Chapter 6 - The Truth.

3 hours, 24 minutes and 16 seconds, that's how long I've been in alpha James office with him, his Luna Amy, his beta Brody, Emily and my brother, I thought this wouldn't take long and I'd be able to go to sleep in my new comfy bed but nope, alpha James wanted to know everything and I mean everything about mine and Emily's lives and what happened in the past few days that made us want to leave.

"This Aubrey girl sounds like a right bitch"

"Babe!!"

"What? she does"

I chuckle at Amy and so does Angelo and Emily.

"Oh trust me she is and sadly she's my brother's girlfriend as well, I just hope that they're not mates because our pack will be doomed with her at the helm"

"She's that bad?"

"Look at my face Brody, this is what happens when you stand up to that psycho and she throws a strop to Cole because the dimwit couldn't hit her way out of a wet paper bag"

Everyone chuckles.

"So, what happened the day you guys left? you both seem like strong girls to have put up with so much abuse for so long....what was your breaking point?"

I look over at Angelo who was staring at me intently, I wasn't sure if I wanted to tell him because I didn't want him to hate our parents and I knew they'd hate me even more for turning one of their golden boys against them but I was left with no other choice when he got angry and full named me in front of everyone.

"You better start speaking Natalia Isabella Vasquez and you better start right now"

"Ok, jeez"

I fidget in my seat as I start to feel uncomfortable.

"Well thanks to Emily, you all already know about Cole beating me up in school"

Angelos face contorted to anger and his fists were clenched really tight, I attempted to grab his hands to calm him down but Emily beat me to it which made me smile.

"Anyway, I arrived home late from school that day and my parents weren't happy about it because I wasn't there to do my chores or make food for the pack, they were also pissed off because Aubrey had snitched to them and said that I'd 'disrespected my future Luna in school'"

"So the bitch is a snitch as well, typical"

I chuckle at Amy whilst James rolls his eyes and mutters 'this woman' under his breath.

"What happened after that?"

I look at Angelo who looks stoic but his eyes are blazing.

"They erm...th..they p..punished me"

"How?"

My eyes shut tightly as I remember what exactly happened.

"Nat"

"Well, let's just say they erm.....they took me to the tor.....the torture room"

Angelo and Emily gasp.

BANG!!, BANG!!, BANG!!, BANG!!.

Angelo punched the wall four times scaring the shit out of me.

"Angelo calm down"

"Beta simmer down"

Angelo was shaking and I was afraid that he'd shift right here in front of us.

"Angelo"

Emily stood up and touched Angelo's arm, she flinched slightly probably from feeling the sparks and tingles but she didn't let that stop her and thank god she didn't because just from her touch, Angelo was able to calm down, I mean he wasn't completely calm but he was calmer then what he was before.

"They took you to the torture room?"

I nod my head.

"I'm gonna f*****g kill them"

"Angelo don't"

He was about to leave the room but I stopped him and pleaded with him not to go after them.

"Please Angelo, please don't"

"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't?"

"Erm...."

SHIT!!.

"I thought so"

"Ok, ok, you can't go after them because they'll know I'm here and they'll take me back to that hell hole, I can't go back there Angelo, I can't"

Angelo hugs me in an attempt to calm me down but I ended up inadvertently hissing in pain.

"What's wrong? are you ok?"

Unable to speak, I nod my head and hold my ribs whilst mentally cursing my wolf for not healing me, it's clear who the bitch cares more about seeing as I'm standing here in pain and I've barely felt her presence ever since our last encounter with Cole.

"No, you're not"

"Clearly you're not Natalie, you look like you're about to cry from the pain you're in"

I flip Brody off which he chuckled at, f*****g prick.

"And the names Natalia, understand? Na-tal-ia, not f*****g Natalie"

"Natalie, Natalia, tomayto, tomahto it's the same f*****g thing"

I glare at the smirking idiot who is clearly asking to get his ass kicked.

"Shut up, Brody will ya"

Brody's smirk turned into a glare when alpha James told him to shut up and I chuckled but that didn't last long when my ribs started hurting again.

"AAHHH!!, shit"

"Show me, Nat"

"What?"

"Show me your goddamn injuries"

"Why? so you can get even more mad and want to kill our parents, hell no"

"I won't get mad, I promise"

"Pfft, yer ok and a One Direction fan won't respond to a reunion by screaming and being hysterical"

Angelo sighs and drops his head, this boy forgets that I know him and sadly Cole better than anybody, they're a pair of hotheads who don't take lightly to anyone hurting someone they really care about hence Coles reaction when Aubrey was insulted and Angelos reaction with me being hurt.

Growing up, I was really close with both of my big brothers but more so with Angelo especially after everyone turned against me, they were also super over-protective of me, I mean Angelo still is and when Cole used to be he was like weirdly protective of me, he wouldn't let any boys near me not even his third in command Jason which I put down to him just being a typical big brother but now I know that it was probably the mate bond.

"Ok, I promise you, I won't get mad"

"Dude, uncross your fingers you aren't five anymore"

Emily groaned whilst rolling her eyes.

"Thanks, Em"

"No probs, you were my best friend before he was my mate"

Emily gasped and covered her mouth as a blush crept onto her face when she realised what she said.

"Don't be embarrassed Em, everyone already knew you guys were mates"

"Really?"

She looked around at everyone who nodded their heads.

"Oh"

"Can we get back to the topic in hand, please?"

Angelo sighed in frustration.

"Natalia, show me your injuries"

I was hesitant at first but knowing he wasn't gonna let it go especially since Lucky isn't gonna heal me anytime soon, I decided to bite the bullet and show him, I lifted my top up to just under my bra showing everyone the majority of my injuries.

A series of gasps, hisses and curse words fill the room and I panicked seeing how angry Angelo is.

"E..erm Em, c..can y..you.....you know?"

Emily didn't click on at first but when she did, she jumped up and hugged him, aww, how cute do they look? it's like looking at a minion and a giant hugging.

Angelo calmed down, not fully but I'll take it.

"When did this happen?"

"Erm..."

"Natalia, for f***s sake stop beating around the f*****g bush and tell me will ya"

Urgh!!.

"Ok....it happened twodaysago"

"What?"

"It happened twodaysago"

"NATALIA!!"

Everyone shouted.

Urgh!!.

"It happened two days ago"

Five...

Four...

Three...

Two...

On...

"Two days ago, TWO f*****g DAYS AGO!!"

"What's wrong, Angelo?"

"Two days ago was her f*****g birthday"

"What?"

"Wait, your parents and your brother beat you up on your f*****g birthday, that's f****d up"

"It sure is, are you sure they're your real parents?"

"Unfortunately"

"No"

"Huh, what did you just say?"

Angelo looked at me horrified with his hands covering his mouth.

"Yes, I meant yes"

"No, no, no, no don't you dare be a backtrack Betty now Angelo Giovanni Vasquez...you said no....what the actual f**k?"

Angelo was silent for what felt like an entire century as he paced alpha James office and muttering a bunch of gibberish to himself under his breath.

"ANGELO, STOP PACING!!....Shit"

Emily shouted shocking everyone.

"Damn, Minnie Mouse got fire"

Urgh!!.

"Angelo, what did you mean?"

"I can't tell you, I promised momma and dad"

"Oh really?"

I lifted up my shirt again showing him the cuts, bruises, silver burns and whip welts which quickly had him singing like a choir boy during his solo on a bright Sunday morning.

"Ok, ok fine....sit down please, this is gonna be a lot for you to take in"

I sit back down in my seat and Angelo sits down next to me.

"Ok erm...fuck, where do I start?"

"The beginning is normally the best, idiot"

I glare at Brody.

I'm about ready to f**k this bitch up.

"Brody, I may be tired, I may be weak and I may be injured to f**k but say one more f*****g word and I'm wrapping you up faster than a Christmas present, do you understand me?...go ahead, Angelo"

"Ok....Nat"

Angelo takes a deep breath before dropping a bombshell on me.

"Momma and dad aren't your real parents"

The f**k?.

"You're joking, right?"

Angelo shakes his head.

"Unfortunately not"

"W..when? h..how?...I..I"

"Nat"

Angelo grabbed both of my hands and rubbed his thumbs over my knuckles.

"It was eighteen years ago, momma and dad were in a meeting when they got an alert from a warrior that something had been left on the territory lines but they didn't know what it was, they went out there with their beta and third in command to see what was going on and when they got there they erm....they found a pink Moses basket...inside was the most beautiful and adorable little baby wrapped in a fluffy white blanket which had your name on it, there was even a crown on the N"

Oh my god.

"H..how do you know all of this?"

"I overheard momma and dad talking to our betas about it when I was ten"

He said with a sigh.

"Our betas wanted to know if they'd ever tell you about your real parents and they said no, in their minds they're your parents because they raised you and have done everything for you including giving you a stable home which they didn't have to do since they could've put you in the foster home for abandoned werewolves"

"Wow....so what stopped them? going into foster care would've been a hell of a lot better than having seven shades of shite beaten out of me on a daily basis or being called some of the most derogatory names in the history of the English language"

"I don't know Nat but I'm really glad they decided to keep you because even though you're not my biological sister...you're still my sister and you always will be"

Angelo wipes away my tears and smiles....wait.

"I'm not your sister"

He nods his head whilst looking sad.

"Oh my god, does Cole know?"

Angelo shakes his head.

"As far as I know he doesn't, momma and dad didn't want anyone knowing that you aren't biologically theirs"

Coles not my brother....at least now the whole us being mates thing makes more sense now.

"WHAT?"

My head snaps up to look at Angelo and everyone else who all look shocked.

"Coles your mate?"

"Erm...m..maybe"

"There's no maybe about it Natalia, either he is or he isn't?"

"Well technically we aren't but we were"

Everyone looks at me confused, f*****g idiots, I was hoping they'd get it from that so that I didn't have to say it.

"Quit talking in circles, Natalia"

I look around at everyone before looking at Angelo who looked seriously confused.

I let out a sigh.

"He rejected me"

"What?"

"When?"

"Just after we went back to our rooms after doing laundry, he burst into my room and he kissed me....he was pretty determined to mark me right there and then until he found out who I was and then...then he started firing insults at me like bullets"

"What kind of insults?"

"Oh you know the usual, I'm weak, pathetic and useless and then he questioned my ability to be a good Luna"

"f*****g asshole, sorry Natalia but he is"

"It's ok Amy, I would've called him worse, actually, I think I have called him worse"

"Are you ok, Nat?"

I nod my head.

"I wanna go to bed"

"Ok, I think we've all heard enough for tonight, you girls go and rest you're gonna need it if you're up for training"

"Wait, you're gonna let us train?"

Emily asked alpha James with so much hope and excitement, she's always wanted to train and learn how to defend herself but she wasn't ever allowed too.

"Of course you can, you can start tomorrow Emily as for you Nat, you may want to wait until you're healed"

"Don't worry about that alpha Jay, I've done a lot more strenuous things under worse conditions before so training will be a breeze"

"Alpha Jay?"

Everyone looks at me with an odd look that I couldn't make out.

"Yer, I'm not calling him James it sounds way too posh so like it or not you're getting called Jay"

"It's ok, I like it"

Jay smiled.

"Besides, once my wolf decides to get her head out of her ass and stop being depressed over that horse's ass then she'll heal me and I won't be in any more pain"

"Wolf? what wolf? you haven't shifted yet"

f**k.

"Oh erm..."

"Tell them, Nat, they're gonna find out sooner or later anyway"

"Tell us what?"

I sigh in frustration and annoyance.

"Remember when I told you what happened between myself and Aubrey when we were six and the lie she told my parents?"

"Yer"

"Well....what I left out from that story is that a few months prior to that happening, I erm..."

"You what?"

I take a deep breath.

"I...I shifted"

Everyone gasps.

"You shifted"

I nod my head.

"But you said you were six when you saved Aubrey"

I nod my head again.

"Oh my god, babe is that even possible?....babe"

Amy shook Jay's shoulder to get his attention, he looked like he was lost in his own world.

Jay looked up at me and for the first time since I met him, I felt uncomfortable under his gaze, it was like he was looking at me like he was trying to find something specific.

"Babe"

Jay narrowed his eyes from me to his mate.

"I don't know, to be honest, I've never heard of anyone shifting before their eighteenth birthday"

"He's lying he knows something"

"Who's that? it can't be my wolf, can it?"

I sarcastically ask.

"Yes it is, I'm sorry Nat, I really am"

"It's ok, ya big ball of fur, now what were you saying about alpha Jay"

"He's lying, he knows something but he doesn't want to say"

"How do you know?"

"Look into his eyes"

I did what Lucky said and I was instantly overwhelmed with a strong feeling of deception.

"Lucky, what the f**k is going on? how can I get such a strong reading just from looking into his eyes? it's like I can feel what he feels"

"I don't know, Nat, I just had this strong urge to tell you to look into his eyes"

"Ok, then why is he lying to me?"

"I don't know but I don't feel like he's being malicious with his lie, if anything, I feel like he's trying to protect us"

"Ok guys it's late, let's go to bed and get some rest"

I was hesitant to agree because I wanted to know why Jay was lying to me and more importantly, I wanted to know what he knew but exhaustion took over me and I found myself dragging my tired self to bed, I guess I'll just have to talk with him tomorrow about it.
