208 Dewhurs
After two days of that weird dream, Kadyn departed from the Ceston Empire. Other than Khrom, Slyff, Nefia and Barret, every old employee went with him. He also brought quite a few new artisans and potioneers together with him. Now, all of them were his employees; they could not betray him, so he took full advantage of it. After all he was going to the strongest place on the Pengolla, he would definitely have to increase his staff.
Before departing, Kallus gave a hundred thousand Shim to Kadyn. A currency that could be used anywhere on the Pengolla—approved by the World Magic Alliance itself.
Kallus didn't have much himself, but it was enough to buy a small place in the suburbs of Vrilas. Kadyn was more than happy to get such help from Kallus. So he also rewarded the man with a thousand energy points. Nowadays, a thousand energy points have become a normal amount for him.
Then Kadyn said farewell to everyone and vanished together with others.
—
Kadyn appeared in a barren alley. He looked around and found a malnourished beggar at the corner, looking at him with a shocked expression. He was covered in bruises and his clothes were tattered. Kadyn walked towards him but the man crawled back in terror. Kadyn stopped and then shook his head. No matter where, weaks were trampled by strong. Then he threw a healing potion towards the man and strolled out of the alley.
When he came out a new world opened in front of him, people were talking and laughing and walking back and forth. He saw men and women with pointed ears, Kadyn knew that they were elves, and they were beautiful. Even men. They had hairs of different colors, blond and yellow and black and brown. Some of the women had their hair braided and others let them fall behind their backs. Open, locks flying in front of their faces. Beautiful.
He also spotted other people who were a lot shorter than an average human being. However, their bodies were full of muscles and their shoulders were wide. They had long mustaches and beards. Some of them had knots at the ends of the beards; others just didn't care. Dwarves. Kadyn was fascinated by the diversity of this place. He also saw people with tails and claws. People from the beast tribe.
Nonetheless, he didn't linger there and started to interact with one of the passersby. Kadyn learned that Vrilas was a huge city, even bigger than the entire Ceston Empire. He was a little surprised, but not shocked. After all, this city was the gathering place of all the races of Pengolla.
Kadyn also learned that Vrilas was divided into many regions and districts. This particular place was called Dewhurst. After that Kadyn asked him about the place where he could buy a small plot, and it wasn't hard for him to get there.
—
"At last," Kadyn said as he slouched on the couch, "we have a shop in Vrilas."
"But this place is no different than Ceston," Cecelia said. "We can hardly find anyone above rank 4 mage."
Dewhurst was in the eastern side of Vrilas. One of the district. It was a medium-sized place, not too big, neither too small. It was just a better version of the Ceston Capital. Although it was nowhere close to the center of the Vrilas where the headquarters of the World Magic Alliance had been established, Kadyn had to spend every Shim that Kallus had given him to buy just a small plot. Furthermore, it was not even in the marketplace of the Dewhurst.
"Don't worry," Kadyn said. "Now we are here, it won't take much time to gain popularity. We would rule the entire Dewhurst just like Ceston. Sooner or later." Then he looked at Morwag who was sitting on the other side of the room and said, "Morwag, can you get the detailed information about the rates of the artifacts and potions in Dewhurst?"
"Sure," Morwag said. "But I would need someone to help me. I would be able to collect data faster and more efficiently."
"Good," Kadyn nodded. "Do it in the morning. Let's rest for today."
The night passed, and the day arrived. The sun scattered its warm rays from beyond the clouds and between the trees. After having breakfast Kadyn had sent Morwag to gather the information. Cecelia and Elora and Zelie and Rayna went out together with Kove and Melvona. They wanted to look around. All of them were curious about the new city.
Dion also wanted to go out together with others, however, Hot Rod dragged him into the Artisan Hall and forced him to forge new artifacts together with him. The boy was already rank 3 mage so he could forge rank 3 artifacts. They had gathered all kinds of materials; it was no problem. Kadyn could always buy them from his Virtual Shop.
Kadyn got bored after everyone left. Only a few new people that he had recruited left in the shop. He wasn't going to open the shop today, so there were no customers either. He stood up and decided to check out Dewhurst as well.
"Hey, are you going out?" a shadow flashed and a beautiful lady appeared beside him.
"Ah, yes, do you want to come along with me?"
"Sure," Alerathla said. "I was getting bored, anyway."
Kadyn smiled and strolled out of the shop. Alera rarely appeared in front of the others. Though she looked quite confident and experienced from the outside, in reality, she was shy and introverted. Almost like an inexperienced girl that had separated from her family. Though she felt comfortable in front of Kadyn, intimate even. After all she was his contracted beast. They trusted each other as if it was a natural thing to do.
Kadyn strolled together with Alera and arrived at a bustling place. Though soon he realized that something was wrong with this place. He lifted his head and his gaze fell upon one of the buildings. "Blissful Night Brothel."
