily followed my line of sight and was angry when she saw what I was looking at which was Aubrey and Cole practically flirting with each other in the hallway, she was leaning against the locker and Cole was standing in front of her with his hand resting next to her head.

"Oh hell no, these bitches are about to get a two for one"

"Leave it, Emily"

Too late.

Emily was halfway down the hallway before I even finished my three worded sentence.

"Oh shit, should we stop this"

Emily bitch slapped Aubrey and kneed Cole in his d**k.

"From my experience, it's best to leave her to do her thing"

I turned around and walked the other way to leave.

"Nat, where are you going? we're getting ice cream, remember"

"I'm not in the mood, I'll see you later"

I quickly left the building, got in my car and went home, the only thing I want to do right now is to slip on my runners and go for a long run around the territory.

When I arrive home, I quickly ran up to my bedroom and stripped out of my clothes before putting on my workout gear, when I'm ready, I grab my Ipod and head downstairs.

Mmm, what's that smell?.

I went into the kitchen and a smile graces my face when I see my momma singing and dancing along to don't cha by the Pussycat Dolls as she cooks up one of her epic feasts.

"I think a lot of men would be jealous of daddy because he's got a hot wife and they haven't"

My momma was startled hearing my voice but she quickly smiled as soon as she saw me.

"Hey baby, how was school?"

"It was good"

I lied through my teeth whilst kissing her cheek, I then went over to the fridge and grabbed myself a bottle of water.

"Have you spoken to Cole yet?"

"Nope"

"Natalia, baby you guys need to talk this out"

She said with a sigh.

"What's there to talk about, momma? Cole doesn't believe that I love him, Cole doesn't believe that I've forgiven him and Cole doesn't believe my word, why the hell should I speak with him?"

"Language and because he's your mate, that's why"

"Was"

I took a sip of my drink whilst my momma narrowed her eyes at me.

"Don't you even think about it, baby girl"

She said whilst waving her knife around.

"Think about what, Michael Myers?"

"Huh....whatever, don't you even think about accepting his rejection, baby girl"

I rolled my eyes at her.

"I mean it, Natalia, you can't accept it"

Wow, I sounded like such a whiney child then.

"Whatever, I'm gonna go for a run, I'll be back soon"

As if, I'm going for a run to forget about Cole for a while not to think about him.

I opened the back door just as I heard the sound of my oh so amazing mate shouting my name.

"NATALIA!!...NATALIA, ARE YOU HOME?"

"IN THE KITCHEN!!"

"What? you two need to grow up and sort this out once and for all"

I hear Cole's voice get closer to the kitchen and I bail, I don't know why he wants to talk to me all of a sudden but I'm not sticking around to find out.

"NAT!!...NATALIA, GET BACK HERE, NOW!!"

"Don't f*****g use your alpha command on me, asshole"

"Natalia, come back babe, we need to tal..."

I blocked him out and put my earphones in, I'd rather listen to Sia right now than him.

One Hour Later...

Whoo, I love a good run, it always helps me to clear my mind and stops me from overthinking, I guess this is why I've been able to sleep so well since I split with Cole, well, it's either that or Max who always ends up in my bed of a night, I don't know how he does it, all I know is that I go to bed alone and wake up with my little nephew cuddled up to me.

"MOMMA!!"

I shout when I walk through the back door and see the kitchen is empty even though it smells divine, I didn't get an answer so I decided to go up to my room but stopped when I saw a note on the kitchen island.

Natalia, I've just popped to the store to pick up some vanilla ice cream and beverages, I'll be back soon, love momma xxx p.s. please talk to Cole, baby girl.

Urgh!!, as if.

I finish off the last of my drink and throw away my bottle, I then head up to my room to have a quick shower and get dressed.

When I got to the top of the stairs, I heard what sounded like moaning, who the hell could be having sex in my god damn house? I followed the noises and felt sick when I heard them coming from my bedroom.

Tears filled my eyes as moans and groans were continued to be heard coming from my room.

I was contemplating what to do but only one thing came to my mind, it wasn't gonna be a popular choice with my friends, my family or my wolf but I didn't care, I have to do this for me.

I open up the door and my heart breaks into a million pieces seeing the sight in front of me which is that dirty bitch riding my naked mate, they both stopped upon hearing the door open, they looked over at me and smirked.

I stormed out of the room slamming the door shut, I then ran down the stairs and out of the house running towards the woods, I didn't care how fast I was running or where I was gonna end up, I just wanted to run until I couldn't feel anything anymore.

"AAHHH!!, SHIT!!"

I was running so fast and absentmindedly that I didn't see the huge boulder right in front of me and I tripped over it almost breaking my ankle and scratching up my leg.

"Shit, f**k"

Urgh!!, this f*****g hurts.

I was startled by the sound of ruffling bushes, I looked around to see if I could see anyone but no one was there.

"HELLO!!....IS ANYONE THERE?"

I look around again and started to feel scared.

I got up and started to walk back home, I picked up my pace despite the pain in my leg and ankle when I heard the sounds of more bushes ruffling, I turned around to see if anyone was there but there wasn't, I started to back up intending to turn around and run but before I could, I was grabbed from behind.

"HEY, LET ME GO!!...LET ME f*****g GO!!"

I tried to fight whoever it was but he was too strong, I then felt a pinch in my neck and I yelped in pain when I felt like I was being stabbed with something, I started to feel dizzy and eventually succumbed to the darkness but not before feeling myself being picked up and hearing my attacker whisper something in my ear.

"Sleep tight princess, I'm gonna take you home"
