54 Chapter 51 - $^@%?

I had to leave Kazuma behind. I could be their sugar daddy, but I wanted Kazuma to grow out. Ever since I took charge, I've noticed Kazuma becoming more like his past self.

I took out a map. My destination this time was Keele's dungeon, a simple dungeon where I could easy loot. It was located outside Axel, and with people preoccupied with cabbages, I could enjoy everything for myself.

While walking, I sensed a presence behind me.

"Who are you?" I said.

They didn't answer back, so I took out a dagger.

"If you don't come out, I might end up killing you~!" I warned once more.

Since they didn't talk back, I started counting down.

"1!" I shouted, activating my skill Concentrated Shot.

My throw didn't miss and I could hear rustling and someone in pain. I went up to the person there.

"What were you doing, Chris?" I said dangerously.

"Wait-! Wait just a moment-! Who even hurts a pretty lady!?" she talked back.

"3..." I started counting down with a dagger in my hands.

"Stop-! Stop-! I'll tell you everything so please don't do anything!" said Chris in a panic.

I stopped and saw my dagger that sliced her arm. She was bleeding profusely so I felt safe.

"So, why were you following me? Isn't it cabbage season?" I demanded.

"I'm a thief, why would I work hard for money if I can just steal?" she answered back.

"Answer the right question," I said.

"Okay-! I was following you because I met you before!" she said.

"Met? What do you mean?"

"It's me! Eris! I gave you a new life on Earth, remember?" she said.

"Eris? Isn't she the god of fortune?"

"Yes! That's me! I'm also the one who sent you on Earth!"

I was still suspicious. Not trusting her fully, I decided to first stop her bleeding and tie her up.

"You aren't supposed to this to a God! Please let me go!" she said, hanging down from a rope.

"Answer my questions first. How did you first meet me?" I said with a wooden baseball bat on my hands.

"Uhh... I forgot~." she said.

I went up to another tree and smashed the bat on it. The bat broke into pieces.

"Hiiik-! I found you floating around near the edge of the universe!" she said, tearing up.

"And what did you do?" I said, and brought out a new bat.

"I saw that you were sad, so I erased your memories!" she responded.

"Erased? Why was I sad?" I asked.

"I don't know! I'm telling the truth! I saw you sad and I helped you!"

"By removing my memories?"

"Yes-!"

I left Chris hanging, and thought about my status. It wasn't still fully unlocked, but I could see some truth in Eris' word.

"Why did you come to me then? I'm nothing special!" I questioned her.

"Because I'm connected to you!"

"No you're not."

"Yes I am-! To your old self specifically!"

"How and why?"

Chris went silent. I could see her expressions changing and her mind in conflict.

"If I tell you, will you bring me down?"

"Sure."

"... Do you know the name Yuna?" she asked.

"Yuna? I've never met this Yuna," I responded.

"... I should've expected it..." she said listlessly.

"Who's this Yuna?" I asked.

"It's your wife! Even if you don't remember, you should still be able to feel her connection!"

"Connection? Like in friend list?"

I brought out my SAO friend list. On it, all the names showed that they were logged off.

"I saw this when I first unsealed this tab. I still don't get it, but I'm guessing my old self knew them."

"Wait a moment then!" said Chris.

She moved her hand down and a status appeared in front of her.

"You have a status too?" I asked.

"Yes! I have your wife here too!" she said.

"My wife? How are you going to connect to her?" I asked.

"I'll call her!"

Chris touched a button and I could hear it ringing.

"Hello? This is the Shigemura Yuna?" answered a lady.

"Yuna! I've found your husband! He's here right with me!" said Chris.

"Wait-! Did you just say my husband? Is Zhong Yuan with you right now?" shouted this Yuna girl.

"I'll pass it to him!"

Chris tapped some more buttons and in my status, I could see a call button. I tapped it and I was connected.

"Who are you exactly?" I asked.

"It's me! Yuna! Don't you remember, Zhong Yuan?" said Yuna.

"Zhong Yuan is in a pickle... You see... I kinda erased him memories by accident..." said Eris, tapping her fingers.

"He doesn't remember me then?" asked Yuna.

"Yeah..." answered Chris.

"Uhh... It's been so long... Can you bring him up to me?" asked Yuna.

"He'll have to die then..."

"Whatever! Bring him to me somehow!" said Yuna.

"... Are you fine with dying?" asked Chris to me.

"Nope. Last time I died it was painful."

We were in a stalemate.

"Chris! Quickly kill him!" yelled Yuna.

"I got it!" said Chris, taking out her precious knife.

"Hey! Didn't you lose that from Kazuma?" I said.

She tried stabbing me, but I clapped my hand and grabbed it before she got my heart.

"Who said I could steal back?" said Chris nervously.

"That's unfair! Don't you have any morals?" I blurted out, sweating.

"Why won't you die? If you die, you can find out about your past self and we'll bring you back!" said Yuna.

"You mean like reviving?" I responded.

"Yes! Eris can easily revive you!" said Yuna.

I put some force in my hand and broke the knife in half. Seeing this, Chris teared up and I took advantage of it by kicking her.

*Insert 10 minutes of intense vomiting*

"Are you okay, Chris?" I patted her shoulders.

"I'm fine now. Just lay down and I'll do the rest," she said angrily.

She started making a big complex magic circle in the ground. Then, she asked me to lay down on it.

"I'll see you soon, Zhong Yuan." said Chris.

"It's Touma! Satou Touma!" I corrected her.

I could feel my soul attached to this body escaping, and I started going up.

"When you go up there, don't forget that she's the Music God," said Eris.

"I got that... Sorry for kicking you," I apologized.

"Hm-! Be thankful that you're couples with her. If you weren't I would've ended you!"

I was transported to a random place. I was in this huge place with grass everywhere and a pond behind me. In front of me was a hill. On top of the hill, there was girl with white brown hair, holding a lute with her. It seemed that she was sleeping and looked like a beauty.

"Would you mind telling me more about this Zhong Yuan?" I first asked.

Her eyelids opened slowly.

"It's nice to meet you again," she said gently, with tears on her eyes.

"Again, Again, Again. Could you please tell me the context of this?" I raised my eyebrows.

"Zhong Yuan~!" she yelled, running to me.

"Wait-! Tell me everything first!"

Without answering any of my questions, she jumped and hugged me, pushing me down to the pond.
