Chapter 27 - I Wish I'd Stayed Asleep.

My body was shaking, my breathing was rapid and my heart was racing so fast that I thought I was gonna have a panic attack.

"Natalia...it's so good to see you"

"S..stay away from me"

I panicked and accidentally backed up into a table knocking over a vase.

SMASH!!.

"Nat"

Cole raced over and stood next to me wrapping his arm around my waist, a part of me wanted to push him away but the other part of me didn't because strangely enough, I felt safer with Cole by my side then I do on my own in front of these people.

"It's ok, Nat"

Cole tried to reassure me but it wasn't working.

"Natalia baby, please don't be scared of us, I promise we just..."

"Are you kidding me?"

I chuckled slightly even though I found nothing about this situation funny.

"You've done nothing but abuse and torture me for twelve years and now you're standing there telling me not to be scared of you"

"We just want to apologise to you, bebita"

"Yes baby, we want you to know how sorry we are"

"Well, you've apologised now go"

I turned around and started walking away but stopped when I felt a tight grip on my arm.

"Natalia, please listen to us..."

Cole grabbed his mothers hand and removed it from my arm, he then pushed her away from me but he made sure not to use too much force with her, she's still his mother at the end of the day.

"Don't touch my mate ever again, do you hear me?"

"Mate? you guys are mates?"

Coles momma looked at us with happy and excited eyes even though her face was contorted to shock.

"Yes momma we are, I'm surprised your husband didn't tell you"

"Well, I would've done had I not spent the last couple of weeks in hospital with my jaw wired shut because of you and your temper"

"My temper? are you being f*****g serious, dad?"

Cole was pissed and wanted to hurt his dad but luckily for him, I stepped in and stopped Cole from going after him again.

I grabbed hold of Cole's hand and placed my free hand on his chest to calm him down which it did, well, sort of, he was still pretty pissed with his parents but what I don't understand is why? and why did he beat his father up?.

"Cole"

Cole looked down at me and for a brief moment, I was frightened of him because of how angry his eyes were but they quickly softened upon seeing how frightened I was, he then closed his eyes and took several deep breaths to calm down.

I sighed in relief when I felt his heartbeat slow down but it was still beating a little faster than normal which I'm guessing is because I'm touching him, I tried to remove my hand from his chest but Cole stopped me by grabbing hold of my hand and holding it in place.

Cole looked at his parents and I felt his anger start to rise again and not just from his heartbeat but also his feelings which is odd because even though mates can feel what the other is feeling, it's not as strong when the bond has been weakened and what I'm feeling right not is very strong it's almost like our bond was never broken, it could be my empath power but I'm not sure.

"I didn't beat you up because of my temper dad, I beat you up because of what you and your wife did to my mate"

"W..we n..never..."

"Save it, momma, I know exactly what you two did to Natalia"

"Oh and you're any better are you, Cole? we're not the only ones who abused her, you did too along with everyone else in this pack"

"Not everyone"

I whispered.

I wanted to speak strongly so that I could stick up for Angelo who always protected me but I guess my fear of these people is stronger.

"You're right dad, I did abuse her, I bullied her and I did the worst thing that a man could ever do to his mate and I rejected her which is something that I'll forever regret and feel guilty for whether I get her back or not"

He looked down at me and my heart skipped a beat when I saw the look in his eyes.

"But what I did, is nothing compared to what you guys did to her"

"Wh..what do you mean?"

His momma stuttered looking frightened, I don't know why? Cole doesn't know about them taking me to the torture room and I hope he never does.

"You know exactly what I mean, momma"

Cole removed my hand from his chest as he moved away from me walking over to his mother.

I was worried about what was going to happen and I just hoped that what was going on in my head wasn't actually gonna happen...even if they both deserved it.

"You took her to the torture room"

I gasped, how did he find out?.

"Cole, how did you...."

"It doesn't matter how I know, babe"

He said whilst quickly glancing at me before turning back to his parents.

"The point is I know and that's why I beat your husband up because you had taken not only my mate but your daughter to the torture room"

"Cole, baby I..."

"Save it, momma, I don't wanna hear your excuses....dad already told me why you both took her there and to be honest, they f*****g suck"

Cole's voice started to get shaky which shocked me, Coles a strong guy and never shows weakness to anybody including his parents.

"She was your daughter, you raised her from a baby....how could you do that to her?"

"It was a mistake, we regret it so much...Nattie bebita, please believe us..."

"DON'T TALK TO HER!!....DON'T EVER TALK TO HER AGAIN!!, DO YOU HEAR ME?"

"She's our daughter, Cole"

"No, I'm not"

Everyone looked at me and I tried my hardest to stay strong and not show any weaknesses.

"I'm not your daughter, I'm...I'm just some kid you raised because I was left on your property, that's why you never believed me when Aubrey told you all of those lies"

"No baby, I swear..."

"STOP LYING TO ME!!"

I backed up when Coles mother tried to approach me, I accidentally backed up into the couch and I fell over landing on the glass from the broken vase.

I groaned in pain as I held my arm which was bleeding, Cole raced over to me as he worriedly shouted my name.

"Are you ok, babe?"

"I'm fine"

We both looked down at my arm and watched as my wounds quickly healed.

"H..how did you do that?...h..how did you heal so fast?"

I look up at my ex-parents and glared at them, I then stood up with help from Cole.

"I'm a royal...we heal easily"

"Wh..what?"

"You heard me"

"Natalia, what are you talking about?"

I look up at a very confused Cole, I was torn between whether or not I should tell him about what I saw in my coma or wait but in the end, I decided to tell him since my real momma told me that she along with the rest of my family are coming for me.

"Nattie baby, talk to me"

Cole cupped my face as he gently rubbed his thumb over my chin.

"I saw my momma Cole, my REAL momma"

He looked at me shocked.

"What? when?"

"In my coma...I was watching something, a future event and she appeared to me, she told me who I really am"

"And who are you?"

I was hesitant to tell him because a small part of me was worried that he'd only want me because of who I am but Lucky quickly reassured me telling me that Cole wants me for me and that Ace is forever telling her how desperate Cole is for us to be together because he loves me and wants a future with me.

"I'm part of the royal family Cole, my parents are King Koa and Queen Tia"

Cole was shocked.

"H..how...how do you know this?"

He asked whilst clearing is throat.

"I told you, I saw my mother whilst I was in a coma"

"I know that babe, I heard you, it's just..."

Cole fell silent as he looked away confused, I could tell from his eyes that he was trying to figure out how I saw my mother considering it's impossible for someone who is still alive to appear to somebody else who's in a coma.

"He wants to know how it's possible, Nat"

Coles dad said with anger and jealousy dripping from his tone.

"She's a witch...she used a spell to locate me since I've tapped into my own witch side but instead of it bringing her to where I was physically, it brought her to my subconscious and that's where she told me who I am, she even showed me the moment when I was born"

"Soooo...you're a princess, a real one"

I nod my head.

Cole was shocked but his parents weren't, I was confused as to why but then I remembered something that Angelo said when he told me the truth about my family.

"You both knew...didn't you?....is that why you never told me I wasn't your daughter and why you planned to keep your mouths shut about it because you knew what the consequences were for harming a royal?"

"No...no, I promise you, Natalia it wasn't like that, we love you, we always have"

"YOU ABUSED ME!!....you abused me, you tortured me and you left me for dead in that rat hole you forced me to live in ever since I was six years old so don't stand there and tell me you love me and always have because biological parent or not, you would have never hurt me in any way if you did and you would've never allowed anyone else too either....you also would've believed my word over Aubreys if you love me as much as you claim you do"

"Natalia"

"Leave me alone"

I turn around and briskly head upstairs away from them.

I went up to my bedroom and flopped on my bed, I'm so exhausted.

"It's not surprising Nattie pie, you're still recovering from a major injury even though I've healed you, you still need to rest"

"Urgh!!, I hate rogues"

"Me too, Nattie, me too, now rest"

Lucky didn't need to tell me twice, I closed my eyes and instantly fell asleep.

Cole's P.O.V.

"Cole son, please listen to us, we mean Natalia no harm..."

"Get out"

"What? Cole please"

"I said get out, this is Natalias home and I want her to feel safe here and evidently she doesn't feel safe whilst you two are here"

"Watch how you speak to us boy, we're still your parents"

"Why? what are you gonna do to me if I don't, dad?"

I got up in my father's face which he didn't appreciate at all but I didn't care, he's a threat to my mate and if he's a threat to her then that means he's a threat to me.

"Are you gonna beat me up? are you gonna drag me to the torture room? no, you won't because I'm bigger and stronger than the both of you put together and I'm a hell of a lot stronger than that poor girl upstairs"

"Cole, please honey..."

"No momma, I don't wanna hear it...Natalia is my life, she's my mate and I know that I've done her wrong in the past but I plan on fixing that"

I run my hand through my hair in frustration.

"Can you please leave? I wanna go and check on my mate"

"Cole..."

"Look if you don't leave now then I'll have no other option than to call some of my warriors to come and throw you both in my dungeons"

"You wouldn't dare, we're your parents"

"And Natalia was your daughter but that didn't stop you both from taking her to the torture room, did it?"

My parents faces dropped.

"I'm gonna go and check on Natalia, I want you both gone by the time I come back down"

I walk away and head upstairs to my mate's room, the floor was silent but I could hear a very calm and steady heartbeat which can only mean one thing.

I open up Natalia's door and smiled when I saw her sleeping, she was laying in the fetal position with her head laying on her arm.

As I walked over to her bed, I couldn't help but notice how calm she looked which is a first for me, normally Natalia is everything but calm and I don't blame her, it doesn't surprise me that she's like a tensed wolf constantly in the defence position after everything she's been through so it's nice to see her this calm and relaxed.

"I'm gonna protect you, baby, even if I have to die trying...you mean the world to me"

I whispered the last bit as I gently caressed Natalias face tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear.

I don't know how long I sat watching Natalia sleep but I know that it was a while because I noticed the sun going down from the window, I decided to leave because I didn't want to freak my mate out when she woke up, I gently kissed her temple before standing up and placing a blanket over her.

I then left Natalias room and went straight to my office to make a few phone calls, alpha James told me that Natalia was the daughter of a royal but I never dreamed she was the daughter of the king and queen of all supernaturals, I just assumed her parents were the king and queen of werewolves.

Each supernatural has got their own royalty who have been appointed by king Koa and queen Tia to keep the peace amongst all supernaturals but at the end of the day there's only one king and queen of all shifters and that's Koa and Tia, I can't believe my mate is their long lost daughter.

A Few Days Later....

Natalia's P.O.V.

"Urgh!!, you're such a heartless human being Natalia Isabella Vasquez"

"Why?"

I asked with a chuckle.

"Because you're not crying, how can you not cry?"

"Because Em, we've seen all three of the movies and we know that they stay together in the end"

"I know but it's still so sad that Gabriella left Troy....DAMN YOU SHARPAY EVANS!!"

I flinched when she shouted.

"Relax Em, it's just a movie and like I said before, they get back together in the end so all is right in the world"

"I guess you're right"

Urgh!!, dramatic bitch.

"Speaking of getting back together..."

"Don't"

"What?"

"Don't ask me what you're about to ask me because I won't answer"

"Meanie"

Emily says throwing a strop and I chuckle.

For the past few days, everything between myself and Cole has been great, we've been getting along better than usual and we're able to speak to each other in a civil manner without an argument breaking out or the past being brought up, unfortunately because of this, everyone thinks that we've secretly got together and mated and they keep bugging us to find out if it's true or not.

"FOR THE LAST TIME ANGELO, WE'RE NOT BACK TOGETHER!!"

See what I mean.

"OH COME ON BROTHER YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIE, WE'VE ALL SEEN HOW YOU AND NATTIE ARE WITH EACH OTHER!!"

"SERIOUSLY ANGELO THINK ABOUT IT, IF MYSELF AND NATTIE WERE BACK TOGETHER, DO YOU REALLY THINK I'D KEEP SOMETHING LIKE THAT QUIET? I'D BE SCREAMING IT FROM THE FREAKING ROOFTOPS, FOR f***s SAKE!!"

Myself and Emily share a look, Emily looked like she was about to burst with excitement.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

She shrugged her shoulders and turned back to face the television, everything was quiet except for the sounds of our breathing and the boys retreating footsteps.

"Cole and Nattie sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G..."

"Shut up Emily..."

"First comes love..."

"Emily, I'm warning you..."

"Then comes marriage..."

"Emily, stop..."

"Then comes Nattie with the baby carriage...AAHHH!!, why did you hit me?"

"Don't be such a baby, I didn't hit you that hard besides, I warned you and you didn't listen"

"I'm gonna go and tell Angelo"

She stood up and walked away.

"You do that Emily, I'm Angelos princess, he won't hurt me"

"Well, maybe I'll tell Cole and he'll give you a good spanking"

I pick up a pillow throwing it at Emily as she runs away chuckling.

Urgh!!, it's days like today where I wish that I'd just stayed asleep because there was less drama, less annoying friends and NO stupid feelings for my stupid mate.

I hate to admit it but things between myself and Cole have been going so good lately that my feelings for him have started to grow and I'm finding it really hard to stay away from him, Lucky keeps telling me that I've fallen in love with him but I refuse to believe it because it's not normal, am I right? it's not normal to be in love with someone who caused me so much pain....urgh!!, I think I need to have a nap.
