Chapter 13 - One Bad Thing After Another - Part 2.

"Natalia's here b..but you said...."

"I lied"

I sigh feeling my shoulders drop.

"I lied to you"

Cole looks shocked and hurt that I'd lie to him but he can't honestly blame me right, I mean any good person would lie if it meant keeping someone they love safe.

"Why? why would you lie to me?"

"Seriously, Cole"

I use all of my strength to push him away from me which didn't take much to be honest, considering we've both got alpha genes.

"Are you seriously asking me that question, Cole? you and the rest of our pack have spent the past twelve years beating, abusing, bullying, torturing and doing god knows what else to my baby sister and the sad part about it is that it was all orchestrated by her own f*****g family"

"And you were a saint were you Angelo? you never did anything to hurt her?"

"Actually, no I didn't because unlike you asshole, I truly love and care for Natalia"

"Yet you stood by and watched us hurt her, over and over and over again, why is that? if you truly and honestly love and care for her as much as you say you do, why would you stand by and watch us all repeatedly hurt her?"

"BECAUSE I HAD NO OTHER CHOICE, COLE, DAD USED HIS ALPHA COMMAND ON ME, IF I EVEN TRIED TO STOP ANY OF YOU FROM HURTING HER THEN HE WOULD'VE EITHER BANISHED ME FROM THE PACK OR KILLED NAT!!"

"What? what do you mean?"

I run my hand through my hair and tug on it.

"How much more clearer can I make it, Cole? our father threatened to banish me from our pack or kill Natalia if I tried to do anything to stop her torture, that's why I couldn't say or do anything to help her but f**k me I wish I could have"

"Dad wouldn't have done either of those things, Angelo, he wouldn't"

"No, then why would he use his alpha command on me, his own son?"

That silenced Cole but sadly not for long.

"Where is she?"

"Out"

"Where Angelo?"

I go over to the minibar and get myself a drink, I pour myself a glass of vodka and down it in one go.

"She's gone out with a friend"

"What friend? her only friend is upstairs pissing in her panties because I'm here"

I throw my glass at him missing him by an inch.

"Whoa, calm down there, Angelo, I was just joking"

"No you weren't, now leave Emily out of it or I swear to god, Cole, I'll kill you"

"Ok, ok fine just tell me who Natalia is out with?"

"She's with a friend"

"Ok, well get this friend to bring her back"

"Why?"

"Well apart from the fact that I want to see my mate who I've been dying to see for over three months now, we need to tell her about nanny and grandpa"

I close my eyes as I remember the reason why he's here, I can't believe my grandparents are dead.

"Angelo, get my mate home, NOW!!"

"Don't you mean your ex-mate?"

Cole glares at me which to a normal person it would have them bowing their heads and showing their necks in submission but with me being an alpha wolf, it doesn't affect me.

"Angelo, don't f*****g push me ok, I'm this close to f*****g killing someone, now get Natalia home right this second otherwise I'll go out there and drag her ass home myself"

Urgh!!.

"Fine"

I growl out through gritted teeth, I then mind link Brody and my sister and tell them to get home as soon as possible, they didn't seem happy but agreed to come home anyway.

One Hour Later....

The sound of a car pulling up is heard and I start to feel nauseous.

"They're here"

Alpha James confirms not making me feel any better.

"Ok, stay here and let me talk to her first"

"Why?"

Cole whines like a little baby.

"Because I said so, Cole"

I walk out of the living room just as the door opens and the sight in front of me had my heartbreaking and my whole body filling with f*****g anger.

"What the f**k happened here?"

"A rogue attacked us"

I look at Brody who looks perfectly fine and then at my sister who looks awful.

"Us? as far as I can see there's only one person who's injured here, Brody, what the hell? I trusted you with my baby sister and this happens"

"Chill out, Angelo will ya? it's just a few cuts and scratches, it's no biggy besides Brody saved me"

No biggy, is she being f*****g serious?.

"Oh yer, where are his injuries then Nat?"

"I was able to heal myself, she can't because the rogue somehow got wolfsbane into her"

Shit.

"Wolfsbane? how's that possible?"

"We don't know, now if you don't mind, I'm going to bed, I'm f****d"

"No, you're not Natalia, you're going to the infirmary"

Natalia groaned and I could see she was about to pitch a fit but unfortunately she didn't get a chance too.

"No, I'm not I'm fi..."

"Natalia"

I watched Natalia's body freeze after hearing Coles voice, she looked stoic in the face but her eyes held nothing but pure fear which hurt me to see, Natalia is a very strong girl and I'm not just talking about her genetics, she's a naturally strong girl and a born fighter but when it comes to our family, she's nothing but a scared little kitten.

I tried to gain eye contact with Natalia so I could assure her in some way that everything was gonna be ok but she closed her eyes and started muttering something under her breath which if I were a human I wouldn't have been able to make out but as a werewolf, I could hear every word and it hurt and saddened me to hear my baby sister pleading to our moon goddess.

"Please goddess, please no"

Natalia slowly turned around and stumbled a little which I'm hoping is due to her injuries and or the wolfsbane that is in her system because I'll be seriously pissed off if I find out that she's been drinking whilst she was out with Brody.

I look at my brother who is a bubble of mixed emotions but he looks so incredibly happy and relieved to finally see his mate again, Nattie on the other hand....not so much.

"You've gotta be shitting me"

Natalia said before her body went limp.

"NATALIA!!"

I shouted as I use my werewolf speed to catch my sister before she hit the marble floor.

"Shit Natalia...Nattie...Nat, f**k!!"

I stand up as best as I can whilst holding Natalia bridal style, I then rush out of the packhouse to the infirmary using my werewolf speed not giving a f**k as to who is following me, my main priority right now is my sister and luckily for us, we've got a hospital built on our grounds just like at my parent's house only ours isn't as big as theirs.

When I get to the hospital, I burst through the doors and scream for help, within seconds, several nurses were by me one of whom had a gurney which I put my sister on and the pack doctor appeared out of nowhere to take my sister to the emergency room, I wanted to stop him and ask him if my sister was ok but my wolf stopped me and reminded me that my sister had been bitten and the sooner she was treated the better.

"Hey bro, how is she?"

"I don't know, she's in the emergency room...they're working on her right now"

I told him with a sigh.

"How good are the doctors here?"

I look at my brother when I hear a lot of pain in his voice and I swear I saw tears in his eyes which is a first for him, he's never cried a day in his life even when he was telling me about our grandparent's death, he was very stoic and barely showed any emotion.

"They're the best, our pack doctor trained with yours, he's one of the best doctors in the whole world"

"He? it's a f*****g man"

I mentally rolled my eyes at my brother, now isn't the time for him to be a jealous alpha wolf.

"Yes and he's the best doctor in this pack Cole, so if I was you I'd calm not only yourself down but your wolf as well otherwise you'll end up killing the only person who can help our Nattie"

Cole snapped his head to me with a terrifying glare on his face, I could tell from his eyes that he was trying really hard to control himself because he can't do his whole respect your alpha speech on me even though I know he's dying too.

"Well, he'd better keep his hands to himself, Angelo otherwise I'll kill him"

"He's gotta touch her Cole, he can't help her if he doesn't"

I tell him with a chuckle.

"You know what I mean, idiot"

"Yer I do, unfortunately, though he's not the one you should be worried about"

Cole looks at me confused.

"What do you mean?"

"Well...."

"Angelo, where is she? is she ok?"

I turn around and see Brody and Emily briskly walking towards us, as soon as Emily saw my brother she quickly hid behind Brody who seemed confused by her behaviour.

"Are you ok, Em? what's wrong?"

"N..n..nothing"

Brody looks between myself and Cole several times looking even more confused each time he looks at Cole, I was hoping he wouldn't ask who he is but I know that the probability of that happening is slim to none.

"Who the hell are you?"

And there's the question I was hoping wouldn't be asked.

"I'm alpha Cole Vasquez, Angelos brother and Natalias...AAHHH!!"

Brody punched Cole and the pair started fighting right in the middle of the hallway, I tried to stop them but at the end of the day, I'm only one man so I ordered Emily to go and get alpha James and some warriors.

"BASTARD!!, YOU f*****g BASTARD!!"

Punch after punch, kick after kick, insult after insult, Brody attacked my brother and he gave back just as good as he was getting, luckily back up came just in time when I saw Brody's claws extend and reaching for Cole's throat.

"BRODY, NO!!"

Alpha James rushed towards his beta and pulled him off Cole, he forced him against the nearest wall pinning his arms down, a part of me was worried for both Brody and Cole because of how Brody reacted to Coles sudden appearance, he's acting like a rabid animal who is dying to kill but the other part of me was really proud to see how much Brody cared for my sister and how he'd do anything to look after her and protect her.

"Calm down Brody will ya, this is a f*****g hospital not a boxing ring"

"I don't care, James, I wanna kill that bastard"

"I know you do but you can't because if you hurt him then you hurt Nattie and she's already in enough pain"

This seems to calm Brody down and I swear when I looked at his eyes I saw panic and fear flash in them, now I know what Emily meant when she said she could tell by Brody's eyes how much my sister means to him...he's worried about her and I mean genuinely worried about her, goddess I just hope he's not in love with her because if he is then that won't end well for Nat when he finds his mate.

"How is she?"

Alpha James lets Brody go and he readjusts his shirt and jacket which was all messed up from the fight.

"We don't know, the pack doctor is treating her as we speak"

There was silence for a few minutes until I spoke up asking Brody a question that has been burning inside of me ever since I saw them walk through the front door.

"What the hell happened tonight, Brody? how did a rogue even find you guys let alone attack you both?"

Brody sighed as he looked at each of us, I was dying to laugh when I saw the glare he was giving Cole but I held it back.

"I don't know....all I know is that one minute we were having a great time and the next minute, the rogue appeared out of nowhere and attacked us"

"Why were you out with Nat in the first place?"

"Cole"

I growled wanting him to shut up, the most important thing right now is our Nattie getting better and finding out anything we can on this attack, not him and his petty jealousy.

Cole shrugs his shoulders as he mouths 'what?' to me, I roll my eyes at him, he's really starting to get on my nerves.

"Could it have been a random attack?"

Cole asks which makes sense but at the same time, something doesn't feel right about the whole thing.

"Can't be, rogues don't come onto my land they're too afraid too"

This makes absolutely no sense.

"Did he say anything, anything that could help us find out who he is or who sent him?"

"Well he didn't say anything about who he is or who sent him but he did say something?"

"What did he say?"

Brody looked down as he shifted his weight from one foot to the other.

"He erm...he said that she has to die"

"Who has to die?"

Brody rolls his eyes looking annoyed.

"Ariana f*****g Grande, who the f**k do you think moron?"

"Who the f**k do you think you're you talking too, asshole?"

"The jackass standing right in front of me, that's who"

Brody and Cole square up to each other and I thought for a second they were gonna start fighting again but luckily, our warriors managed to stop them and held them back away from each other.

"Alright you guys stop this, fighting isn't gonna help Natalia"

"Alpha James is right, Natalia is the most important person here right now"

"To some of us, she is"

Brody mutters.

"And what's that supposed to mean?"

"I mean to us"

Brody says whilst gesturing to himself, Emily, me and alpha James.

"She means the world to us whereas to you....Natalia means as much to you as Rockys boxing bag meant to him"

"Oh really, you've known Nattie for a whole five minutes and you think you love her more than me"

"Actually, yes I do because I would never dream of doing half the things you've done to her, Cole"

Cole smirks at Brody.

"She told you about me?"

"Yer she did, the bad, badder and all the nasty, gory, ugly bits"

"That means she still feels something for me then if she's talking about me"

Brody started to laugh hysterically causing Coles smirk to instantly drop.

"Yer I doubt that considering her tongue is practically dripping with acid and venom whenever she talks about you"

Ouch, that must've hurt and I'm guessing it did from the look on Cole's face.

"Beta Vasquez"

"Yes doc, is everything ok? is my sister ok?"

"She's gonna be fine Angelo, she suffered from a huge bite mark on her shoulder and she's got four broken ribs but other than that it's just a lot of cuts and bruises"

"How deep was the bite mark?"

The pack doctor looks at my brother warily seeing as he's never met him before but when he realises he's an alpha, he quickly bows his head and welcomes him.

"It was quite deep, if Angelo hadn't brought her in when he did then there's a chance she could've died"

f**k!!.

And my stubborn sister said she was ok and was planning to go to bed.

BANG!!.

"Cole, calm down"

"Calm down, CALM DOWN!!, HOW CAN I CALM DOWN ANGELO WHEN MY MATE COULD'VE DIED?"

"YES SHE COULD HAVE BUT SHE DIDN'T SO CALM YOUR ASS DOWN WILL YA!!"

I return my attention back to the pack doctor who looked scared which doesn't shock me, Coles anger especially when you hurt someone he loves is like all of the Greek gods getting angry at the same time, it's enough to shake the entire world.

"Can we see her doc?"

"Sure, she's currently sleeping but she should wake up soon"

"What about the wolfsbane, doc? is that out of her system yet?"

"Not yet alpha but by my estimation, the wolfsbane should be out of her system by tonight"

"Thanks, doc"

The pack doctor leaves and my anxiety spikes when I see Cole about to walk into Natalia's room.

"Hey, woah, where the hell are you going?"

"I'm going to see my mate"

"No, you're not"

"Yes I am"

"No, you're not"

"Give me one good reason why I can't, Angelo?"

"Because she's afraid of you"

Shit Brody, seriously?, Cole looked hurt by Brody's words and I'm not surprised, it would kill me if I was told that Emily was afraid of me.

"Look Cole, Natalia has been through a hell of a lot and I'm not just talking about tonight, the last thing she needs to see when she wakes up is you"

Cole looked like he'd been physically punched by each of my words, he looked so hurt but he didn't show it for too long.

"Ok fine"

Cole left the hospital and I felt guilty but what can I do, I'm being torn in two different places and right now, Nattie needs me more than my brother does.
