"I trust you." Miyuki bowed before handing Amelia's medication to Gabriel and left the couple alone.

"Thank you," Gabriel took the medication and placed it on his side. He took the hairpiece out of her hair and ran his fingers through it. Being attentive as he cared for her while she rested on his lap. He enjoyed the peacefulness until his mother's return to the carriage.

"How is Amelia doing?" Edna climbed in and the door was closed.

Gabriel didn't look up at his mother but kept running his hand through her hair. "Still resting. I thought that she was having an attack but it could be the sake. Whatever it is, I will make sure that she rests as long as she needs."

"Gabriel," Edna waits until he looks up at her, "I am glad that you found the love of your life and that she is such a sweet girl. I know that you will take good care of her. Only twenty-nine more days until you are an official couple. With the way you look at her you are going to have a hard time."

"It is hard but then again it is not. When she is smiling sweetly and is giggling it is so easy to forget that she is unwell. When she is having an attack, I panic and only think about her recovery and safety. I will not do anything to hurt Amelia. She is so strong." Gabriel leans down and kisses the top of Amelia's head.

"I'm not as strong as you think I am." Amelia moved so that she could look up at Gabriel. "I try my best but there are some things that I cannot control." Amelia lifts her hand up and touches his cheek.

"How long have you been awake for? How are you feeling?" Gabriel looks down at her smiling. 'I am so glad that she woke up. Maybe she can tell me what happened.'

"Since Mother joined us in the carriage. I am very comfortable and I like the feeling of your fingers through my hair. This will happen from time to time, especially after I have a major attack. I blackout for no reason and there is no explanation. I am sorry that I forgot to mention it. It slipped my mind as it usually happens a day or two after an attack." Amelia brushes her fingers over Gabriel's cheek.

Gabriel rubs his cheek into the palm of her hand. "I am glad that it is not because of the fact that I gave you some sake. I was worried that since I gave you sake for the first time that you passed out from it." He doesn't take his eyes off her. "Mother, did you know that Amelia was awake?"

"I did. When I came in Amelia looked at me but she looked so relaxed I didn't want to spoil it for her and well you two are wonderful for each other." Edna shook her head smiling.

"Gabriel? I should take my medication now. Since the blackouts are here I will have to stay in bed until tomorrow. Or else I risk collapsing on the ground." Amelia watched his expressions from below and saw that there was a moment of panic on his face. "I will be okay."

Gabriel turned and kissed the palm of her hand. "Okay, if that is what you have to do then that is what we will do but when you need to eat I will hold you that way you will not fall over." He pulled out her medicine and slowly opened the first package and helped her sit up and fed it to her.

Taking each package she cringes and then feels her body being laid down. "Thank you." She rests her eyes as a bit of a dizzy spell hits then she blacks back out.

"Her illness is then the only thing that is holding her back. She is an amazing person and is so much stronger than most. I love that she is trying her hardest but at the same time, I wish that there was something that we could do. There is the help that comes from the shrine at least. Do you know what this is?"

"If I knew what it was I would work my damnedest to cure her. That is what I am working on now. Subaru is here because he knows about the disease. I am collecting information so that way I can give my fiance a better life. Fiance, I really love the sound of that." Gabriel looks at Edna and shows her his determination.

"I can see that you are determined, my son. So I will leave it to you and please do not forget to ask for help if you need it." Edna looked at the determination in his eyes and smiled, "I like her a lot."

"I started going over the file that Grandfather had for Amelia. In it, he wrote that he did not expect her to last this long and that she is a fighter. I have to agree with him. She has been battling this since she was two. Fourteen years is a long-ass time. Pardon my language." Gabriel rubbed Amelia's shoulders.

"Fourteen years! That is so sad. I knew that she was unwell but to have been fighting this for so long it is no wonder that she has such a strong motivation. Gabriel, you must do everything to keep her alive." Edna starts to cry and dabs her eyes with a handkerchief.

"You can count on it, Mother. I am doing everything that I can to keep her safe. I promise you that. Grandfather had a few entries where he changed her life expectancy. She was only supposed to live until she was six then it changed to eleven, fifteen, and the last entry was eighteen. So I have the next two years to do whatever I can to save her and with the fruit, she will live a little longer. I will keep reading the file. Father handed it over to me so that I could study it and as I am staying nearby. I will be able to make sure that the instructions are followed." Gabriel looks up at Edna. "I know this is a lot but she is still the love of my life and I will do whatever it takes. I promise you that."

Edna continues to wipe her tears away. "I know that you will make an amazing doctor just for her. I think that you work best with medicines and now that Kazuki is back you can focus on Amelia. Thank the goddess that you found him and dragged him back."

"Thank you, Mother. You know that means a lot to me." Gabriel started to cry a little.

Amelia lifted up her hand and wiped the tears away. "I know that you work as hard as Saito Sensei. Your Grandfather was puzzled by my disease as it was something new. It has been hard on my body and the medication is hard on my system but there is not a lot else that we can do."

"There might not be a lot that we can do but I will still try as hard as I can. You are in good hands." Gabriel looked at Amelia and smiled while blushing. "I am surprised you woke up so quickly."

"It is strange but each blackout has a different time length. I can't tell you when they come on as I get dizzy and then I no longer am awake. If I could I would tell you right away and then we would be able to lay me down." Feeling the carriage come to a stop Amelia holds out her arms. "Will you carry me, Gabriel?"

"If you thought that I would let you walk then you would be out of your mind. You just told me that you are having uncontrollable blackouts. I will only let you out of my sight so that you can change." Gabriel lifted Amelia up and carried out of the carriage and into the house. He changed into slippers and carried Amelia to his bedroom.

Mayumi peeked her head out of the room she was in and squealed. "WELCOME BACK! I hope that you had fun."

Amelia looked down at Mayumi. "But of course. I had your Uncle to look after me." She smiled at her before closing her eyes.

"Auntie is tired. I will leave you alone so that you can take her to sleep." Mayumi stands on her tiptoes to try and kiss Amelia on the cheek.

Gabriel kneels so that Mayumi could give Amelia a kiss and then stands back up. "Good girl, you go and play with Itsuki and Sara."

Scrunching her face, Mayumi looks at the floor. "Sara had too much work to do, so that other maid is with us but she is no fun. I do not like her."

"Mayumi, you are blocking the way for your uncle. Move out of the way." The maid walks up and pulls her out of the way roughly.

Gabriel's eyes narrow, "YOUR FIRED!! You should NEVER treat a child like that. If I was not holding my fiance I would slap you for your insolence."

Edna steps around Gabriel and gently pulls Mayumi away. "Go pack your stuff. You are no longer welcome here.
