32 Chapter 30 - Scar's Beginnings

In the anime, it was revealed that the entire reason the Ishvalan Civil War started was because of the fact Father and his Hommunculus needed more souls for the later Nationwide Transmutation Circle. Envy started the war by posing as an Amestrian soldier and shooting an Ishvalan child which later became protest and finally, into war.

To stop Father's plan, there were some ways I could disrupt it. First, stop the war from ever happening. Second, use the Alkahestric reverse on the Nationwide Transmuation Circle. Third, stop human sacrifices from ever happening.

The first was awfully difficult since I couldn't control the Fuhrer's plan. Second was plausible and slowly being deciphered. And third, what I needed to do. I was planning to stop Edward and Alphonse from ever trying the Human Transmutation. However, I realized that no matter what I tried in stopping foolish humans, Father would have a way to force people, just like what he did to Mustang.

So, I decided to train human force against Father. I could have spent my entire life with the Elrics, but I first wanted to meet two people. Scar and Mustang.

The Ishvalan war has already started and I couldn't reverse time like in the Nasuverse. The only reason I could was because I connected the root, but this world's principle was different. It was all about sciences, not much regarding magic. Due to this, most of my tools were sealed.

However, the aspect of souls were still the same and the effect of my experimentation was still kicking. My mind could process information way quicker and my brain was designed like of a prodigy's, so I made my own special alchemy weapons. Like how most State Alchemists have engraved their runes into their hands, so did I to most of my equipment. And due to my transmutation circles that involve light and energy, I became something of a prophet or saint.

I spent my days again, wandering at the deserts until I found Ishval. It felt empty and desolate, but also serious. There were military vehicles patrolling and soldiers in guard.

'Ah, fuck.' (Zhong Yuan)

Making a circle on the ground, I put my original transmutation circle and energy starts pouring. Electricity sparks out of the circle and my sense of sight distorts. The science of it was that because we rely on our eyes to observe, if light were to be changed under some circumstances, he wouldn't be able to notice it. Seeing the soldiers stand in place, I just walk in under their noses and go to Scar's brother house.

"Hello! I'm back!" (Zhong Yuan)

All that was there to greet me was nothing.

"...was I too late?" (Zhong Yuan)

"No." (???)

Hearing this, I sense around the room to see Scar with an arm stitched on.

"What happened to you?" (Zhong Yuan)

"..." (Scar)

"You're not telling me? Does it relate to your brother?" (Zhong Yuan)

"I don't want to speak with someone who dared to break the code." (Scar)

"You're saying that even though you've gotten your brother's arm? Know, you're in the same boat as I am." (Zhong Yuan)

"I realize." (Scar)

"Then, did you abandoned your true name yet?" (Zhong Yuan)

"Yes. I've went down the stray path. Just like you, I'm nameless." (Scar)

"Good. What are you now then?" (Zhong Yuan)

"...What do you mean?" (Scar)

"Take up a new name. Mine is Kyofu and because you seem scary with that scar, why don't you name yourself Scar?" (Zhong Yuan)

"...yes. I'm Scar, the scarred man."

"What's your purpose then?"

"To end this war." (Scar)

"...Use the power your brother gave you in that arm. And also, stand still." (Zhong Yuan)

"Wait...what?" (Scar)

*Snap*

A blinding light went to Scar's eyes and he immediately shut it.

"What are you doing?" (Scar)

He opened his eyes to see me and all the research notes of his brother took gone.

Taking Scar's brother's research notes, I went back to the Elric's house. Not wanting to waste anytime, I simply just ran with my alchemically enhanced clothes. The wind brushed against my coat until I finally arrived. In it, I just saw Trisha and the little kids playing around. Seeing this, I smile and open the door.

"Hey guys! Uncle is home!" (Zhong Yuan)

"Uncle! Why are you here?" (Edward)

"Didn't you go somewhere far?" (Alphonse)

Trisha in shock goes back to her usual attitude and makes hand signals to come. I go up to her and put my hand over my ear.

"What's up?" (Zhong Yuan)

"...Aren't you, like, supposed to be in hiding?" (Trisha)

"Me? I'm not scared of anything so why should I?" (Zhong Yuan)

"You know, cause... the war." (Trisha)

"Ah, don't worry about me. I'll just be in the attic doing some experiments. Later kids!" (Zhong Yuan)

"Okay Uncle!" "Bye Uncle!" (Edward and Alphonse)

I materialize a key and open the door in front of Edward and Alphonse's eyes. They were in shock and I entered the attic.

"How did he open it..." (Edward)

"Brother, didn't we try breaking the door down before with alchemy? How come all he needed was a key?" (Alphonse)

"He made it you know...our uncle is pretty smart sometimes..."

Back in my POV, the only reason why the door could be opened is because of my alchemy. People could try to change the atomic structure of my room, but if it were constantly replenishing with an infinite storage of evil, it's kind of hard to break in.

Back in business, I start devising a the Alkahestric Reverse.
