130 Focusing on Points Generator

Even though Janet didn't elaborate on what she asked, Aldrin could easily deduce what she meant.

Whatever she encountered made her remember Aldrin's reminder. That's why upon returning, she immediately looked for him to search for an answer.

Aldrin expected that so he had some answers prepared without jeopardizing his actual source of strength.

"I don't know that much. But like I told you before, I had a bad feeling about this Dimension before we entered. Did elder sister hear about what happened earlier?"

"I do. I should commend you for that but it's not the right time for it. It's horrible out there. Had I not been there, everyone I brought with me would be…" Janet's voice trailed as it cast a gloomy air around the room. Totally unlike how she always carried herself.

She had a strong personality that even got her the nickname of Tyrant Princess. But judging at how she helplessly settled down on his bed without so much of a fuss like before, Aldrin could guess that something outside of her expectations happened.

"Elder sister, is it that serious? The hyenas that should only show up at night went on full force around us if not for those experts, I would've been mauled to death by the Dreadgnaw."

In a bid to lighten up the mood, Aldrin said that in a joking tone.

Janet sneered at him, "Mauled to death, huh? Last night, you're stabbed and were left to die. And now you have the energy to joke. Anyway, that's one thing. The Rift Monsters are behaving erratically than how they should be. This matter has been reported to the one running the Plainsteed Base Camp."

"However, I don't expect them to easily issue an evacuation. This is a treasure trove. Instead of leaving, they will definitely try to probe and defend their place here, no matter the change… This might end up like that time." She added with the last bits left said in a barely audible volume.

She tried asking more questions but given that even Aldrin wasn't clear of the specifics, he could only play it as his hunch.

Janet didn't linger too long in his room. But at least, that gloominess she had when she entered was cast off by talking to Aldrin.

Aldrin, on the other hand, learned of the result of the chase as well as parts of what happened that made her that despondent. Carlos escaped but considering where he was, and alone, it would be a miracle if he survived.

"With his death all but confirmed, I have to be prepared in the unlikely scenario that he miraculously survived. It's not wrong to think like that. It can also serve as additional motivation… I have to be prepared to either escape with my life intact or kill him by any means possible."

He learned his lesson not to blindly challenge someone stronger than him but with the help of IDLE Database, he's confident that he wouldn't be as helpless as last night. And before all that, he would continue progressing as an Energy Refiner.

Late Stage 1 Energy Refiner wasn't enough. The path was already laid down before him, what's keeping him to take off was the lack of IDLE Points.

The night passed quickly. Since he got delayed in renewing the points generator at exactly midnight, he took the time to nap and set up an alarm for it.

Fortunately, no problem arose in the camp during his unconscious state.

After opening his eyes again, only a few seconds left before both the Small Merchants and Hunters expired.

The points were already credited during midnight but he still had to wait for them to expire before he could renew them. That's kinda inconvenient but there's no going around it.

[Small Merchant's Income has been credited]

[You received 5078 IDLE Points]

[Hunter's Income has been credited]

[You received 26675 IDLE Points]

[IDLE Points: 37858/100000]

[Essence Storage: 1103/5500]

Aldrin calculated in his mind and decided to not convert for today. He's going to invest more in the Hunters to buy 25 of them. If not for his supposed duel with Carlos, he could've done it earlier but his foolishness prevailed so it got delayed.

From his calculation, if it's the same or close to the Small Merchant, he'd need 28,000 IDLE Points to buy 25 Hunters.

With the multiplier bonuses of 1.5 and 2 from 10 and 25 Hunters, the initial income of 1 IDLE Point per minute would be raised to 3. And there's the Monster Core that could give him 30 IDLE Points per piece.

In 24 hours, it could net him 108,000, not including the Monster Core chance. He could make an estimate for the additional income from Monster Core but the 5% chance was applied to every monster being hunted every minute. There's a chance that in 24 hours that 5% wouldn't trigger at all.

Moreover, starting 10 Hunters, a new line was added to it which was called, Failure Chance. It's also a 5% chance that a monster would neither drop Blood Essence nor Monster Core.

108,000 was a huge sum. He wouldn't pray for Monster Core anymore as long as the failure chance wouldn't trigger as well.

"But that's up to this mysterious program to calculate it. It's automated and all I have to do is wait for it to be credited to me. It's not like Idle Adventure that I can influence directly."

Aldrin stopped mulling over it and converted points to Federation Credits.

50 Small Merchants and 25 Hunters cost 176,250 and 2,800,000 credits respectively or in simpler terms, 29800 IDLE Points.

After seeing his points drain out once more, Aldrin checked the state of his two points generator.

[Hire a Small Merchant to buy extraordinary stones

Current Number of Small Merchants: 50

Cost: 9,700 Federation Credits

Duration: 24 hours

Production: 6 IDLE Points/hour

Failure Chance: 15%

Price Scale: Additional 1250 Credits/Merchant

Next Bonus: x1.5 Income at 75 Small Merchants]

[Hire a Hunter to kill Monsters for their Blood Essences or Cores

Current Number of Hunters: 25

Cost: 129,000 Federation Credits

Duration: 24 hours

Production: Blood Essence=1 IDLE Points, Monster Core=10 IDLE Points

Hunting Efficiency 1 Monster/minute

Drop Chance: Blood Essence 95%, Monster Core 5%

Price Scale: Additional 5000 Credits/Hunter

Next Bonus: Hunting Efficiency +1 at 50 Hunters]

The difference was like heaven and earth. The Small Merchants could only give him a small sum by now but still, it's income so he's not passing on it. Perhaps if he went further than 100 Small Merchants there's a surprise bonus but he couldn't afford that at the moment considering the hellish price scaling increments. It's better to use it on Hunters that could give him more points.

In a way, it's quite consistent with those Idle Tycoon games. The first purchases would be obsolete the further he unlocked the bigger generators. Once he unlocked the next tier, even Hunters wouldn't look as profitable as it is at the moment.

But for Aldrin, every IDLE Point counts so he's going to explore everything he could unearth with it, especially the three tabs that are still locked.

He's still at the starting point. He couldn't relax yet.

Before resigning back to his sleep, Aldrin also expanded his IDLE Points storage to 125,000 leaving him with a little more than 3,000 points left.

That's for the renewal of the multiplier, he couldn't neglect that or his Dimensional Clones would be slaughtered even if they have perfect cooperation.
