Chapter 32 - First Night With My Mate.

"Well, well, well, don't you two look cosy"

Huh, I looked down at myself and Cole and blushed bright red when I realised I was still sitting in his lap.

Oh my god, this is so embarrassing.

I quickly jump off Cole making sure not to hurt him which I thought I had when I heard him growl but when I looked at him, I saw he was just angry probably because I got off his lap.

"I erm...I'm gonna go and get something to eat"

I briskly leave the room feeling embarrassed yet relieved that Cole didn't kiss me because I would've died of shame if they'd caught us kissing.

The guys chuckled as I left the room and I swear I heard one of them make a joke about how red my face was, jerks.

"Hey Nat, wait up"

Emily shouted as she ran up to me linking our arms, she didn't say anything or make any jokes which I was grateful for.

"Come on Nat, let's go get us some free food"

"Food isn't free in the canteen, Em"

I said confused.

She should know better than anyone that the food's not free here, I heard she kicked off over the price of a sandwich not once but three times when I was in a coma, a small part of me thought she was probably just stressing out over me but then I remembered that this is Emily we're talking about and as much as she loves her food, she hates paying for it.

"I know but it is for the Luna"

She said with so much excitement and I couldn't help but chuckle at her.

We arrived at the canteen and grabbed some food, I tried to pay for it because I didn't want to be treated differently just because my mate is the alpha but the girl who was serving us refused to accept my card because in her words 'I'm the Luna, the queen of the pack, I don't have to pay for anything'.

I groaned in annoyance, I'm gonna have to have a serious chat with Cole when he's feeling better.

"This is great, I'm loving being best friends with the future Luna"

"Is that why you're only friends with me, Em because of the perks you get from being besties with the Luna not that I am the Luna or anything"

"Yer yer, whatever and no, I'm not besties with you just because I get free food, I'm besties with you because you're the only one apart from Angelo who bothered with me after my family died and besides, you're my sister from another mister, I'd love you whether you're Luna or not"

Aww, isn't she sweet?.

"Thanks Em, I love you too"

We sat down at a table and started to eat our food.

I hoped that Emily would stop talking about me being Luna and prayed that she wouldn't bring up Cole but I should have known better because our Emily is a little gossip queen and isn't happy until she's sucked out every last drop of gossip from you.

"So, you and Cole, huh"

"Drop it, Em"

"Oh come on Nat, you can't expect me to do that, not after what I just witnessed"

"You didn't witness shit, Emily now eat your food before it goes cold"

"Bitch please, my food barely has a chance to get warm let alone cold"

That's true.

"So, come on tell me what's going on with you two"

"Emily"

I said with a warning growl which she totally ignored.

"Please Nat, please tell me"

"There's nothing to tell you, Emily"

I said with a sigh.

"Myself and Cole were just talking and..."

"You ended up on his lap and nearly made out like a pair of horny teens"

I rolled my eyes as I groaned in annoyance, this girl's really got a way with words.

"No we didn't Emily for Christ's sake and the only reason why I was sitting on his lap in the first place was because he went all possessive on me when I joked about my parents taking me back to their pack"

"Yer and you were really hating it, wasn't ya?"

Urgh!!.

"Can you please drop it, Em? I don't wanna talk about Cole anymore"

"Ok"

She said in a sad tone as she stabbed at her salad with her fork.

"How are you feeling anyway?"

Emily asked whilst shoving a piece of lettuce in her mouth.

"Me? I'm fine, why wouldn't I be?"

"Well, you looked like you were dying this morning because of Cole, I thought you would've felt some after-effects from it"

"Oh no, I'm fine, I'm just glad Cole is because I would've killed Brody and Angelo if he was seriously hurt"

"You do know that Cole asked them to do it, don't ya?"

I nod my head.

"Yer, that's what Cole told me"

I closed my eyes as I rub my forehead feeling stressed and annoyed, I still can't get over Cole punishing himself for me.

"Anyway, let's talk about you"

"What about me?"

"Well, you dropped a huge hint this morning that I could possibly be an auntie soon"

"Oh...that"

She said sounding depressed.

Urgh!!, why do I open my mouth sometimes?.

"I'm sorry, Em, I shouldn't have brought it up"

"Oh no Nat, it's ok, really, it's just..."

She sighed sadly.

"I took a pregnancy test before I came here and it was negative...I'm starting to consider giving up, it's obviously not in the cards for me to be a mother"

What? is she joking?.

I grabbed hold of Emily's hand and gently rubbed the back of it with my thumb.

"Don't think like that Em, you just have to be patient besides, you're still young just enjoy being young and carefree with your mate, when the time is right you'll have a baby"

"How can you be so sure, Nat?"

"Because if anyone is destined to be parents, Emily, it's you and Angelo"

She smiled brightly which made me feel better for bringing up this painful subject.

"You're right....just like you and Cole are destined to be parents as well"

I looked at her with a flat face which she chuckled at.

We continued to eat our food whilst talking about various things with the subjects of Cole and pregnancies being off the table.

After we finished eating, we decided to head back to Coles room, a part of me was worried about seeing those three fools again because I just knew they were gonna crack some jokes about me and Cole but I felt better when Lucky said if they did then she'd take over and sort them out.

We arrived at Coles room and I was confused when I saw Cole was out of bed, fully dressed and talking to the doctor.

"Erm excuse me, what the hell is going on here? why are you out of bed?"

"Why do you wanna sit in his lap again?"

Brody joked and I glared at him.

"Brody babe, do you like the way your balls are because I can easily rearrange them for you if you don't?"

Brody's smile dropped and I smirked.

Out of everyone here, Brody and Angelo know better than to wind me up or piss me off because they know what I'm capable of.

"Don't worry about me babe, the doctors letting me go home"

"Are you kidding me?"

I glared at the pack doctor who started to shake from my glare.

"He was whipped with silver not even half a day ago and you think it's ok to release him?"

"Calm down Nat, I'm fine"

"Yer and you look it, Cole...Jesus, Caspers got more colour in his skin tone and he's a bright white ghost"

Everyone chuckled which pissed me off, they wouldn't be laughing if this was their mate.

"A..alpha C..Cole is fine Luna, he just needs to rest until his wolf heals him"

"He's right babe and I'd rather rest at home in my own bed than in this place"

"Well you should have thought about that before you let them two idiots go all Christian Grey on you"

Cole chuckled as he wrapped his arm around my shoulders.

"Come on, babe"

Urgh!!.

He lead us out of the hospital and back to our home.

It was pretty late in the day and I was knackered even though I haven't done anything productive today, well except for saving my mate AGAIN!!, this time from himself.

Anyway, Cole was starving by the time we got back and he was determined to go to bed hungry because he didn't want to go to the packhouse and see his parents.

I didn't feel right to let him go to bed without eating so I told him to go and shower and I'll make him something to eat, Cole looked shocked when I offered to make him something but his shock quickly turned to excitement and he ran up the stairs like his ass was on fire.

I chuckled as I walked into the kitchen, I got all of the ingredients that I needed out and got to work making him one of his favourite meals, a medium-rare steak with vegetables, potatoes and a couple of fried eggs, I know that it may seem like a lot but for an alpha wolf, this is actually considered an appetiser.

After plating up the food, I went over to the table and was startled when I heard a voice behind me.

"I could get used to this"

I turned around and looked at Cole confused.

"Get used to what?"

"To you making me food after a long day"

He came over to me and gently gripped my chin.

"To us being together...to you being mine"

"But we're not together Cole and I'm not yours"

"Not yet"

He smirked before letting go of my chin and sitting down at the table.

"Are you not having anything to eat, babe?"

"No, I've already eaten"

"Oh, ok"

I cleaned up my mess and tried to leave so that I could have a shower but Cole stopped me, he wanted me to sit with him because he didn't want to eat alone...men, they can't do anything on their own, can they?.

We talked about the day's events amongst Coles moans and constant compliments over how delicious my cooking is.

He also asked me about whether I've calmed down and reconsidered killing Brody and Angelo yet, to be honest, as much as I want to cause them pain for hurting Cole, I can't because A) it wasn't their fault, they were just doing what Cole told them to do and B) I love the idiots too much to hurt them.

"That was f*****g delicious, babe, where did you learn to cook so good?"

"Are you kidding me, Cole?....I used to cook all the time for the pack before I ran away"

"Really, that was you? I just assumed it was the omegas"

I shake my head no.

"No, it was me, well, not all the times, Emily would cover for me and cook for the times I couldn't"

"Oh really, like when?"

"Like when I was too injured to do anything or if I was sick or like she did on my birthday after I'd passed out in the woods because of..."

I looked at Cole who was staring at me intently.

"Because of nothing"

"Nothing"

"Mm-hmm"

"You just randomly passed out in the woods for no reason"

"Yes"

Cole narrowed his eyes at me and I could tell he was thinking back to that day, I just hoped that he wouldn't click on as to why because only two things happened that day that could've caused me to pass out at that time and I know now that he's not proud of either of those events.

"Don't think too hard Cole, you'll hurt yourself"

"Cheeky bitch"

He says with a chuckle, I stand up and grab hold of the dirty dishes taking them over to the sink, I quickly wash them before excusing myself and going up to my bedroom to have a shower.

It felt so good having a nice steaming hot shower feeling my muscles relax under the heat, today has been super stressful which it wasn't supposed to be, I was supposed to go shopping with Emily and the only stressful moments were supposed to be how many shoes I should buy? or how many of the same lingerie sets I should buy in different colours? but instead, I was stuck stressing over my stupid mate thanks to my stupid brother and stupid best friend.

After having my shower, I change into some fresh underwear and some short pyjamas, I then go back into my bedroom and blow dry my hair back to my natural beach waves.

Knock!!, knock!!, knock!!.

"Come in"

"Hey babe"

"Hey Cole, what's up?"

I ask whilst brushing my hair up into a ponytail.

"I erm...I wanna ask you something"

"Ok, what is it?"

He was acting shifty like he was nervous but I don't understand why he'd be nervous.

"Cole, what's wrong?"

"I erm...I was just wondering if erm, maybe you could sleep with me in my room tonight"

"What? why?"

Cole scratched the back of his head nervously.

"Well, the pack doctor reckons that I'll heal a lot quicker if I'm...if we're erm..."

"If we're what?"

Cole looked up at me looking deep into my eyes.

"If we're close to one another, he believes that the closer we are, the faster my wolf will wake up and heal me"

"Cole, I don't think..."

"Please Nat, please stay with him"

Huh.

"Lucky, why do you want me to sleep with him?"

"Because I want Ace to wake up and besides, you're just putting off the inevitable anyway"

Urgh!!, stupid wolf.

"I heard that"

"You were supposed too"

I looked at Cole who was looking at me with desperation clear in his eyes.

"Ok fine"

"Thanks, babe"

He said with a huge smile on his face but I could tell that he was dying to smirk.

"Just give me a second, ok"

"Ok"

I went over to my bed and put my slippers on whilst grabbing hold of my phone.

"Ok, let's go"

We left my room and got into the elevator which is taking us to the fourth floor.

"Why's your room on the fourth floor?"

"Correction babe, it's our room and I've got my reasons"

"Oh yer, what are they?"

"Well...all I can say, babe, is that I like my privacy, this floor is only for me and you"

I didn't understand what he meant at first but when I eventually did, I gasped whilst slapping his chest.

"Cole, you're disgusting"

He chuckled loudly.

"Why because I want some privacy when I want to make love to my mate or have alone time with you?"

"Yes urgh!!, you're so ridiculous"

"Whatever you say, babe"

The elevator stops and we get out.

Cole lead us both over to a big gold door which has got A and L carved into it in cursive writing, he opens up the door and gestured for me to walk in, when I did, I was blown away by how gorgeous and luxurious the room is, it's a room fit for royalty.

"Wow"

"What do you think, babe?"

"It's absolutely gorgeous"

I said whilst looking around the room in awe.

"I told you our room is better than yours"

I look over at Cole who was smirking.

"Make yourself comfy, babe, I'm gonna go and have a quick shower"

"Ok"

Cole went into what I assume is the en-suite bathroom and I got inside the right side of the bed which might I add, is the comfiest freaking bed ever.

Even though I'm feeling exhausted, I decided to do a little reading before going asleep, I got up one of my favourite reading apps and started reading one of my favourite books in my library.

One Hour Later...

I was so engrossed in my book that I didn't realise Cole was finished with his shower until I felt the bed dip next to me and smelled his intoxicating scent.

"What are you reading?"

"A book"

"Hmm....what's it about?"

"An arrogant alpha who rejects his mate because he thinks she's unworthy only to regret his decision when she runs away....sound familiar"

I look over at Cole with a slight smirk on my face.

"Very funny"

"You asked"

He gets into the bed and switches off the light.

I put my phone on the side and get comfy, well, I was comfy up until Cole decided to pull me practically on top of him.

"Cole"

"What?"

"You're an asshole, do you know that?"

"Oh come on Nat, don't act like you don't like this"

"Whatever"

Cole chuckled as he kissed my forehead whilst running his hand through my hair.

I can't even deny it, this felt so good, I always knew having moments like this with my mate would be nice and pleasurable but I didn't realise how nice it would be.

"This is nice"

"It sure is....we could've been doing this a long time ago if it wasn't for Angelo"

"Huh, what do you mean?"

Cole let out a sigh.

"Well, if Angelo hadn't lied to me and had told me where you were all along then I would've found you sooner and maybe we could've started repairing our relationship and maybe we would have marked and mated with each other by now"

"You can't live in maybes Cole....besides, Angelo was just protecting me, it's not his fault"

Cole once again kissed my forehead before resting his head against mine.

"I know babe, I just wish things could've been different for us"

"Me too"

I said with a yawn before falling into a deep, peaceful slumber.

"Goodnight, babe"

The Next Morning...

"You're the man but I got the, I got the, I got the power, you make rain but I make it, I make it, I make it shower, you should know, I'm the one who's in control, I'll let you come take the wheel, long as you don't forget...."

"Urgh!!, it's too early Em"

I cancel the call and immediately lay back down, I subconsciously started feeling around the left side of the bed for Cole but it was empty, it didn't shock or surprise me that he was gone because he's an alpha after all, I've even heard rumours that Cole gets up as early as four in the morning to either workout or do alpha work, what a weirdo.

Unable to go back to sleep, I get up, put my slippers on and grab my phone, I then head back down to my room and go into the en-suite bathroom to have a quick wash, I brush my teeth and wash my face before brushing my hair.

I then head downstairs to make us some breakfast because goddess knows your highness wouldn't have made himself anything to eat, anyway, I was barely down the stairs when I was startled by the doorbell ringing.

Urgh!!, I bet that's Emily.

I went over to the door and answered it but no one was there, I looked around expecting to see someone walking away but I saw nothing, there wasn't even any sounds except for the birds singing.

I was about to close the door when I noticed a baby pink gift box with a black ribbon on it, I picked it up and saw that it had agent provocateur written on it, wait....isn't that a lingerie store?.

I picked the box up and closed the door, I noticed there was an envelope tucked into the black ribbon which had my name written on it, I placed the box on the side table and opened up the envelope, I was deeply disturbed by what the note said and felt like I was gonna be sick by not only what it said but also when I saw who it was signed by.

"Shit, COLE!!"

I grabbed the box and ran up to Coles office using my werewolf speed.

When I got there, I burst through the door startling Cole who was immediately panicked upon seeing how distressed I am.

"Natalia, what's wrong, babe?"

"Cole, I..I..I, oh goddess"

I was so panicked that I could barely speak or get a sentence out.

"Relax Nattie, take a deep breath"

I close my eyes and take several deep breaths until I felt a lot calmer.

"Now tell me, what's wrong?"

"I erm...I found this on our doorstep"

Cole looked down at the gift box and I could tell he was confused as well, he takes the box from me and places it on his desk, he then opens it up and both of our eyes widened, mine in horror and Coles in anger.

"Please tell me Brodys doing this as a joke"

"This isn't Brody, Cole, I promise"

"How do you know?"

I was hesitant to show him the note at first because I knew he'd flip out but I had too.

"Because of this"

Cole looks down at me before looking at my shaking hand, he gently placed his hand on mine as he took the note with the other.

Cole opened the note and read it, his anger rising with each word that he read, I know this because his grip on the note tightened as his jaw clenched tightly whilst his face became red from how angry he is.

"BASTARD!!"

He growled as he scrunched the note up and started to destroy his office.

"Cole stop"

He continued to growl as he flipped furniture over, smashed glass ornaments and destroyed framed photos that were on the wall.

I was worried and scared, I've never seen Cole this angry.

"I'M GONNA f*****g KILL HIM!!, ARRRGH!!, HOW DARE HE THREATEN TO TAKE AWAY WHAT'S MINE"

"Cole, please stop, you're scaring me"

I didn't know what to say or do, I had hoped that Cole would either sense my fear or hear what I said and it would calm him down but no he carried on being destructive.

Lucky kept on nagging me to stop him and calm him down but I didn't know how, I did have an idea but I was hesitant to do it.

"f*****g DO IT, NATALIA!!"

Urgh!!.

I approached Cole who was using his desk as a boxing bag.

"Cole"

I placed my hand on his shoulder and flinched when he turned around screaming at me.

"WHAT?...WHAT, NATALIA?"

His eyes were filled with so much anger which would normally have me backing off away from him and panicking but I knew deep down that his anger wasn't aimed at me which made me feel better about doing what I did next.

I grabbed Cole by his face and smashed my lips against his.

At first, Cole was unresponsive to the kiss, he was probably in shock that I'm willingly kissing him but he eventually got over it and kissed me back as he ran his hands all over my body whilst I wrapped one of my arms around his neck and gently caressed his face with my free hand.

I felt Cole's muscles relax as his body became less stiff.

I knew that the kiss wasn't gonna last forever and he was gonna get angry again but at least for now he was calm and distracted from that god awful mess that's sitting on his desk.
