191 Pumpkin Girl OP?!

Pumpkin Girl glanced at Jack with terror in her beautiful eyes. 

"What happened?!" He approached her, helping her steady her shaking body. 

"They felt so vile, so dark, so revolting, so—" She spat in utter disgust. 

"Who?!" 

She had trouble finding the words to explain it. 

"The visitors in town. As soon as I saw them, I grew sick. It was like my very being was warning me that they were bad news. It felt like they weren't human, like…." 

"I understand, so bad peeps." 

"No! Not, just bad. Evil! Utterly evil and… I don't know! But it's better if we stay far away from that place and them! They're like…the opposite of a Farmar's blessing!" 

"Opposite?" 

"Corrupted, sickening, ….we need to stay away, even you! I know you're strong, but they're even more powerful, I swear!" 

She kept repeating to stay away and how vile they were. The blessing was life magic….Wouldn't this make what she felt death magic?! 

As for the enemies being stronger….no shit! Level 15 was high for a player in the game's current state but weak compared to the area's NPCs! 

"Alright, no need to panic. I'll check it out real quick and be right back." He gave her a reassuring smile. 

"Didn't you hear what I just told you?! They're super strong! Like way too strong!" She screamed. But, seeing him walking toward the farm's exit, she suddenly made a decision. 

"I won't let you!!!!" She blocked him. 

Along with her declaration, her hands started glowing a deep green, the color of life magic. A wave later, the entire freaking pumpkin field began glowing! 

That's when the pumpkins plants all around suddenly came alive. Green vines grew, heading toward Jack all at once! 

He couldn't help but gasp in surprise. Wait…she had a combat mode?! This sweet and gentle girl?! Why hadn't she used it against the rats then?! 

But as he looked more carefully, he understood. Her power resonated with the land, making it unique.

She also gasped as she saw this, seemingly as surprised as him. Jack protecting her Pumpkins had rendered her much more powerful!

Heck, she was so surprised that she almost lost control over her magic. But at the very last second, her resolve to stop him allowed her to keep going. 

"Immobilize him." She ordered. 

The vines rushed at him crazily. As he saw their info, he couldn't help but gulp. How the fuck was he supposed to deal with that?! Would even fire help?!

The issue wasn't its level or even how fast and sturdy it was. No, the problem was the freaking number! There were more vines than hair in a bigfoot's ass! 

"How about we talk this through? Look, I'll be careful and—"

"You still want to go?! Who's gonna protect my farm if you die stupidly?!" 

She shouted heatedly. Who was going to protect the pumpkin patch, really?! Said the girl who was going all godly druid on his ass! 

Jack could only give a wry smile as the vines completely entrapped him. What was he supposed to do, fight her to death?! 

A few seconds later, he was completely stuck with vines holding him solidly in place. He was only able to move his head and nothing else. 

"You really can't go!" She repeated once more. 

"Why?" 

At first, she was flustered, but then she turned serious. Her gaze showed incredible resolve. 

"Because I need you to stay alive! There are so many things you can't do while dead: carve pumpkins, tell stories, eat my cooking—"

"Woo?!" (Confused!) 

Moon Moon couldn't help but give her a strange look. What was she talking about? Dying wasn't such a big deal. Still, she had a point….one couldn't eat while dead! 

The little wolf had tasted Pumpkin Girl's cooking, and it was just amazing. If going to town meant that she wouldn't cook anymore, then perhaps it should stop its master too… 

Jack couldn't help but chuckle. Moon Moon was dreaming about food again, wasn't it? Thanks to the saliva and the huge wolfish grin on its face, it was apparent. 

Pumpkin Girl spoke again: 

"Promise me you won't risk your life! Do a Life Vow, and I'll free you!" She insisted. 

A life vow? This was very similar to the oath the Chief had done, the main difference being the nature of the magic enforcing it— not that it mattered too much. 

"Ah, fine. I won't risk my life, and I'll—" but suddenly, Jack's face started twitching like crazy. 

"Are you alright?!" She asked, worried. 

"My face's itching so much!" He complained, seemingly trying to scratch it on the vines. 

Pumpkin Girl sighed in relief before chuckling. She naively approached, wanting to ease his discomfort. But as she raised her hand, Jack took the opportunity to strike. 

He suddenly erupted with incredible power as he turned into a man of fire! Instantly the vines restraining him were burned to cinders. 

He was free, but not for long as the vines in the back were already heading his way. He wasn't strong enough to face such powerful magic, but he didn't have to. 

Pumpkin Girl's eyes widened as she saw him charge straight at her. He was emitting such a powerful aura right now! 

She knew she had screwed up but didn't have time to react. 

He lunged at her and used an incredibly powerful forbidden technique to defeat her: a forceful kiss! 

Wait, waaaatttt?! At that moment, her brain stopped working. She blanked, not understanding what was happening.

Had he just kissed her?! His tongue invading her mouth seemed to confirm it, but whaaat?! 

He could feel her tremble in shock under his touch, sensed her unconsciously inching closer, and could hear her breathing becoming rougher. 

At that moment, she was suddenly recalling all the times he had told her that he loved her pumpkins, her cooking, or watching her. Had he meant it in that way?! 

She felt a warmth in her heart that soon spread to her entire body. 

Still, what about all the times she had tried seducing him?! It didn't make any sense! But then she noticed his teasing look. Had he simply been messing with her all this time?! 

Ah, whatever. She'd just enjoy it! She finally proactively answered his kiss wholeheartedly. 

Jack enjoyed himself for a while but finally separated from her. She was already staring at his lips, longing for more. But, he interrupted the magical moment. 

"Wait for me. I'll be back soon." He uttered. 

"What?! No! I won't!—" That's when she finally realized in horror that her spell was long over. "Y-you kissed me to mess with my magic?!" 

"Perhaps." 

"I can still stop you! If—" She tried to act strong, only to be stopped by another kiss. 

"We both know you're out of mana." He grinned, kissing her yet another time. 

She had no choice but to come to two realizations: 

1. She wouldn't be able to stop him anymore. 

2. He really enjoyed kissing her 

"I'll go check out the town, but I promise I'll be back. In exchange, you'll have to promise me that you won't risk your life."

"Me? You're the one that—"

He grinned as he suddenly emitted so much demonic energy that it made the air ripple around him. The mana was dreadful, oppressive, and even vile-looking!

He paused before asking: 

"Do you understand now? I'm not so easy to bully. On the other hand, you will be incredibly weak outside of this farm. Don't put yourself in danger." 

"Yes, but—" She protested. 

"I give you my word: I'll be back. After all, I'm not done having fun with your pumpkins." He teased her. 

She felt like screaming "Which pumpkins?!" but then noticed Moon Moon approaching. 

"Woo!" (No need to worry!) 

The little wolf raised its little paw in the air. It was giving her its word that it would keep its master safe. 

As she saw the wolf trying its best to look incredibly heroic, she couldn't help but giggle. The two sure were peculiar! Then again, they had been since their very first meeting. 

She sighed deeply, calming herself and even grinning. 

"Alright, but you better honor your promise of I swear to Farmar that I'll make you regret it!" She playfully added. 

"A long time ago, people used to call me Demon King…." (A few days) 

"?" 

"A Demon King always honors his promises!" He looked so convincing. 

Jack waved her goodbye, leaving with his two orange companions in tow. He could already guess who the people in town were. 

This would hopefully be a very rewarding trip…
