15 Realization

Shun did have some tears in his eyes but he didn't say anything, he just hugged her even more tightly as he continued to hear her ranting more hateful words to him. Kushina listened to Mikoto's rant for quite some time before she was sick of it and had a tick mark on her face as she suddenly voiced out, "Stop, Mikoto. He is crying, please stop."

Mikoto did stop as she pulled back and saw some tears flowing out of Shun's eyes, she felt as if her heart was breaking into pieces. She remembered that he was also with them for his whole childhood, he had spent the same amount of time with her parents as she has.

She realized that she had gone too far when she called him an outsider. Her Sharingan deactivated as her emotions gradually started to calm down and apologised to him, "Shun, I apologise. I-I didn't know why I was ranting so much. I was just so angry at the thought of being lied to for these two years, I felt betrayed."

Shun held her in his arms as he smiled a little at her, "Idiot! You think I care about those little words, I was just sad that I caused my friend to cry, to make her angry at me, to betray her trust. I didn't know what to do at that time, Aunt Miyuki had written that I would have to take care of you so I wanted to shoulder everything, I wanted you to not be sad at Aunt Miyuki's death. I didn't think that it would turn into this after 2 years. I should have told you at that time."

Mikoto went in his embrace as she started to speak in a soft tone, "I-I don't know how I would have reacted at that time. Maybe I would have stayed depressed for many days so I don't know if your choice was right or not but I do know that I would have liked to know the truth before."

Shun nodded as he acknowledged his error, he thought that it would have been better to tell her the truth later as she may be able to understand it but he didn't think that she was bottling such emotions in herself.

The sudden eruption of these emotions had even awakened the Sharingan, he had deduced that his Sharingan awoke due to the truth about his parent's death and he knew the emotional turmoil that he was feeling at that time, it was beyond anything that he knew.

He waited for her emotions to calm down as he looked towards Kushina and saw that she was confused, she didn't think that this was what she would witness in his house. He bitterly smiled as he himself didn't think that this would go so far.

After Mikoto was completely calm, she finally used her Black Eyes to glance at Kushina, she was curious about her and asked, "Who are you?"

Kushina blinked for a few moments before she let out a huge smirk and replied, "I am Uzumaki Kushina." Mikoto let out a 'ohh' as she heard her name, she didn't think that there were Uzumaki in the village.

Kushina felt as if her introduction wasn't over as she suddenly spoke out, "I am going to be the first female hokage dattebane~" Hearing her verbal tic, Mikoto chuckled out and spoke, "hahaha…"

Kushina got a little embarrassed and used her anger to cover up her embarrassment, "Hey!! Don't laugh!" Mikoto did try to control her laugher as she voiced out, "Nothing, it's just funny that the future hokage has such an embarrassing Verbal Tic."

Kushina's face turned as red as her own hair and didn't know how to respond, she was completely speechless against that reply. Shun listened to their banter as he turned towards Mikoto and spoke out loud, "Alright then, I will tell you the thing about the Shadow Clone now. You must be curious about that right?"

Mikoto was indeed curious about that, she didn't understand how he came to know that technique. Shun smiled a little as he looked towards Mikoto and spoke out, "Mikoto, my Sharingan was awakened two years ago. And during our Tree Climbing exercise, I saw Aunt Miyuki performing Shadow Clone Jutsu with my Sharingan and copied the technique."

He paused for a few moments as he let them digest his words, he looked towards Kushina and spoke out, "And how I met up with Kushina here, well, Lord Hokage called out for me today as he wanted to graduate me to be a Genin because I have the necessary knowledge as well as the Jutsu set to become a shinobi. So, I was given this headband and also a mission to escort Kushina to the Uzumaki compound as she is from the Uzumaki Village, an outsider."

Mikoto finally understood it, she nodded her head as she looked towards Kushina, "Well, that means you are going to join the Academy. We will meet there even though our Classes will most probably be different but we can still meet each other in breaks. I don't really talk to other people and since Shun will not be there in the Academy, I will be bored as hell now."

Kushina smirked widely as she liked the thought of making new friends, she excitedly nodded her head and spoke, "Of course, I also don't know anyone other than the two of you here dattebane~"

The two of them started to talk around for some time and Shun sat down on the chair as he thought of something, he was now curious as to what Aunt Miyuki's letter meant, he was young at that time so he didn't think much about the words written in that letter but now that he thought about it, those words were a bit weird.

Just why did she say that she was going to her death, it was like she knew that what she was going to do was going to be incredibly dangerous and she had zero chance of surviving it. So, why did she need to do such a thing, couldn't she live a normal life?

He also remembered that around a month before that letter, Aunt Miyuki had started to act strange, it was like she was holding back her emotions. Suddenly, a thought struck him like a bolt of lightning as his eyes remained widened and stared on the ground.

'If what I think is true then this matter is much deeper than I thought, I have to be careful to not enter his eyes otherwise…' He stared towards Mikoto and Kushina as he thought of the consequences, he knew that there was not a scope of error in what he was about to do now.

'I have to investigate this scene very deeply. If I remember correctly, Uncle Kansuke was a member of the Anbu, if that is where it started then it all adds up. I have to get in the Anbu, and fast.' Shun thought of this as he thought of the ways to enter the Anbu, he had read that the Anbus are selected by the Hokage or by the suggestions of the Elders.

The Shinobi had to perform exceptionally well, he must have a stealth that would make him hard to detect, so hard that the person wouldn't be able to sense his presence even if he was standing in front of him.

He thought of the opportunities that were in front of him for becoming an Anbu, after some time, he knew that there were opportunities during the missions, during the Chuunin exams.

He started to think how he could perform exceptionally well during a mission, he did have an idea about that but he hoped that he wouldn't have to go that far to execute it. It could be quite dangerous for the people around him as he couldn't be sure that he would be able to protect them.
