Chapter 38 - Trouble In Paradise.

Cole's P.O.V.

"Hey there handsome"

"Aubrey"

What the f**k does this bitch want?.

"Hey baby, did you miss me?"

"Yer about as much as a prostitute misses having herpes"

"Aww baby, don't be like that"

"What do you want, Aubrey?"

I asked with a sigh whilst rolling my eyes.

"You know exactly what I want"

She said in what I assume was her seductive voice as she tried to wrap her arms around my neck, I was startled by this and tried to push her off me.

"What the hell are you doing? don't ever touch me again, do you understand me?"

"Oh come on babe, you don't mean that"

"Yes I do"

I growled whilst grabbing hold of her wrists and pushing her away from me when she attempted to touch me again.

"And stop calling me pet names Aubrey, you don't have the right too"

"Of course I do, I'm your mate and Luna, ooh speaking off..."

"No, you're not"

I cut her off.

"You never have and never will be my mate and Luna, you were just something easy to screw when I wanted to get my rocks off"

"What?...y..you don't mean that"

"Yes I do, you never meant anything to me Aubrey, there's only one woman who I love, who means the world to me and that's my true mate and Luna"

"Oh yer...who's that?"

She asks mockingly whilst crossing her arms over her chest.

"COLE!!"

As if on cue, my baby appears and I smirk at Aubrey whose face is a mixture of shock, anger and disbelief.

"Babe, who is it?...you"

Natalia's face quickly contorted to anger as soon as she saw Aubrey.

I could sense that Natalia was absolutely furious and I don't blame her, there's so much bad blood and hatred between these two and I knew that shit was gonna hit the fan now that Aubrey is back.

"Natalia...what the..."

Aubrey's eyes narrowed to Natalias arms where her niece is still peacefully sleeping.

"Who's baby is that?"

Aubrey growled through gritted teeth.

"It's none of your business"

"It is if you're having a baby with my mate, bitch"

I rolled my eyes in annoyance.

This girl is honestly thick as pig shit, not just because she's still calling me her mate knowing full well I'm not but also because she thinks myself and Nattie have had a beautiful baby, I mean it's not that far fetched because werewolf pregnancies especially alpha ones are incredibly short and it is possible for us to have a baby in the time since Aubrey left but still.

"Not everyone whores around with other peoples mates like you Aubrey and besides, I've got my own mate, why would I want anyone elses?"

I smiled at this, I felt proud that my mate wanted nobody else other than me.

"What are you doing here anyway, I thought you were in New York?"

"I've come back home to be with Cole, I'm gonna be his Luna you know"

"Oh really"

Natalia looked at Aubrey amused.

"Yes really, in fact, that's why I'm here"

Huh.

"What do you mean?"

I ask her confused.

"Well, your parents called me and told me to come back home because it's high time you make an honest woman out of me..."

"Pfft honest, you don't even know how to spell the word let alone be it"

"Of course I know how to spell it, it's not a hard word to spell Natalia"

Aubrey rolled her eyes.

"Spell it then"

"Urgh!!...you spell it o.n.i.s.t"

Oh f**k off, nobody is that f*****g dumb.

Natalia burst out laughing and I knew that she probably would've been rolling on the ground laughing if she didn't have Miliana in her arms.

"Oh my god, I shouldn't be shocked that you don't know how to spell but to be fair, you're the same girl who doesn't even know the order of the alphabet which is weird considering you've whored your way through most of it"

I chuckled at Natalia, my girl can be quite witty when she wants to be.

"Urgh!! you're just jealous because no man wants you, Natalia, even your own mate doesn't want you, that's how pathetic you are"

"Whatever you say, Aubrey"

"What's going on out here?"

I hear Nathan ask.

I look behind Natalia and see everyone but Natalias parents and grandmother have come out and most of them are looking at Aubrey confused.

"Urgh!!, what the f**k is this bitch doing here?"

Emily growled as she glared at Aubrey.

"Urgh!!, you're here as well?"

"Yes and unfortunately, so is your skanky ass now answer my damn question"

"I don't have to answer any of your questions, you're just a servant whereas I'm going to be Luna"

"What?"

Emily burst out laughing.

"Please don't tell me you believed all of the bullshit he spewed that he was gonna make you Luna if you have sex with him?"

Aubrey was silent which made Emilys laughing worse.

"Oh my god you did, that's f*****g classic"

"What's so funny?"

Aubrey shouted whilst stomping her foot like a little child.

Emily managed to calm herself down but still sniggered here and there.

"You are....bitch, he was just playing you so that you'd have sex with him, I don't know why though considering you're easy like a Sunday morning"

"Urgh!!, you f*****g bitch"

Aubrey charged towards Emily but was pushed back by Angelo.

"Don't you f*****g dare"

Aubrey growled and I could tell she was getting fed up and angry.

"Who is she?"

Brody asked whilst looking at Aubrey in disgust.

"Aubrey Taylor, babe, she's Cole's ex hoe bag"

"Jason, what the hell? I thought we were friends"

"No"

Jason said whilst chuckling.

"Whatever, I'm not here to deal with you lot, I'm here for my Cole, I was called back here by your parents so that we can prepare for my Luna ceremony, I'm thinking it has to be everything that I am..."

"Cheap, trashy, skanky and slutty, I know the perfect place, there's a run-down strip club in town that's everything you are"

Aubrey death glares my mate whilst everyone chuckles at what she said.

"You bitch, who the hell do you think you're talking too?"

"A desperate whore"

Aubrey was steaming and I could tell from the look in her eyes that she was thinking some pretty ungodly things to do to my precious mate but I wasn't worried seeing as Natalias a badass and Aubrey can't fight for shit even though she was trained by one of the best warriors in my pack who also happens to be her father.

"Wait, is she the girl who accused you of beating her up?"

"She did beat me up"

"NO, I f*****g DIDN'T!!"

Natalia went to attack Aubrey but I stopped her, I don't know why I did and I didn't think much off it until I looked down at my little mate and saw not only the hurt on her face but betrayal in her eyes.

"Yes you did, I still remember it like it was yesterday, you attacked me for no reason...you nearly killed me"

Aubrey said looking hurt and scared as she started to cry.

"Urgh!!, stop with the fake tears bitch, nobody believes you"

"Cole does, he's always believed me because I'm telling the truth whereas you....well, you've always been a habitual liar, haven't you Nattie?"

Natalia stiffened in my arms and when I looked down at her, I saw many different emotions on her face and in her eyes but I couldn't make most of them out.

"Tell her babe, tell your little bitch sister that you believe me and not her"

Aubrey said whilst wrapping her arms tightly around my bicep whilst Natalia was looking at me eagerly waiting for me to say something but the truth is, I didn't know what to say, for twelve years I've believed Aubrey was telling the truth because her story sounded so real and also because I saw her injuries that day, if Natalia didn't attack her then how did she get injured? also, why would Aubrey lie? she was six years old and best friends with Natalia.

"Why would Natalia lie, idiot?"

"I...I don't know"

"Well, you better hurry up and say something Cole because according to Lucky, you're this close to losing Natalia for good"

"WHAT?"

I felt myself being pushed away, I looked down and saw that Natalia had pried herself out of my arms and had backed up away from me, it pained me to see how hurt and angry Natalia is and I wanted so badly to hold her and tell her I believed her but I couldn't because I didn't know who was telling me the truth, I need to speak to my parents.

"No, you don't idiot just believe Nattie, she's innocent"

"And what if Aubreys telling the truth?"

"She isn't"

"But what if she is?"

"So what if she is? she's not our mate, Natalia is"

"I should have known you'd still take her side over mine"

"Natalia..."

"Save it, Cole, I don't wanna hear it...I'm done"

She's done? what the f**k does she mean by that?.

Natalia turned around and handed her niece over to Nathan before heading back inside.

"Natalia wait"

"Leave her alone, Cole"

Angelo stood in my way as he glared at me.

"You can't tell me what to do, Angelo"

"Actually, I can because she's my sister and my responsibility which means it's my job to keep her away from people like you"

"People like me?...what the f**k is that supposed to mean?"

Angelo stepped closer to me, he glared at Aubrey who was still latched onto me like a damn boa constrictor even despite my many attempts to get her off me, he then looked back at me and I swear if he wasn't my brother, I'd kick his ass for looking at me in that f*****g way.

"What I mean Cole is that I promised Natalia that I would always protect her and keep her safe from anyone who wants to cause her harm including you and for the past few months, I thought you'd changed, I thought you actually started to love and care for Natalia..."

"I do"

"Clearly not, Cole....now you can do whatever you want, I honestly don't care anymore but don't you dare ever even think of bringing Natalia down again, do you understand me? especially not for this trollop because if you do, if you wind up causing her even more hurt and pain then you already have, then I'll make sure that you never ever see Natalia again"

Angelo gave myself and Aubrey one last glare before storming inside leaving me feeling torn and confused.

A Few Days Later...

Natalia's P.O.V.

It's been a few days since the long lost Sanderson sister returned back to the pack and what an awful few days it's been.

After I stormed off away from Cole, he never bothered to come and see me or even talk to me which I thought he would have but no he stayed outside with that bitch and I never saw him again for the rest of the day, it was only when I spoke to Emily the next day and she told me that Cole had allowed Aubrey to stay in the pack at the packhouse despite her many attempts to stay at Coles mansion that I flipped out and confronted him about it and my anger spiked at his answer which was, well, she's a member of my pack, I can't kick her out, can I?.

This was the last time I saw or even spoke to Cole but it wasn't from a lack of trying, every time I tried to get his attention he always made excuses like I'm working or I'm busy training the pack or my personal favourite I've got paperwork coming out of my ears and I don't have time to spend with you, it's my favourite because A) his paperwork never seemed to get in the way of our relationship before and B) I've seen his paperwork and it's not as much as he claims it is also, he's been spending quite a lot of time with the seed of satan which means he's lying to me.

Cole has also stopped sleeping in our bed with me, I don't know where he's been sleeping and I dread to think to be honest with you but I know he's not sleeping in our bed because I always wake up and go to bed alone and even during the night I don't feel the sparks and tingles that I feel when he touches me or the weight of his arm which is always around my waist when we sleep.

It hurts to see the change in Cole since Aubrey returned and my wolf keeps trying to tell me to keep my faith in him because maybe he's planning something or plotting to get rid of her for good but I don't believe her, I mean what could he possibly be planning?.

Anyway, this is the fourth day that I haven't seen or spoken to Cole or felt his touch, seen his gorgeous smile or heard his adorable laugh and I'm at my breaking point so now I'm on my way up to his office to confront him and sort this out once and for all.

"Can't you knock?"

He asks when I burst through the door.

"I don't have to knock Cole, I'm your mate and this is my house"

Cole sighed and put his pen down.

"What do you want, Natalia?"

"What do I want? I want a f*****g explanation that's what I want"

"An explanation for what?"

He asked sounding bored.

"Well for starters, I want an explanation for why you've been avoiding me, Cole, for why you don't come to bed anymore, for why you'd rather spend time with that bitch than with me"

"I haven't been spending time with anyone Nat, I've been working"

I looked at him stunned, now he's actually lying to my face.

"Who do you think I am, Cole, Stevie f*****g Wonder? I've seen with my own two eyes you and her talking and laughing with each other like your best pals"

"She's my pack member, Nat"

"And I'm your mate or does that mean nothing to you anymore?"

"Don't be stupid, Natalia"

"Oh I'm being stupid am I?...you know what maybe I am being stupid, stupid for giving you a chance, stupid for falling in love with you and stupid for forgiving you for everything you've put me through"

"Yer maybe you are, why did you forgive me anyway?"

"What?"

"You heard me, why did you forgive me?"

"Because everyone deserves a second chance, Cole"

Cole snorted as he stood up making his way around his desk.

"Would you have forgiven me if we were humans? if I was an abusive husband, would you still forgive me for everything I put you through?"

I couldn't answer him because, to be honest, I didn't know.

The truth is that I'm not a human and I don't know how I'd react in that situation if I were, all I know is that Cole is my mate and I love him, the road in our relationship may have been a bumpy and painful one and my decision to forgive him is definitely one that will divide people and have them questioning my sanity but at the end of the day, it's my choice and I know that he won't hurt me again, well, at least not physically.

"I can't answer that Cole because I don't know, I'm a wolf not a human"

"Ok then, well answer me this....have you only forgiven me because of our bond?"

"What? no, of course, I haven't"

"Then why did you forgive me?"

"Because I wanted too, idiot"

Jesus, how many times do I have to tell him this before he gets it through in his thick skull?.

"Ok then....do you really love me?"

My head snapped up and I looked at him in shock.

Now he's really gone too far, I slapped Cole hard across his face causing his head to snap to his right.

"DON'T YOU EVER QUESTION MY LOVE FOR YOU AGAIN, COLE VASQUEZ, DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?"

Cole turned to face me looking angry and rubbing his cheek.

"What's wrong, babe?....have I hit a nerve?"

He asked mockingly.

"What?"

"You're getting so angry and defensive and all because I asked you one simple question"

"NO COLE I'M NOT, I'M GETTING ANGRY WITH YOU BECAUSE EVER SINCE THAT WHORE CAME BACK HERE, YOU'VE TURNED BACK INTO THE OLD COLE, YOU'RE IGNORING ME, YOU DON'T WANNA BE AROUND ME ANYMORE AND NOW YOU'RE QUESTIONING MY f*****g FEELINGS FOR YOU!!"

"I'm not, it's just..."

He sighed rubbing his face in frustration with both of his hands.

"It's just what?"

Cole looked at me and I could tell that he was thinking about what to say next, he's probably thinking about what words to use making sure they're the right ones because he knows that I'm a ticking time bomb right now and just one word is enough to set me off.

"It's just been so easy that's all....one minute you hate me and wanna take great delight in torturing me and talking in detail about how happy you would be to stick my balls in a blender or rip my head off or lash me with a silver whip and the next minute....the next minute you're all over me like a rash, declaring your love for me and it didn't take much convincing to get you into my bed"

"So what?...what are you trying to say, that I'm easy? that I'm lying to you about my feelings? that I just woke up one day and thought oh I don't hate Cole anymore, I actually love him so I'm gonna go and declare my love for him, pack my shit up and move into his bedroom, is that what you really think, Cole?"

"Well, what do you expect me to think, Natalia? it's all been plain sailing and easy for us"

"STOP SAYING THAT WORD!!"

"Well, it has...I expected it to be hard to win you back and I was prepared to fight tooth and nail for you baby but it wasn't as hard as I thought"

I looked at him shocked.

"Why are you acting this way Cole? are you doing all of this because of Aubrey? has she been getting in your ear?"

"Aubrey's got nothing to do with us, Natalia"

"Then why, Cole?...if it's not Aubrey then what is it? most men would be happy if their mate forgave them especially if they did what you did to me but instead of being happy like you have been for the past few months, you're standing here bitching about it and questioning me"

"That's my point, Natalia...I abused you, I bullied you, I f*****g rejected you, I had sex with other women knowing it would hurt you, I even threatened to take you to the torture room which I never would have done but I still threatened you with it and you've forgiven me for it all"

"So what?"

"So, I wanna make sure that you've really forgiven me, Natalia and that you really love me and you're not just spinning me a lie to either lead me on or to get revenge or because your f**k buddy has found his mate and now you've got nobody else"

"You're a d**k"

I said whilst looking at him shocked, I can't believe he'd say something like that to me.

I looked down trying to control my tears which were threatening to break free, it then hit me why he could be acting this way and I honestly felt like the stupidest person in the world.

"Were you just using me, Cole?"

"What?"

"You heard me....for the past few months you've been doing everything you can to get me back and the past couple of months we've been really happy or at least, I thought we were happy and now Aubreys back, you've changed....were you just using me to keep your bed warm until she came home?"

"Now you're being ridiculous"

"You're right"

I wiped my tears away and took a deep breath in before slowly letting it out.

"You know what, Cole....do what you want, I don't care anymore, I forgave you because I wanted too, I gave you a chance because I thought you earned it even after everything you've said and done to me, I fell head over heels in love with you and not because of some stupid f*****g bond, I did it because I wholeheartedly love you but if this is the way that you feel....then maybe it's just best that I accept your rejection and move on because I don't wanna be with you if you're constantly going to question my feelings for you or question my decisions and choices or if you're gonna allow that whore to come between us"

"Natalia"

I ignored him and stormed out of his office, I ran up to our bedroom and started packing up all of my things, I'm f*****g done with his bullshit.

When I was done, I moved back into my old bedroom, I didn't even bother unpacking my stuff, I just lay down on my bed and broke down in tears.
