120 Chapter 119
Alfred's eyes blazed with fury, as he watched his former comrade at the walls in the ranks of his enemy. He couldn't understand why his friend would join the demons. The fire that Henry unleashed upon them made him even angrier. Why was a human, one of the strongest mages from the Empire no less, working with those vile creatures?!
He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. Whatever the case, Henry was his enemy now. That betrayal hurt him to no end, but it was a fact which Alfred had to accept.
The catapults were firing non-stop, as the mages cast spell after spell. The earth and fire magic collided with each other, as the impacts ran through the field. The barriers blinked all the time, as fire spells impacted them, trying to break through the magic defense.

Alfred looked at the soldiers around him. They all were still, except those who operated the catapults. Most of them were nervous, gripping their weapons, as their knuckles turned white.
The horses of the cavalry were uneasy, as they reared on the spot, their knights trying to calm them down. The soldiers loading the catapults were huffing, trying with all their strength to load those enormous stones. Their foreheads were full of sweat, as all of them were working in unison without stop.
Only a few minutes had passed since the battle started, but the tension in the air was already visible. He wasn't sure if those nervous soldiers, waiting for their turn, could handle all of that, but for now, they were uniform in their movements, waiting for the next order.
Howls of beasts echoed from the north side, as he turned around to look for the culprits.
Kobolds, trolls, goblins, and werewolves emerged from the forest, charging towards the castle. Not a moment later, a huge aura manifested from there, one that showed the power and authority of the demon that wielded it.
"Another Demon Lord." Alfred murmured, as he squinted his eyes at the tide of demons that was charging towards the castle. He heard a gulp next to him, as his focus returned to the soldiers around him. All of them were trembling, visibly scared from that aura.
'That's not good.' He thought. Looking around, he spotted the general in this expedition. With steady steps, Alfred moved in his direction and a few moments later, he was already next to him.
"General, what do you think we should do about this?" Alfred pointed at the tide of monsters, his brows raised.
"It seems like they aren't interested in us. It's more like, they are even helping us with their attack. I say, we do nothing about them and concentrate our efforts against the walls. But, you never know what they will do next. Pass my orders, make a defensive perimeter against them, be wary of attacks!"
Alfred gritted his teeth. It was true that this was to their advantage, but he couldn't just accept the help of other demons.
"General, we should exterminate all of them!" He exclaimed, the wrath visible on his face.
"Look, Hero, we will kill them all, but first let them kill and exhaust each other. We can take advantage of that. Can't you feel the aura from the forest? I bet that's another powerful demon. Let them clash. If those demons want to attack the castle, why should we stop them? They are making our lives easier."
Alfred wasn't happy with that, but he had no choice in this. He turned around, frustrated. First, he saw his friend working for the demons, now he was looking at the army, taking advantage of demons attacking each other. Why not just kill them all and be done with it?
He felt another powerful aura and looked at the castle. 'That aura… So the Shadow Lord is finally moving.' His expression was one of disgust, as he felt that familiar aura. How many humans died in this demon's hands? How many knights were sacrificed? Even his friend joined that fiend.
He saw the vampire flying out of the castle, to the north, where the other powerful being was. He was tempted to follow and battle against those demons, but in the end, he stopped himself. 'They are too powerful for me, I can't kill them alone. Let's destroy the castle first.'
The charging tide finally collided with the barrier protecting the castle, making it blink to the existence, as the demons were flung back from the impact. With claws, jaws, fists, and weapons, they started to attack the barrier, as arrows from the walls rained down upon them.
Alfred looked back at his side, as the boulders and spells were unleashed one after the other. Stone spears and rocks of all sizes were sent at the barrier, as cracks finally started to form on it.
Soon, the barrier would fall and the real battle would begin. And soon it happened. Not even ten minutes later, the barrier was finally shattered and the humans prepared their charge. Their barrier was still standing, but that wouldn't be the case for long either, as cracks started forming on it, too.
At the side of the demon wave, he could see the carnage on the ground, as they pushed forward, stepping on their fallen comrades. The howls and snarls could be heard even from this distance. They were like berserkers, going forward without concern until they found their target and ripped it apart.
Alfred took a deep breath and readied himself. Soon, it would be his turn and he would charge against his enemies. Soon, he would have his revenge. It was only a matter of time before the charge would start.
The only concerning things at the moment were the explosions that echoed deep in the forest, where the two Demon Lords were battling each other. The power from their fight could be felt even from his spot, as the earth trembled. An enormous shadow was cast upon the place, where he believed they were fighting, as no light could reach that place.
"Charge!"
Finally, the command came, and he started charging with the soldiers. It was time to exterminate the evil from this land.
