26 Chapter 25
It took us a few hours of traveling to reach Reverse Mountain, which stands on the Red Line. The mountain sits right where the four Blues meet. This place is unique considering rivers from all the Blues meet at the top, and then flow down the Grand Line.
The currents were pushing us straight towards the mountain, but due to Nami's skills as a navigator, we caught the correct one that led us towards the top of Reverse Mountain. We did almost crash a few times, but I was able to push us away from the mountain, while Nojiko fixed any damage to the Going Merry.
It was fun traveling up a mountain on a ship, and it felt like a roller coaster ride. Slowly we made our way to the top, and once we reached there, the ship started going down extremely fast. Three of my clones were making sure the Going Merry doesn't crash. The last clone was keeping Nojiko steady, in case she needs to fix the ship. The rest of the crew all found something to hold on to, while we were going down.
Everything was fine until a gigantic whale with scars on his head popped out from the water in front of us. Two of my clones enlarged themselves and got in position at the front of the ship. They stopped the Going Merry before it could crash into the whale. That seemed to have enraged it since it swallowed us after that.
The scenery inside was not something you would expect from a whales stomach. The sky was brightly lit, despite it being night time, and there was an island looking ship in the middle from where I felt an overwhelming presence.
Moments later, a giant squid came out next to the Going Mery, but I couldn't take my eyes from the island looking ship. Zoro was about the cut apart the squid, but two harpoons got thrown from the weird looking boat and beat him to it.o
Walking out from a house on the ship, was a muscular man with quite a few scars on his body. The most distinguishing feature was his hairstyle. The top of his head was bald, but he had yellow flower petal-like things, that have purple near the end of them for hair.
After pulling the squid to his ship, the man sat down on a lounge chair with a newspaper in hand. He didn't even bother to look at us and was flipping through the pages.
"SAY SOMETHING!" Sanji got annoyed at his actions and screamed at him. The man continued reading his newspaper like he never heard him.
"IF YOU WANT TO FIGHT WE WILL GIVE YOU ONE! WE HAVE NUMBERS AND CANNONS ON OUR SIDE!" Ussop threatened him.
"Don't use a cannon or someone might end up dead." The man said in a relaxed manner.
"Oh, and who would that be?" Sanji took his remark as a threat.
"Me." The man answered which caused me to laugh, but angered Sanji.
"Hey now, no need to be mean to the old man. Would you mind telling us who you are and why are you in the stomach of a whale?" Nojiko asked him.
"Don't you know it's common courtesy to introduce yourself, before asking others questions." The man responded.
"He is ri.." Zoro was about to take his side, but he got interrupted.
"My name is Crocus, the lighthouse keeper of the Twin Capes. I'm seventy-one years old, a Gemini and type AB blood." He is funny. I was laughing with tears in my eyes when I heard him.
Crocus told us the story about the Rumbar Pirates and Laboon, the giant whale. How the pirates came through Reverse Mountain with Laboon following them, and stayed at his lighthouse for a few months, to repair their ship from the journey. How they left the whale in his care, due to the dangers in the Grand Line, but Crocus couldn't continue his story since Laboon started hitting the Red Line.
Crocus immediately jumped inside the stomach acid and swam to a building that was attached to the insides of the whale. Crocus stabbed Laboon with a sedative and was able to calm him down. While that was going on, two people dropped down from somewhere and were about to land in the stomach acid. I enlarged my arms and was able to catch them both.
One of them was a young man with the number nine written on his cheeks. He had a golden crown on top of his red hair. The other was a blue-haired woman, who looked extremely beautiful. She had big brown eyes, and her hair was pulled back into a ponytail.
The two looked surprised, but quickly gathered their witts and tried shooting the Laboon from the inside with rockets. Before they could do so, I knocked them both out with a chop to the neck. Sanji got pissed at me for hitting a woman and started assaulting me. It took him a few moments before he calmed down.
Crocus came on the Going Merry and told us that Laboon is an Island Whale, the largest whale species in the world. He explained how those people are rogues from a nearby island and are trying to kill him for his meat.
Crocus showed us hot exit the whale and came along with us. Crocus told us how he is a Doctor and how it is impossible to treat a whale this size from the outside. That's the reason he had to dig a hole inside him and even start living in his stomach. Crocus also told us how he spent a few years as a Doctor on a ship as well.
We were able to leave Laboon from a hole on his side with his help. We docked at the Twin Cape and stayed the night there while listening to more of his stories.
By morning the sedative had worn out, and Laboon woke up. Before he could take any action, I enlarged myself and jumped in the air using Geppo. I started a fight with Laboon, but it looked more like a game from the side. He was hitting me into the Red Line, while I was bouncing back into him. We played like that for a few minutes.
"That was fun!" I shouted at Laboon.
"I promise you, that once my crew sails around the Grand Line, we will come back and play again!" I declared, which caused the whale to tear up.
I quickly gathered some paint from the Going Merry and drew our Jolly Roger on him.
"This will be our sing of my promise to come back. So make sure you don't bash your head anymore, or you will cause it to disappear!" Laboon bellowed in agreement at my promise.
We had a feast with Crocus after that, while he explained to us some things regarding the Grand Line. How tough it is to navigate due to the magnetic fields surrounding the islands here, and how we would need a Log Pose to travel reliably. Crocus told us how there are seven different paths we could take from here, but they all converge into one eventually.
"Raftel is the final stop in the Grand Line. The only people who have confirmed its existence are the Pirate King and his crew. It is an island of legends." Crocus stated.
"It was quite the adventure reaching there right?" I asked with a smirk, which surprised him but confused my crew.
"I bet you our adventure would be better and I will find a better Doctor than you!" I told him before he can respond.
"HAHAHA, oh my you sound just like him, HAHAHA." Crocus burst out laughing.
"How are you planning to travel here without a Log Pose?" He asked me with a smirk, but I showed him one I had picked off from our guests. They were currently tied up and left in one of our rooms.
"Luck seems to favor those like you, HAHAHA." Crocus went inside the lighthouse and brought out a map of the Grand Line with him. He gave us a few more tips on navigation before we bid him and Labon farewell.
The people I knocked out earlier, had woken up at this point. They introduced themselves as Mr. 9 and Miss Wednesday. Both of them begged us to take them us since the Log Pose was pointing towards their island. I knew Miss Wednesday is Vivi and there was no chance I would not help her.
"We will help you out, but you better behave while you are on my ship." Both of them promised, they will not cause trouble.
With that, we started our adventure on the Grand Line. We were already quite a distance away from Twin Cape, but something prompted me to look back.
I saw Crocus standing there with a smile on his face waving at us, but there was a silhouette of someone next to him. He had a long curved mustache and was looking straight at me with a fierce grin. My eyes nearly popped out at seeing him. I immediately rubbed my eyes to check if there is something wrong, but the silhouette was already gone. We just got to the Grand Line, and my mind is already playing tricks on me, how great.
