135 Speeding Things Up
"Y-yes." Her father answered in a grave tone.
A neighboring Secondary City. In terms of distance, it's far enough that one needed to ride at least four hours using the underground railway to reach it. Nevertheless, it's still a neighbor and four hours wasn't that long, timewise.
There were Rift Monsters with incredible speeds so the concern building up in their minds was only natural.
Besides, they had just recently been devastated by the Rift that opened right next to their current district. The damage it caused was something that's still being grieved by a lot of citizens.
Now, they're seeing at least five Dimensional Rifts opening up at the same time, swallowing a city in the same category as theirs.
Althea and her parents couldn't help but gulp down at the unbelievable sight. Yet none of them could utter more words as their eyes became fixated on what was currently happening.
What was being shown on their TV was a shot taken by a drone that was being used by both the government and the media entities to scout the vicinity and inform the masses about any changes outside the place they were living in. That's why the events being shown on the TV had already happened. Nonetheless, the delay was only a few minutes.
Even while they're watching, the whole city has already been alerted as the voice of the Lonewind City Mayor rang out from outside their house. It's being done the same way it did back when there was a Rift that opened outside the city. A holographic screen hung above the sky.
The Secondary City's defense system was instantly activated as the bluish force field barrier quickly covered the whole city as seen on their TV screen.
With the barrier raised, it successfully stopped the tide of horrendous creatures albeit only for a few minutes. However, it was proven futile as the energy shield that enclosed the city was broken in less than a minute.
Explosions from the Dimensional Energy cannons installed on the wall started to bombard them but even those were useless to chip away the majority of the attacking tide of monsters. The numerous Dimensional Rift continued pouring out more and more Rift Monsters, beginning their siege of the city.
"D-dad, m-mom. What's going to happen to us?" Althea's feet finally got unstuck after realizing that they could be next. She had just gotten a new outlook on her life but if a disaster suddenly came to their city, even the most optimistic person would grovel in despair.
"Don't worry. We'll be moving to the Central District soon."
"That's right. There are a lot of Energy Refiners and Metadomes to protect the citizens. You continue with what you do. And let's follow the instructions from the Mayor.
Nervousness could clearly be picked up from her parents' voices but they tried to look fine for the sake of their daughter.
On the other hand, Althea's mind began to churn. 'That's right… I don't have to panic. More than that, I have to prepare. My brother is not here, no one else can protect them but me.'
As she thought that, an even bigger fire of determination bloomed in her eyes.

Back inside the Drawyz Domain, Aldrin finished directing his Dimensional Clones right after midnight. Looking at the map projected on his phone's screen, the few hours of influencing their movements put his clones in unexplored territory. Given that it's currently night as well as the growing fierceness of the Dimensional Creatures, they'd been attacked every step of the way.
Thanks to the Buzzhare that one of the Dimensional Clones controlled, the battles had become smooth sailing. However, with the number of dimensional creatures they encountered, it's nowhere near its original state when he had just bought it.
He found them a cave to hide for a while and placed the Buzzhare back in the Hangar before it could become a junk of metal.
[IDLE Points: 420980/510000]
"Thankfully, midnight is the time for the generated points to be credited to me," Aldrin muttered as he stared at the new height his IDLE Points reached. Despite the loss that would be incurred to repair the Buzzhare, he couldn't prevent his lips from curling upwards in elation.
Adding up the points gathered from the killed Dimensional Creatures, he really reached 400 thousand. The only reason why it's lower than he expected was that there are still a few hours left before he gets to renew the Merchants and Hunters.
"Sticking to the plan, I will not invest it to reach the peak stage as soon as possible. Instead, I'll jump to 75 Hunters. It kinda stings to consume more than 200 thousand points for it but it's a guaranteed profit investment in just a day."
The next bonus after the added Hunting Efficiency at 50 Hunters was +1 IDLE Points per Blood Essence and +10 per Monster Cores. The estimated income for that was at most double of what he could receive from 50 Hunters.
He's really in the realm of a millionaire now when it comes to Federation Credits. Yet, he wouldn't carelessly splurge on it for useless things.
After setting aside exactly 220 thousand IDLE Points, he's still left with more than 200 thousand.
He quickly browsed the Idle Shopping to check if it's possible to repair the Metadome and sure enough, there's a new option lined up which was labeled, 'Hangar'
After tapping that, he was met with another window. Although he could access the Hangar through the Idle Storage, what could be seen in the window located at Idle Shopping were upgrades he could purchase for it.
[Expand Hangar Slots: +1 Slot for 500,000 IDLE Points
Repair Stored Metadome: Starting from 1,000 IDLE Points]
There were only two options available and Aldrin only glanced at the first as it was something he didn't need or he couldn't afford at the moment before quickly tapping the second one.
The menu expanded to show five Hangar Slots with only the one labeled Garage 1 with further information, the latter four were marked EMPTY.
[EGP-SPD#002 Buzzhare
Durability: 50%
Repair Cost: 7,500 IDLE Points]
"Huh? That's expensive. I guess it's different from the repair kits that were handed to us…" Aldrin wondered after seeing that. But with 200 thousand at his disposal, he didn't hesitate to pay for it.
[Paid 7,500 IDLE Points for Metadome Repair Procedures]
[Estimated Completion Time: 20 minutes]
Upon seeing that, Aldrin gawked a bit. The repair kit that most Energy Refiners and Soldiers were using needed at least an hour to do its job and more often than not, it's not a complete repair…
"How high-tech… That's IDLE Database for you, huh?" He exhaled in amazement. "Anyway, I better not stall here. Next… Given that I saw how dangerous it was beyond the explored territories, I better give them another edge, not just a prepared escape pod in the form of one Metadome… I'm gonna buy more Metadome for every Dimensional Clones!"
Having decided that, Aldrin quickly went back to Idle Shopping and the Metadome section.
He purchased two more Buzzhares plus their addons for 80,000 Points and a different type of Metadome for 50,000 points.
The different type was something that he would let Tank use. A heavy-armored type of Metadome made by the Alpinecloud Industries.
Model ID: ACD-HVR#003 Robuster
Its speed was certainly slower than Buzzhare but its thick metal plates provided greater defensive capabilities.
To complete, Aldrin also purchased weapons based on what the Dimensional Clones needed for 20,000 more points.
As it wouldn't be delivered instantly in the Hangar, Aldrin called it a night and went to bed, setting his alarm again to not miss the renewal of both Merchants and Hunters.

As Day 5 of the Base Building dawned on the Lonewind City Base Camp. The supposed day-off that every trainee was looking forward to was disturbed by the arrival of the Instructors.
Even Aldrin who had a good night's sleep after relishing his swelling IDLE Points couldn't help but notice the heavy atmosphere brought by them.
"What's happening?" Frederic asked upon showing up from behind Aldrin.
"I don't know… I'm just going to find out." He answered.
They were all being asked to gather so everyone who was still asleep inside their lodgings was being called out.
As the leader of the camp, Aldrin placed himself at the forefront. He could spy Janet among the Instructors but the one who's supposed to be the supervisor was the one going to talk to them.
A while later, even Irina, Caroline and Clark showed up. The ones who were on sentry duty were also called to gather. The Instructors taking up their posts.
Once every trainee of the Lonewind Camp arrived, the Supervisor's eyes scanned them before focusing on Aldrin.
"Aldrin Fallwater." He started by calling his name, his voice projecting authority like a commanding soldier.
"Yes, sir!" Aldrin did the salute that Janet taught them during training.
"We received a directive to speed up the Training Camp. Starting today, we'll move on to the next part. The Exploration Phase. We Instructors will now settle in the Base Camp you built and will protect this place while all of you will be required to venture outside and complete objectives that we will set for all of you."
Upon hearing that, murmurs started rising from the back. Especially coming from the trainee who's looking forward to free time.
However, they're all silenced when the Instructors standing behind the Supervisor, projected their intimidating Energy Refiner presence.
As the leader of the camp, Aldrin stood tall and faced the Supervisor directly to ask a question.
"If I may ask. Is there a reason for this?" He had his guesses but it's better to confirm them rather than speculate.
"Yes, there is…" The Supervisor answered Aldrin's question in a grave tone, making everyone's chest thump in nervousness.
