16 Teaming with Sakumo Hatake

Kushina slept along with Mikoto for the night and all three of them woke up together, they got ready and went towards the Uzumaki compound, Shun did tell Mikoto that Mito Uzumaki had passed away, she was like a grandmother for Kushina so Mikoto agreed to watch the ceremony conducted by the Hokage and the other members.

With that, they got to the Uzumaki Clan, they witnessed the Hokage and others to carry Mito's body towards the cemetery ground of Konoha. It was the location where the important people were buried and Mito Uzumaki definitely fell in such a category.

She was being buried in the presence of almost all the high ranked people who were under the Hokage. Danzo Shimura (The head of the Konoha's Anbu forces), Sakumo Hatake (Konoha's White Fang), and one of the Legendary Three Sannin, Orochimaru.

The others were the Jounin and other instructors who were present there, the Hokage loudly spoke out, "Yesterday, Konoha lost a valuable person, the one who was the very life of my teacher, Lord Hashirama. I hope they meet in the heavens and be happy. Let us remain silent for these 2 minutes."

Nobody went against his words, for the whole two minutes, everything was silent in the area, they couldn't even hear the rustling of the leaves. Soon, the 2 minutes were up and Shun turned around with Mikoto, Kushina following him.

He was having a blank expression as he saw all this because of a single person, it was because he saw a bandaged person standing along side the Hokage, he had seen that person together with Kansuke Uchiha when he was young.

He didn't know the identity of this person and was quite curious about it, his eyes turned cold as he felt that he may be the one due to whom he died and later, even Aunt Miyuki died. He knew that he would have to be careful around this guy and soon averted his eyes.

Shun turned towards Kushina and Mikoto as he told them, "Alright, its academy time for the both of you now. I will go and do some mission, we will meet later." Both of them nodded as they heard his words, they split ways as Shun went towards the Hokage tower while Mikoto and Kushina went towards the Academy.

Shun was moving towards the Hokage's Tower as he wanted to do a mission and earn some money before going to the Forest of Death to train. Now that Mikoto knew he was a Shinobi it did benefit him a bit.

He could also explore more parts of the Konoha Academy as his Rank rose higher and higher. Right now, his chakra was enough to let him perform almost 20 Shadow Clones with tiring him.

After thinking for some time, he decided that he would master the Shunshin technique, he wanted to be faster in a fight, he knew that he wasn't anywhere near his limit yet. His limit had still not arrived yet!

He had planned out his day and entered the Hokage's office for a mission, he stood there for some time as he saw heard the Hokage speaking something to a White-Haired man, it was Sakumo Hatake.

He understood that he came at a wrong time, he quickly turned around and nearly left the office that he heard the old and calm voice of the Hokage, "Don't go Shun, I was thinking of calling out for you. You are going to work in this mission with Sakumo Hatake as your senior and complete this mission."

Shun's face remained calm as he heard that information, he fixed his eyes on Sakumo Hatake's face while Sakumo Hatake did the same and observed him, they were trying to gauge each other with their presence.

After some time, Shun nodded his head to Hokage's words and spoke out, "May I ask the details of the mission?" Hokage nodded his head as he heard that question, he looked towards Sakumo Hatake and gave a signal to start talking and interact with Shun.

Sakumo Hatake saw the nod of the Hokage as he looked towards Shun and smile widely, "Looks like we will be partners for this Mission, nice to meet you. I am Sakumo Hatake and you are…?"

Shun gave out his name in a monotonous tone, "And I am Shun Uchiha. Nice to meet the Konoha's White Fang." Sakumo chuckled for some time as he heard his title, he liked it a bit. After some time, his expression grew a bit serious.

He started moving his mouth and spoke up, "Well, this mission is a bit serious, we have to go and meet up with a contact of Jiraiya Sama near the boundaries of Konoha. Its quite an important information so we have to go near the boundaries of the Konoha and Suna to meet up with this person."

With that, they got ready as Shun asked for some time and wrote a letter, he went back to the house and kept it on top of the table as he didn't want to inform Mikoto that he was going on a Mission and may be gone for a few days.

He returned back to see the man looking at him with a kind smile on his face, Sakumo looked towards Shun as he spoke out, "Let's go now. I think we will reach there before night but let's pick up our pace so that we can reach even faster."

Shun didn't really have any problem as Sakumo was the one who was in-charge of the mission, he would have to follow through the orders of Sakumo till the end of the Mission. The two of them looked towards each other and suddenly disappeared from that location as they used Shunshin to start moving towards the Konoha-Suna border.

After reaching the border, many of the Jounins got the news that Sakumo Hatake had come to the border, they greeted him and Sakumo introduced Shun, "Meet Shun, he is my partner for this mission."

The Jounins turned towards Shun just snorted, they could get an approximate idea about his age, they couldn't believe that the White Fang actually accepted such a ninja as their partner, many people thought that his power was too overestimated.

Of course, these were the people who hadn't witnessed Sakumo Hatake's power or haven't fought him yet. If they would have, they would have realized that the rumours didn't even begin to describe him.

He was a kind man with a strong sense of justice, but what made him even more valuable on the battlefield was his intelligence. They despised the hokage to pair up such a legendary shinobi with a kid, they thought that he would just hold back the White Fang.

In response, Shun glanced at them with his calm gaze, he honestly didn't care as to what they thought of him, the moment he was graduated, he knew that many people would think that he wasn't that good.

It was expected as at his age, nobody would expect him to be a strong ninja, he didn't speak anything in front of them and remained quiet for the whole way. Sakumo noticed his silence and continued to talk to his colleagues, after some time, he told them that he came here for a mission and had to do it so he had to leave them now.

They did request him to stay there as he was quite powerful as well as intelligent, he would be able to save some people's lives if he stayed at the camp, Sakumo also wanted to stay at the camp and help out his fellow Konoha Shinobis.

But he also knew that the piece of information was also quite important, he had to grab hold of it before the informant decides to change his location. He still decided to return back to this camp and help them out as much as he could so that Konoha would have less causalities.
