49 Chapter 47 - Adventurer Card

Before our eyes were houses built with red bricks and streets from the European Middle Ages.

"Another world... Hey, it really is another world. Eh, it's for real? I am going to use magic and adventure in this world?" said Kazuma talking to himself.

Next to him, I could see the visible distressed Aqua.

"Ah... Ah... Ahh..." said Aqua who was hugging herself, trembling.

"Look Touma! It's Animal ears! There's someone with animals ears! Oh! Look! Elf ears!" said Kazuma pointing at others.

"Ahhh... Ahhhh... Ahhhhhhh!" Aqua says.

"Can you shut up?" I looked Aqua.

Kazuma also looked.

"Hey, you're being noisy. What if people started associating ourselves to you? Also, where's my gear? I'm still wearing my green tracksuit even though normally in games, I should get the minimum equipment," said Kazuma.

Aqua had enough and pounced at Kazuma. Kazuma having weaker stats than her fell and Aqua started trying to strangle Kazuma.

"Aqua-sama, if you kill Kazuma, you will technically never go back up," I smiled sadistically.

Kazuma with enough force pushed Aqua off with an annoyed expression.

"What can I do! I'm stuck here! What should I do? What am I going to in the future?" yelled Aqua with panic and tears.

"Shouldn't we go first to the guild or bar Kazuma?" I asked.

"Yeah, let's go," responded Kazuma.

"Wait! Don't leave me!" panicked Aqua even more.

After asking some strangers where the guild was, we found the guild.

"How can the hiki-neet be so reliable? Hey, were you actually a hiki-neet or were you hiding it or something?" asked Aqua with respect.

'I'll bury her!' I thought what Kazuma thought.

Kazuma started lecturing Aqua about how the value of a person cannot be measured by numbers of friends. In the end, he still called her a bitch and Aqua pounced and tried to strangle Kazuma.

- Adventurer guild -

The Adventurer guild was a job agency in this world. If we entered, we could definitely secure a job and maybe get an abode.

"Welcome~! Please approach the counter if you are looking for jobs. If you are here to dine, please take any seat~!" said a waitress.

We looked around and saw many unfamiliar faces. They were somehow all staring at us.

"They must be looking this way because of the holy aura coming from me, they must have discovered that I am a goddess," said Aqua dumbly.

The dumb bitch looked only like a beauty when quiet so she attracted many gazes.

"Kazuma... We should first get a living or something. Give me everything you have on you so that I could convert it to money with my ability," I asked.

"Sure. Let me just check..." said Kazuma checking his pockets.

He handed me some candies, spare change, and a condom.

"... Hey... Why do you have a condom?" I asked speechless.

"Hey! Anything can happen, okay? What if one day, I got lucky!" he said embarrassed.

Converting it to my ability, I only got 3000 Eris.

"Kazuma... Why was the condom so expensive?" I again asked speechlessly.

"Pu he he... You put so much money on something so usel-" said Aqua.

Kazuma interrupted her angrily by smacking her head and pulling her cheeks apart.

"You're gonna rip it apart!" said Aqua.

"Bastard... Are you trying to ruin my reputation when we first arrive?" said Kazuma.

"Hello, we would like to register three people," I asked Luna the receptionist.

"O-okay..." said Luna weirdly.

Handing over 3000 Eris without looking at the commotion behind, Kazuma and Aqua finally finished their fight. We were then given a lesson on the adventurer card, experience cards, and skills.

"First of all, please fill in your height, weight, age and other details in the blanks," asked Luna.

We all first filled in our details and handed it back. Then, she asked us to touch a card. Apparently, that card will display our strengths of our abilities as reference for a job. And after accumulating skill points, we could learn skills available to our jobs.

Kazuma said, "Don't worry guys. With my amazing potential, I should at least get something like magic swordsman."

Kazuma first touched it.

"Satou Kazuma... All your stats are basically average... intelligence is slightly better than average... Huh? Your luck is very high but it is not very relevant for adventurers. From the numbers, you can only choose the most basic job 'adventurer' job! Since you have high luck, I suggest you give up being an adventurer and be a merchant," said Luna with a smile.

Kazuma on the inside was crying, so I started patting his back.

"It's fine Kazuma... I'll try my best to keep us alive," I said.

"*sniff* *sniff* Thanks..." said Kazuma back.

He looked back to see Aqua's lip corners high in a smile, making him pissed.

'Me being pissed won't help you go back... I can only trust Touma...' he thought.

"I would like to be an adventurer," said Kazuma resolutely.

"That's the spirit!" I said.

"It, it's fine. After leveling up and your stats improve, you can change your job! And the adventurer job is similar to its definition, a combination of all jobs. It might be a basic level job, but it doesn't mean it's worse than others! Adventurers could learn and use the skills of all jobs after all!" said Luna, cheering him up.

The only downside to the job was that you need more skill points to learn skills. Without the bonus attribute of the actual job, you skills would be weaker when compared to them. A jack of trades, master of none.

"Kazuma... Later, let's find a place to throw her away..." I whispered in Kazuma's ear.

"I'm in!" he answered back.

Aqua then touched the card to get her stats. Every stat except intelligence and luck were extremely high. Her magic power was abnormally the highest of all her stats.

Aqua started getting cheered by everyone around her.

"Ara, is that right? So it means I am amazing? It's pretty normal in my standard," said Aqua.

Luna then said how her intelligence doesn't allow mage type jobs but she could choose any other jobs. Her choices included Crusader, Swordmaster, and Archpriest.

Aqua troubled by her choices, she asked, "It's a pity that a goddess isn't available as a job... Is there at least grand cleric?"

"Archpriest!" said Luna.

Everyone was cheering her on for having such a good job while Kazuma was internally annoyed.

"Kazuma, you should get going and get a job request then with Aqua. In the meanwhile, I'll be registering as a merchant," I said.

"Okay..." said Kazuma sadly.

He slowly walked up to the board and took a frog subjugation quest with Aqua. Meanwhile, I got my adventurer card quietly from another receptionist.

Looking at my adventurer card, I was quite shocked from the results.

From my various options, I wondering what to choose until I saw this weird ??? in my options.

"Hey uncle! What's this?" I asked, pointing at the question marks.

"Oh that? I don't know, don't ask me. Just choose already!" he said, going back to sleep.

'He doesn't know... but... what can this represent?' I kept on thinking.

My endless curiosity was aggravating me. Wanting to know, I decided to choose it.

"Uncle! I choose the weird question marks!" I said.

Without a care, he finally updated it and gave it back to me.
