10 Chapter 10

[ ??? POV ]

Father arrived back a day before we expected him. Usually he gets caught up in work but it seems he made the journey with haste. I ran to the door to greet him.

"Father. Did you have a nice trip?"

"I have told you many times Aria. I was inspecting our settlements it wasn't a trip."

"Yes, but...."

"Actually, it's great that you're here. I have someone to introduce to you."

"You do?"

This is when I noticed him stood behind Father. Long silver hair that fell just before his eyes, I felt I would be lost inside his captivating stare. His eyes were the colour of sapphires. His clothes were strange. Black military style dress uniform with gold fittings and embroidery. Was he a prince? I felt some sort of familiarity from him. It was strange but was this a fateful meeting?

"This is Yuki Fujimoto and starting from today he will be tasked as your personal guard."

"Does this mean that you are finally allowing me to leave the palace?!"

[ Yuki POV ]

The king stepped out to the front of the palace. He spoke softly to someone. I stepped out to take a look. A girl of about my age looked my way. Crimson Red hair and emerald eyes. She had a stunning figure. So I guess this must be the princess? Well she fits the part.

"Hey Yuki. Let me introduce you to my daughter."

I took at step forwards and stood beside the king.

"Yuki This is my daughter Aria. And as you know from today, you will be tasked with guarding her."

I took a step towards her and held out my hand. "Hi, I'm Yuki it's a pleasure to meet you. "

"How dare you talk to the princess like that!" A sword was swung towards me by a large man wearing a full set of plate armour. I jump backwards into a flip and landed on the carriage behind me.

"And you are?" I was kind of pissed at this point. Why do people swing swords at me all the time?

He didn't answer and jumped at me with his sword aimed at me. I jump forwards and punched him in the stomach. His armour shattered in an instant. He spat out blood and his body dropped to the floor. Before I could speak I was surrounded by a whole army of knights.

A thunderous laugh made the knights stop in their tracks.

"Guards stand down now!" The king shouted

The second he finished. All the swords that were pointed towards me suddenly vanished back to the sides of the wielders.

"Mia I want you to take general Wilhelm to the infirmary."

"Yes Sir!" She rushed to the knight I had just dropped and had helped him to his feet and walked off to the front of the palace.

"I am truly sorry about that Yuki." The king bowed his head towards me. And by the look of the guards this wasn't a thing that happens too often. "You see my general likes to up keep order. And if people don't show the royal family respect it is often seen as disrespect. But seeing your strength. I could hardly talk down to you."

The girl he had introduced as his daughter now stood beside him with her head hung towards me also.

"Please forgive him." She lifted her head and spoke.

This was a bit too much for me to be honest. I didn't know how to react. I felt guilty as i had just injured their knight and it also felt like they were treating me like i was above them. The guards all dropped to one knee.

This made me feel alienated. Before I was joined by the knights but now i am the only on standing.

I stood scratching my head trying not to show my embarrassment. "It's not a problem at all." The king seemed relieved and lifted his head.

"Well that will be all for today i think." He stood and thought for a second. "For now I will have a maid show you around. And after that you may join us in the dinning room for dinner."

"That sounds good." I said before being guided by a maid.

She was quite young and had long brown hair that hung down to her lower back.. I had never seen an actual maid before she was actually really cute. She lead me around the whole palace. It was huge my legs felt like they were on fire by the time the tour finished. She then lead my to a room at the end of a hallway.

"This is your room sir. I will come back for you when dinner is ready."

"That's fine. But i have just one request."

"Yes sir?"

"Do you think you could stop calling me sir? It makes me feel nervous."

"I couldn't possibly."

"I see then. I think i'm going to take a bath."

"Ok sir just through here please."

We entered the room. It was enormous the bed had gold bed posts and the walls were red with a gold floral design at the other side of the room there was another door. She walked through so I followed. It was a huge room with a hot spring type bath all the way across it. She turned around to leave.

"Wait a minute."

She turned to look at me "Yes Sir?" She tilted her head and looked up at me.

"What is your name?" She looked surprised by my question and thought for a minute.

"It's Illya Sir." She bowed her head.

As she bowed her hair moved to the side revealing two brown fox like ears on the top of her head. I walked closer and gently touched one. Was she a demi human?

"WHHA!" She jumped back and looked extremely embarrassed

"Oh I'm sorry its just I haven't seen your race before."

"It's ok. But please ask before touching my ears sir." She seemed to forgive me and then left.

I finished my bath and walked back to my room. There was a set of clothes at the foot of the bed. The door creaked a little bit.

"Illya is that you?"

"How did you know!" She nervously said as she entered the room

"I could hear you heart beat." I made a joke to make her feel at ease.

"What? Really! That's so cool Sir!" She ran towards me.And hugged me around my waist. I was still wearing just a towel and it was starting to slip off. I knelt down as fast as a could and held it in place with my hand.

"That was close."

"Huh???" She looked at me confused.

She let go and hugged me around my neck.

"Whoa what are you doing?"

"Thank you...." She buried her head into my neck.

"What do you mean?"

"You are still nice to me even though I am a demi human."

I place my hand on her head. "Well I couldn't be mean to such a cute girl. Could I?

She looked embarrassed and turned away from me.

"And if you want my opinion those ears make you even cuter. Oh did you put these clothes out for me?"

"Yes Sir."

"Thank you. But seriously please drop the Sir part."

"I can't as a maid I must show you respect."

"Ok then how about this. When no body is around you call me Yuki?"

"I guess.. That works...Yuki."

"See it's not that hard is it?"

"No."

"So what time am I wanted in the dining room?"

"You have 20 minutes."

"Ok that's fine."

I got ready and made my way to the dining room...
