33 Kushina's Confession

He listened to their movements and could vaguely guess where they were, he simply jumped up in the air and landed on a tree. He kept his eyes closed for some time before he felt a sudden wind cleaning the mist from the area.

Even Shun was surprised by this wind as he opened his eyes and was surprised to see an incoming Fireball towards him. A smile tugged on his handsome face as he murmured, "Good one…"

He suddenly decreased the chakra he used in his legs and skid down the tree to dodge the Fireball, but at the footsteps, Kushina was standing with a victorious expression on her face.

It was as if he was done for now, but what she didn't expect was exert a sudden amount of chakra and use that force to get away from the tree.

It was quite surprising for Kushina as she had thought that she had won at that moment and wasn't able to react on time as Shun seemed to be dodging their attacks.

This continued for quite some time as he danced around the field while dodging their attacks elegantly and thinking a step ahead of them. After some time, both Mikoto and Kushina was taking long breaths as they turned towards each other and spoke out, "Switch now!"

Shun's eyes widened a little as he saw Kushina maintaining a long distance from him while Mikoto charged towards him as her Black Coloured Eyes changed into Red Coloured Eyes with a Two Tomoes in both the eyes.

Now, Shun did jump back and tried to maintain his distance from Mikoto for as long as he could because he knew that the Sharingan was going to enhance her capabilities to fight one of one in a Taijutsu fight.

Kushina concentrated her chakra and started doing hand-seals for her Jutsu, it only took her four hand seals and a bit of time to concentrate the optimum amount of Chakra and she was ready to go.

She saw Mikoto turning towards her with a slight smirk and nodded back, "Wind Style: Great Breakthrough Jutsu."

Mikoto jumped back and added her own, "Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu." This Fireball Jutsu perfectly complemented the Wind Jutsu and increased the firepower even more.

At the incoming attack, Shun finally pulled out his hands from his pockets and spoke out, "Let me show you a real Uchiha Fire Jutsu."

"Fire Style: Majestic Flame Destroyer!" He yelled out the name as he released a huge sea of Fire from his mouth and completely destroyed the Combo of Wind and Fire Jutsu by Kushina and Mikoto, he put out the Jutsu as he didn't want to injure them with it.

He huffed for a few seconds as even he felt a drain in his chakra reserves after using such a Chakra draining Jutsu. Mikoto and Kushina fell down on the ground as even though they were standing far from the impact, they could feel the heat.

It was beyond anything they could think of, Shun spoke out, "And the match has ended I think. Mikoto, you must have copied this Jutsu with your Sharingan right, attempt this Jutsu when you have recovered your Chakra."

Mikoto nodded her head as she had indeed copied this Jutsu with her Sharingan, she couldn't believe the amount of Chakra that she saw in that Jutsu, she knew that she won't be able to use this Jutsu when she was low on Chakra, like at this moment.

As for Kushina, she didn't even feel the drain in her Chakra reserves and was going as if she could still fight another two matches against Shun. It was just that she didn't have any motivation to fight against Shun because he was too strong for the both of them.

Her confidence was completely shattered in herself, she turned around and ran away from the training ground. The direction in which she ran was the forest.

Mikoto was startled as she didn't imagine that Kushina would take the loss so hard, "Shun, go after her. It seems as if she didn't take the loss very well."

Shun nodded his head as he had planned to do that, "Alright then, wait for me here. I will return back with her as soon as possible. Just lay down and rest for now."

With that, he started to run towards the direction in which Kushina ran, it didn't take him very long to find Kushina running with her full speed.

He caught her hand and prevented her from running forwards and asked her in a stern voice, "What happened Kushina? Why are you running away? I didn't take you to be the girl who can't take a loss!"

This did make Kushina to stop struggling, she didn't speak but she also stopped struggling so Shun stayed silent for some time as he waited for her to answer him.

After some time, when he realized that she won't speak, he asked her again, "Tell me Kushina, why are you running away after this loss?"

Kushina turned around as Shun was surprised to see her face which seemed to be trying to hold back her tears. He didn't understand what he did wrong, he was just asking her this question.

"You know, I just wanted to get strong enough to support you on the missions, I wanted to prove today that I could stand and fight alongside you and not hold you back but I now realize the difference between us, you didn't even need to take off your hands from your pockets to deal with us." Kushina spoke out with a broken expression…

At this moment, Shun stayed silent for some time because he replied her in a calm voice, "Kushina, I have been training for these 6 years, I have been doing mission since I was 7 years old. Do you think that 3-4 years of training is enough to bypass that experience?"

Kushina spoke out once again, "I love you alright, I want to support you and not just wait for you back here. Is that too much to ask? I don't want to be stronger than you… I just want to have enough strength to stand together with you. Is that really so much to ask?"

She didn't think much before she confessed her feelings for him, even Shun didn't expect that she would have feelings for him. He didn't really know how to handle such a case and softly caressed her back and spoke out, "Don't think that much about it Kushina? To be honest, I don't like you romantically, you are my best friend but I don't like you as a lover."

Now this, this completely shook Kushina, she couldn't believe that she just heard those words from his mouth, a bitter laugh escaped her, "So… You do not like me huh. Is it because you like Mikoto?"

Her heard completely shattered when she saw Shun nodding to her words, she felt extreme anger but not towards Mikoto but towards herself as how could she be blind about this.

Her anger started to radiate from her body as she spoke out, "Why!? Why do you like her and not me!? Is it because I am an Uzumaki, a foreigner!? Or is it because of this beast inside of me!?"

As she continued to speak, her eyes transformed into red colour and her pupil changed into that of a slit. It was quite similar to the eyes of the Nine Tailed Fox.
