298 Rhizen’s Luck at Play
"Okay, that youth is taking action like I had expected." Compass Carburettor sighed in relief. His motives might have been spurred by selfish intentions, but they did save other people. This was how a morally sound merchant took action.
It was always a win-win for them. Otherwise, they won't do it. If it was only profitable for them but harmful for the consumers, then they were unscrupulous merchants.
Compass Carburettor wasn't that. And now that he sensed the youth's emotions through the Mental Energy stream he emitted whenever he thought about the mysterious spatial entity, Compass Carburettor was glad that the youth maintained a rather firm sense of justice.
He hadn't received justice for his family, but now, he wished to at least give the same to others. It may or may not go well for him, but it was better than wallowing in despair. At least, he now had a sense of purpose in life, something to do than to seethe with regret.
There were a dozen cylinders with ability of Fortress in his Dimensional Space. There were hundreds of cylinders with the ability of Vitality Bowls too. Compass Carburettor first planned to find individuals to entrust with the External Item of fortress and work in creating settlements that others could migrate into.
And all of these Fortresses were modified to look the same as the one next to Feora City. So, they would all turn into Mental Energy generation hubs for him.
After that, he planned to find discrete groups that were surviving somehow but were located in dangerous locations, surrounded by enemies on all sides. For such trapped groups, he planned to give them a Vitality Bowl each.
Of course, this was also modified to sport the symbol of Secret Society. With that, they would form smaller packets of Mental Energy generators.
All these External Items were prepared by Grisha. She was still making more of them, using the ants to the full advantage. All the materials were procured by the ants while she converted a large underground tunnel into her laboratory, producing External Items nonstop.
After that, they would communicate as Compass Carburettor would pick a safe time—when the Elf wasn't anywhere nearby—to arrive and collect the External Items.
Even though he was concerned that the Elf would kill Rhizen in the meantime, he had no other choice but to plan first. At present, he wasn't qualified to face the other party in battle. Moreover, he was confident in Rhizen.
The other party was a child of luck, a wielder of luck. Even in situations without any variables, things would still work in his favour in the end.
With that in mind, he continued to visit various places, finding individuals to entrust the External Item of Fortress with, also giving them a leather scroll each. While he was at it, he wished to make the lives of the people easier.
"What's the use of arriving now? Huh?" The youth let out maniacal laughter as he slowly teared up, clumping to the ground as he despaired, muttering weakly, "My family is already dead. What the heck am I supposed to do?"
In response to his weak shouts, the mysterious spatial entity was silent.
Upon seeing that he was able to move freely again, the youth stood up, gasping for air as he pointed a finger at the other party, "I don't need any help."
"Sure," The mysterious spatial entity replied in its ethereal voice, "I'll just consider this summon as bogus then."
Saying so, the mysterious spatial entity began to head towards the terrace. The youth stared at its back for a dozen seconds, suddenly shooting forth upon seeing the other party leave his line of sight.
He hurriedly reached the terrace, watching the entity condense a pair of jet-black wings that glittered with starlight and take off into the air. He immediately shouted, "Wait!"
The flapping of the wings slowed down as the mysterious spatial entity turned around and looked at the youth, causing him to shudder under the gaze for some reason.
"Why…I mean…what…" The youth hesitated before asking, "What are you? Did you really come here because of my prayers?"
"In the ancient times, I was revered by the name of Gahrat by a small mountainside village. When the village was annihilated, I disappeared from all human records." The mysterious spatial entity spoke.
"Where was this village?" The youth asked immediately.
"Around twenty kilometres from Feora city." The mysterious spatial entity replied.
"What…am I supposed to do now? Tell me!" The youth shouted after that, sporting an expression of fluster, indecisive, "My family is dead. I don't have any close friends either. I don't have anything to live for…"
"But, you still don't wish to die, right?" The mysterious spatial entity said, watching the youth nod in response while shedding tears.
"I'm just scum, wishing to live even after losing my family." The youth let out a self-deprecating laugh.
"Wishing to live is human instinct. There's nothing wrong with desiring that." The mysterious spatial entity said, suddenly raising its hand to summon a cylindrical object that seemed like it was made from pearls. It threw it at the youth, surprising him as he caught hold of it.
"What is this?" Wisping his tears, the youth looked at the palm-size cylinder, unable to determine what it was.
"If you are curious, apply your blood on it. You'll understand." The mysterious spatial entity spoke.
The youth didn't even hesitate as he bit his thumb and began to apply his blood on the cylinder, forming a coating on its surface. Immediately after that, it turned into a ray of light and swerved into his body, causing a surge of information to gush into his mind.
Clutching his head, the youth fell flat on the ground, grunting as he understood the information influx, slowly getting up as he was shocked, "Such a thing…was possible?"
Right at this time, the mysterious spatial entity dropped a leather scroll, "Find a purpose in life. Live until you find it."
"If you are facing difficulties, find other people to share your worries." Saying its piece, the mysterious spatial entity flapped its wings and sped through the air. And followed by a burst of wind, it vanished, forming a streak through the clouds.
