8 Chapter 07

While we were patching up Zoro, Nami was circling me around and poking me on my back. I guess my vest already has a few holes in the back, as she was touching my skin. "Didn't you shield me from that explosion, why don't you have any injuries? Zoro is a famous bounty hunter and was wounded after that and yet you, someone I have never heard about, looks perfectly fine and only your clothes look damaged. You also knocked those guys that were chasing me by stretching your leg, how did you do that?" she inquired.

"When I was little I ate a Devil Fruit that made me a rubber-man." She didn't even give me a chance to say anything else "I thought Devil Fruits are just a myth, I never believed they are actually real." I decided to humor her and stretched my cheeks to show her "They are real. Buggy has even eaten one himself, his fruit allows him to split his body into pieces, making him pretty much immune to normal sword attacks." She was dumbfounded by what I told her.

"And you plan to fight him, why would you do this?" That's easy to answer "Look at what he has done. The town has fled and he has already destroyed a lot of buildings already. I don't like Pirates like him." The mayor was crying at this point and talking about how he should be the one fighting them and not us.

Before he can continue I heard a commotion outside and spotted a four or maybe five-meter tall lion with a weird looking guy on top of it. Without giving it a second thought, I had already jumped through a window and managed to reach them, before they hurt Chouchou any further.

The weird guy with cat ears on his head took one hit from me, flew a few meters a hit his head hard on the ground. The lion, on the other hand, managed to even land a hit and scratch me on my left hand, but it was a shallow cut and will regenerate in a minute at best. After eating the Zoan fruit, my skin has become very sturdy, combine that with my regeneration, I am like a mini Kaido.

Unfortunately, in order to knock out the tiger, I hit him a little bit too hard and managed to send him smashing through one of the town buildings. At least I managed to save the pet store, I believe it was destroyed in the story.

Zoro came out complaining about how he was awoken by the commotion. He looks a little better and was eating something, said the mayor gave had some food inside. He was happy to treat us and said that's the least he can do for us after saving Chouchou and the shop.

He left us eating after a while and came back wearing some funny looking armor. He was planning to go and fight Buggy even though he knew he had no chance. The mayor was about to storm off, however, I was able to hit him behind his neck and knock him out. No point in letting him do something stupid like that.

Zoro was looking better and was itching for a fight. He wanted revenge for being hit with that explosion. Nami, on the other hand, was excited about all the treasure she will steal.

She led us to a bar that Buggy was using as a base right now. I could already hear the commotion inside the building. "COME OUT YOU BIG RED NOSE." As soon as I screamed that, the bar became so quiet, that you would never guess there is someone inside. Second laters, you could hear Buggy screaming his lungs out, how he will kill whoever said it.

Seeing him pop out of the bar, I have to admit that the nose is gigantic and to think it's his real nose. I didn't have much time to laugh at his nose since his pirates seemed to be already preparing to shoot a Buggy Ball. I couldn't let it explode like last time, but I was able to bounce it back by inflating my body.

The buggy ball destroyed the bar and the treasury behind it. Nami immediately took the chance and went for the treasure. At this point, the smoke cleared and Buggy was holding a few of his crewmembers as a shied. This really pissed me off "You were a part of what is considered the greatest pirate crew and here you are terrorizing the townsfolk and using your crewmates as a shield. I honestly can't believe Shank's and you were on the same pirate crew."

He was smirking initially, but once he heard me, he got really angry. His face took the color of his nose and he screamed: "What do you know about that red haired bastard.". Buggy didn't say anything else to me and ordered his crew to attack us.

Zorro seemed quite pissed himself and immediately stormed off. He was giving cutting them apart and leaving some nasty wounds on them. A weird guy with green on unicycle appeared and was using some dirty techniques to fight with Zoro. He was mostly targeting his wounded areas, using smoke and breathing fire.

I didn't have time to look at their fight, as I saw Buggy throwing knives at me. He was so red, his head looked like one big tomato. I dodged the knives and rushed towards him.

I have to admit, he is very strong. He was surprisingly good with his Devil Fruit, he was able to dodge a lot of my attacks by splitting at the last moment. He also landed a few hits off on me and managed to cut me. The wounds weren't anything special so they were slowly healing already.

I was surprised by how skilled he was, but I was already starting to adapt to his attacks and was dodging most of them. I managed to lad a few hits as well, however, he took them like a champ. I honestly thought he is weak and that I would be able to beat him easily, now it seems I might even have to use my transformation.

Throughout our fight, he didn't stop talking about how he will kill me flashily and how he will become the richest pirate alive by stealing all the treasure in the world. Which is probably why he spotted Nami packing up his treasure from the destroyed treasury.

Buggy sent three knives straight towards Nami and he floated away from me. The knives were already halfway there and there was no way I could stop them. I transformed into my hybrid monkey form on pure instinct and rushed straight towards her. Everything looked like a blur, I never thought it's possible to move that fast.

I did reach on time and managed to stop the knives. I was able to push her away from their paths, however, two of the hit me on my back and the third got my straw hat. One of the knives was stabbed into my gut, while the other was right under my right shoulder. I managed them by stretching my arm around me and pulling them out. The wounds will hopefully heal soon.

Unfortunately Buggy took my hat away with the third knife. He was currently holding "I knew I have seen this hat before, Shanks gave this to you right?" Buggy didn't even give me a chance to respond as he threw it on the ground and spat on it.

He was preparing to stomp it and at that moment I was seeing red. I instantly reached him with a burst of speed and managed to punch him in the head before he can damage it any further.

Now in my hybrid form, I was at least five times stronger. Buggy was still putting up a fight, however, I was both stronger and faster than him. In the end, I was able to knock him out.

At this point, Zoro had already beaten the unicycle guy. I made him cut Buggy apart. We tied his body parts and placed them in a bag. We left him with only a head, two hands, two feet, and a small torso. He looked like a chibi Buggy.

I woke him up by slapping him a bit. As soon as his eyes opened he tried summoning his parts, but he noticed I had them tied up. He seems to have realized his situation as I saw the fear in his eyes.

I was thinking of taking them with me, but I decided to give him a chance, not before him a lesson that is. So I made the meanest face I could do and told him "I will take your parts with me and I will throw them randomly throughout the Grand Line, let's see if you will be able to find even one of them."

He knew how low the chances are of him finding all of his body parts in that chaotic ocean. I saw him panic he seemed to believe me, so now I have to give him some hope "However if you promise me, that you will no longer terrorize towns and civilians any more and that when we meet next time, you would have an amazing story about your adventures that you will share with me and my crew, I will return them to you."

"Like I already told you, you had the chance to be a Pirate on the best pirate crew like Shanks and right now he is one of the Four Emperors, but you don't hear stories about him terrorizing towns like you and ruining the lives of the citizens. Do you know that when I was little I accidentally ate a Devil Fruit that he found and he got super angry? He got super angry because I won't be able to swim anymore and complete my dream. Buggy you have the same potential as him, yet you are here sailing in the weakest sea acting like a week pirate, while you could be so much more."

I wasn't sure if I would be able to change his mentality with just a speech, but judging by the change in his eyes and his response there was hope. He promised he will no longer go after innocent people for their treasure and that he will target pirates or go on adventures to find his own treasures.

He wasn't as stupid as he looks, because as soon as he asked for my name and I introduced myself as Monkey D. Luffy, he immediately made the connection with grandpa "Do you have any relations with Garp the marine Hero?". It seems I have completely inherited the ability to not lie. "Garp is my grandfather, so if I hear you are terrorizing innocent people again I will somehow get in contact with him and rat you out. Let's see who the marines will send after you."

Considering the terrifying look that he had when I confirmed that, I believe he will keep his word. If the marines find out he was part of Rogers' crew they would hunt him down.

In the next twenty minutes or so Buggy had gathered all of his crew and were already leaving the town. He didn't even ask for the treasure that Nami had stolen so that's a good start for him. Surprisingly it wasn't even that hard to convince her to leave half of it for the townsfolk.

Before he left, he asked me about my two Devil Fruits, I guess he noticed that. I explained to him how I ate the second one by mistake and attributed the fact that I am alive to luck. I really don't know how to explain that. He didn't forget saying he will wait for me at the top before sailing away.

Buggy also gave us a slightly bigger boat as there was no way we fit three people on the small one that we came with Zoro. It was already tight enough, especially with me making clones.

As we were sailing away from the island we saw the mayor and Chouchou. The mayor was thanking us for getting rid of the pirates and waving.
