Lu Meili acted along. "Tell me what? Sis Ruoxi, you can tell me anything. Don't be scared of anyone." 

Ruoxi looked even more at crossroads. "I don't know... perhaps if I do, I will wrong Katy. Maybe you really shouldn't know." 

Lu Meili sneered in her heart. But on the surface, she acted as though her curiosity had just been piqued. . "Sis Katy, come on, please tell me. It's not like I would tell Sis Katy something that's between us." 

Ruoxi stammered. "Actually... the... the thing is, erm... Katy was in that banquet too, right?" 

"Yes. What about it?" 

"I accidentally overheard Katy say... that she doesn't actually like you. Who is to say, that if you attend the same banquet, she wouldn't want to drug your wine?" 

Lu Meili looked so shocked that her face grew paler. "Sis Ruoxi, what are you saying? Sis Katy could do such a thing?" 

Ruoxi looked like she couldn't believe it either. "Actually, it's something she has done before." 

"She drugged you?" 

Ruoxi's expression changed, and she looked like she was so angry that she wanted to chop off Katy Blanc's head. "Not me. She drugged my mother. I will never forgive her." 

Lu Meili raised her eyebrows and looked at Ruoxi with her bright pair of big eyes. "She drugged Aunty Lihua?" 

Ruoxi 'fought back her anger and tears'. "Yes. Mom was pregnant at the time. Katy drugged her water and just like that, mom lost her baby. It was so painful to bear. Meili, I don't want you to suffer like my mother did." 

Lu Meili changed the subject of their discussion abruptly. "Sis Ruoxi, are you familiar with Neil? You know, that exchange student from the same class as you in Junior High who was also my friend?" 

Ruoxi's heart felt as though it had been struck by lighting the moment Neil was mentioned. How could she not know him? He was Lu Meili's friend alright, but she had seduced him into being her boyfriend and betraying Lu Meili. Why would she mention him? Had she found out? 

"I... don't remember him." 

Lu Meili shrugged. "Oh... I thought you did." 

"I don't. Oh! Look at me being all silly. I should be preparing hangover soup for you." 

Before Lu Meili could say a thing, she disappeared into the kitchen. Because they had all been friends since they were young, Katy and Ruoxi could enter and leave Wan Jia's kitchen as they pleased. They treated the place as their home. Similarly, Lu Meili treated Villa number two like it was her home. 

The girl sneered coldly. Who was it that said that she was the nation's best actress? That title obviously belonged to Ruoxi. What a good actress. 

Her motive was really as Lu Meili thought. She was trying to turn people against Katy Blanc and make them hate her. It was not sure what she would gain from that but with time, Lu Meili would find out. 

Also, since when did Lin Lihua ever get pregnant? One should have a limit to their slander. 

When Ruoxi came back, Lu Meili hid away her glare and put on her innocent facade. "Sis Ruoxi, you don't have to go to work today?" 

Ruoxi suddenly looked wronged. "I lost my job just a few days ago. I just can't do anything right, sigh. My heart has never been into any of those jobs I've been doing. Perhaps that's why I can't do anything right." 

"Why is your heart not into it?" Lu Meili gave a side glance at the bowl of soup. It would be a surprise if Ruoxi did not add something harmful into that soup. She would be a complete idiot with no trace of a brain if she drank it. 

"I've always wanted to work in Le Blanc Group. I worked very hard and qualified for it. But daddy... 

On the bright side, Katy managed to get a major position. I'm very happy for her." 

She didn't need to complete her first statement for one to know what she was trying to bring up. 

Was she trying to say that although she qualified to work in Le Blanc Group and despite all her effort, Henry Blanc wouldn't let her? 

Or was she trying to say that Katy took advantage of her and made her lose her jobs one after another so she wouldn't look capable enough, and in the end  she took the position that Ruoxi herself deserved?

Lu Meili scolded herself in her heart millions of times. Had she been this blind for all these years? What a stupid fool she had been! 

"Sis Ruoxi, don't worry about it. Every person who does evil deeds will be punished for it. Have you heard of it? People who live by slandering others and taking away the results of their hard work..." she paused to make sure Ruoxi was listening. "They all die horrible deaths." 

She leaned in as though trying to whisper. "Like being struck by lightning, being dismembered or being attacked by wild animals." 

"Oh, after that, their souls become wild and are barred from ever reincarnating." 

Ruoxi frowned. Why did it sound like Lu Meili was cursing her? She had the urge to rain insults on her and slap her right across her beautiful face. However, she knew that Lu Meili thought Katy was the evil one, so she just laughed it off.

"Your soup will get cold if you don't drink it." Ruoxi said and took some on a spoon, bringing it close to Lu Meili's mouth. 

Lu Meili dodged the spoon like a small child unwilling to eat her food. "Wait. Sis Ruoxi, I don't like drinking soup when it's too hot. Let's wait a little and let it cool slightly."
