39 Chapter 38
While we were sailing towards the other shore, Dorry called me out.
"Hey Luffy, a little human who looked like you came here earlier. He said he was looking for you. He was very kind and was impressed when we told him we are a part of your crew. He had a little chat with us about you, and he gave us this tiny paper to give you." The Giant gave me a tiny white paper that was pointing in a direction and slowly moving in that way.
"Ace," I muttered. Crocodile was constantly on my mind, and I had completely forgotten about him.
"Where is he now? Why didn't he wait here?" I asked trembling.
"He said, he was chasing someone, and couldn't stay here any longer. After giving us the paper and instructing us to give it to you, he sailed away on a weird ship that was shooting flames." My face paled, the moment I heard Dorry.
"NO!" I yelled out and started panicking. I wanted to stop him from going against Blackbeard. But now that he already left, I don't know what to do. Should I leave after him immediately to try to stop him, or do I go after Crocodile first to stop the rebellion?
"What's wrong Luffy? I've never seen you panic like that. Is everything okay?" Aisha asked me with concern.
"Ace is my brother," I answered, while still contemplating on what I should do. I had completely forgotten he will be in Alabasta.
"I didn't know you have a brother," Zoro commented.
"Is it the one you told me about?" Asked Nami.
"Yeah, three years ago he left on his own journey on becoming a pirate," I answered.
"Really? I've never heard of Monkey D. Ace. If he was your brother, I presume he would be just as famous as you, knowing how crazy your family." Sanji stated.
"What's so important about your family? Are they all famous or something?" Vivi asked curiously.
"His grandfather is the Marine Hero Monkey D. Garp, and his father is the most wanted man alive Monkey D. Dragon," Ussop informed her, and the rest since a few still didn't know about that.
Xander, Marianne, and Mikita paled after hearing that while muttering "The most wanted man."
Vivi was staring me wide-eyed, not knowing how to respond after Ussop told her.
Dorry and Broggy were confused and who those people were since they have been fighting on Little Garden for the past hundred years, but they didn't care who my father or grandfather is.
"The will of D." Robin, on the other hand, was staring at me with a complicated look. I had asked her earlier what she knows about the initial D. and its meaning, but she said she doesn't know much, though I felt she was hiding something about that. Nevertheless, I believe she will tell me in the future.
"We are not related by blood, but he is definitely my big brother. We grew up together, and we bonded like no other. His full name is Portgas D. Ace." Upon hearing me, everyone was shocked, except the Giants.
"THE Portgas D. Ace? Fire Fist Ace the second division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, is your brother?" Mikita asked wide-eyed.
"Yes," I answered absentmindedly, still unsure about what I'm supposed to do. I really wanted to chase after him and stop him immediately.
"Why would you react like that, if he is someone so strong and famous?" Aisha asked.
"He is chasing after someone even stronger, and I don't believe he can take him on right now. The man he is going after is Blackbeard." I told them.
"Blackbeard? Never heard of him, is he trying to copy Whitebeard?" Ussp asked with a laugh.
"Something like that I guess, but he is very dangerous. Blackbeard was a member of the Whitebeard Pirates, and he was a part of the second division under Ace. He killed another crewmember in order to steal a Devil Fruit from him. That's the reason why Ace is going after him." I explained to them.
"Well if he was under Ace then he can't possibly be that much stronger than him, just because of a Devil Fruit, right?" Xander asked.
"Wrong, he is very strong. He is someone that was able to scar Shanks before eating a Devil Fruit. To top it all, the Devil Fruit he ate is one of the strongest out there. It's called the Dark-Dark Fruit, making him a Darkness Human. According to the Devil Fruit Encyclopedia, it grants the user the evilest ability." Everyone was left frozen after I said that.
"You aren't just throwing random names around right? You can't mean someone unknown was able to fight with Red Haired Shanks and even give him a scar?" Ussop asked.
"I mean everything I said, he is extremely dangerous" I stated, causing everyone to be left speechless.
I wasn't sure what the correct choice would be here, and what I'm supposed to do, but I decided that we would deal with Crocodile first and go after Ace after that. Vivi grew a lot on us with her kind-hearted nature, and I couldn't let her country to be destroyed when I have the chance to stop that.
"Okay, I've decided. Let's go and deal with Crocodile as soon as possible and follow Ace afterward." I declared with new found determination. I will use everything within my capabilities to save Ace. Despite us not being blood-related, he is my family, and I won't allow him to die, but first, we will deal with Crocodile.
It took us another hour of sailing before we reached the other shore. Turning towards the Giants, I had to ask them again to protect our ship.
"Dorry, Brogy, I know I promised you some action, but I would ask you one more time to defend the ships. I guarantee this will be the last time I make this request from you." I begged the two Giants.
"Gabababa, don't worry about it Luffy," Brogy assured me while laughing.
"Depending on what happens, it might take us a day before we come back. If we need more time, a clone will come to inform you of the situation." I told them
"Take your time, we have all the time in the word, gegyagya." Dorry jokingly said.
With the rest of the crew, we started our journey toward Alubarna. Since I wanted us to reach there as soon as possible, I created clones to carry the slower crew members.
Rushing towards the capital, we managed to reach it within half an hour, but we were a bit too late. The rebellion had just started, and the rebels were storming Alubarna. They were currently fighting against the Alabasta soldiers.
"Luffy, please take me to the middle of the fight. I believe I would be able to make them stop. We need to make them stop!" Vivi said with tears in her eyes, after seeing the situation.
"You guys go and deal with the Baroque Agents. We will stop the fighting and find Crocodile after that." I ordered the crew while picking up Vivi in my arms.
We rushed towards the middle of the battle between the rebels and the Alabasta army. I landed in the middle of the fight with Vivi in my hands. She was barely holding her tears but she tried stopping them.
"STOP FIGHTING! ALL OF THIS HAS BEEN SET UP! PLEASE STOP FIGHTING!" Vivi cried out with tears in her eyes, but very few heard her screaming, due to the sounds of combat. Nonetheless, they continued fighting.
"PROTECT THE CAPITAL!" Someone from the Alabasta army yelled out.
"AFTER WE GET OVER THEM WE WILL GO FOR THE CASTLE" A rebel screamed out.
"PLEASE STOP! THERE IS NO POINT TO SHED BLOOD OVER THIS!" Vivi cried out, but there was nothing stopping them. Seeing that no one was paying attention to her Vivi dropped on knees while crying.
"Please stop. I don't want to see you kill each other anymore." Vivi barely muttered out amidst her cries.
It pained me seeing them kill each other, seeing them die due to the schemes of someone else. It hurt me more than I wanted to admit. I hate death more than anything, taking the chance from someone else to live and fix his mistakes is unforgivable in my eyes.
It also pained me seeing Vivi like this, especially after spending so much time with her. I wanted to stop everyone without having to hurt them any more than this, but I didn't know what I could possibly do stop them.
I felt anger boiling inside of me like never before, and I unconsciously entered my hybrid form.
"STOP!" I screamed out and felt my anger and emotions explode like an invisible wave around me. It hit everyone around us, and both the rebels and the army surrounding us started all dropping unconscious, like marionettes who had their strings cut.
"Hey Luffy, a little human who looked like you came here earlier. He said he was looking for you. He was very kind and was impressed when we told him we are a part of your crew.
