9 Chapter 009 - Laundry Business Proposal

The next morning, Emma woke up later than usual. She was very tired, yesterday was too much for her. She looks around and Jie- Jun is not next to her, but she remembers that he still has work to do today. She sat up on the bed and the blanket fall of her body. Seeing her own naked body, she remembers what she has done with her husband. She can't believe that not only did she did it with him, but also said such embarrassing words too. Maybe my body has become lewd, Emma thought to herself.

She quickly got dressed and went downstairs to the dining room. Once she got there, the servants served her food. They said that master had told them to prepared the food for her before he left home. She ate it very quickly and went back to her room. The mansion is quiet without both of her husbands around. She remembers that she still has to write out a proposal for the business plan. She quickly orders the servants to bring her papers and a pen.

The day flew by very quickly and it's already night time. Emma didn't even know that it's already so late since she has been writing all day and even drew some pictures. It was around 10 pm that she finishes writing her first proposal. She puts the pen down and got up to stretches. There's a man looking at her not too far away from the bed. She noticed the man when he got up to come over to her side. It was Jie-Jun, he's already back home from work.

"You finally finished with your writing," Jei-Jun said.

"Ah!... You scared me! When did you come home, and why didn't you call me?" Emma had a scared when she noticed a man inside her bedroom.

" I came home an hour ago, you were so into your writing that you didn't notice me. Seeing you so concentrated on doing something, I didn't want to bother you."

Emma suddenly remembers what she was doing. She immediately grabs the papers on her desk and hands it over to Jie-Jun.

Jie-Jun received the papers and starts reading it. At first, he faces doesn't have much expression. But as he continues to read on, he couldn't stop reading it. When he got to the picture drawing with detailed instruction, he is beyond excited! Did this really all this comes from his wife? His wife must be a genius!

"Wife, how can you come up with such ideas? Do you really think we can make such a unique design?" He's really excited right now, he didn't think he can make his laundry business even better like this.

The papers that Emma handed over to Jie-Jun is a proposal to expand his laundry business. Not only should they wash sheets for hotels and home service for laundry. They can also wash towels and fabrics for restaurant and any other kind of business that needs their services. To save time, money and workers. Emma draws a basic design of a manually operated washing machine.

One of Emma's part-time job was to work at a laundromat in the other world, so she knows lots of ins and outs of a laundry business. And due to her poor living conditions, she bought herself a manually operated washer to wash her own clothes. When the manual operated washer is broken, she opens it up and tries to fix it herself, so she knows how to make one. A manually operated washer is a very simple design and the usage is also very easy. Other than these things that are written and drawn on the papers, she also has directions on how to make soap and detergents, too! Not only can they offer the laundry service, but can sell their own soap and detergent products!

"If you followed the directions that I have on these papers, you shouldn't have any problem making the manual operated washer. As for the soap and detergent, it's really simple. The main ingredients for that are fat and lye. You can also add a different kind of scents in it to make it smells good." Emma sounds like an expert when it comes to making crafts. She used to make her own soap and detergents too in order to save money! She will sometimes sell those soaps that she made at the street market.

Jie-Jun just stood there thinking long and hard. He doesn't want just anyone to make this washer just in case the idea and design get leaks out. Suddenly, he thought of someone that can help him. That person is very good at making things and also inventing, but he has a very weird personality.

"Wife, I have someone in mind that can help us make this manual washing machine. He's very good at making things and also inventing. He has a very weird personality and lives very far away from here by himself. Can we invite him over to stay with us, so he can help us with making this washer?" Jie-Jun is worried about Emma not letting him invited that man to stay here since it's a stranger who also has a weird personality.

But he is overthinking it, Emma didn't mind it at all. Someone that Jie-Jun knows wouldn't be a bad person and she also knows that some people have will have weird personalities. People that are genius that invents things usually have the weirdest personality, since they usually don't think as normal people does. So Emma quickly agrees to him inviting someone to stay with them. The mansion is big so it's not a problem having an extra person living here at all.

"Thanks, Emma. I'll write him a letter to convince him to come here. He normally won't leave the house unless he needs to buy something. But with this design, I'm sure it will pique his interest and made him come out of his place."

"Wait, so who is this man that you have been talking about?" Emma is getting more interested in this man that has a weird personality.

When she was in the other world, she knows someone like that before. When she was still living with her relatives in a small apartment, they always hear noises from next door. The guy next door lives alone and never left his place, he orders everything that he needs for delivery. One time, the noises were loud, my relative sent me over to see what's going on. I have finally met this man that always make tons of noise.

It turns out that he was a scientist/inventor. I got to know him and soon, we have become friends. He taught me a lot, so I became very good at fixing machines too. But the people in the building complaints about the noise to many times, he was forced to move from the building. We still write letters sometimes, but it's just mainly on my side. I heard that he brought a house at another state in the quiet woods, which sounds just like him. People like that isn't that weird, they are just too into what they are doing to notice their surrounding.

"Wife, the man I'm talking about is Ding Yi-Hou."

"Wait! His surname is Ding, so he's your relative?"

"Yes, he is my older cousin. His mother is my mother's older sister. But his parents passed away when he's just an infant due to an accident. My parents took him in and raised him until he turns 16 years old. We were like brothers, but he is always quiet and doesn't like leaving his room. It got worse as he gets older and my parents don't know what to do with him anymore. When he turned 16 years old, he requested to move back to his real parent's house. We couldn't stop him and haven't seen him since. We only communicate through letters, so we know he's still doing okay."

"If he's your older cousin, how old is he? Doesn't he have to get married soon before the world government forces him to marry someone he doesn't know?"

"He's only a year older than me, so he has a couple more years before the deadline for him to get married before the world government steps in. The truth is, my parents also want to add him to the request along with Jie-Wai back then to marry you. But they worried Ding Yi-Hou will refuse since he has been refusing to get married for a long time now. And it's also very hard trying to find him a marriage partner, too."

"Why? The Ding family is very well off, so it shouldn't be hard to find him a wife."

"Even though he's also a Ding, but his parents are not here anymore. He parents did leave behind lots of wealth for him but he used most of it on his so-called inventions. He doesn't have a real job and no real income. He's living off the money that his parents left behind for him. That's not even the worse part. The worst part is that he doesn't like meeting with people that he doesn't know and ….you will understand what I mean when you meet him." Jie-Jun is rubbing his forehead with a headache. He doesn't know if it's a good idea now to bring in such a person into their home.

"Um...it's okay. We can work something out. Maybe it will be a good thing to have him here. We can give him a real job that he likes doing. I actually have a few more ideas that he might be able to help me make into a reality." Emma doesn't care if he's weird or what. She knows the best way to communicate with this kind of people is to have the same interest as them. There are a few things that she wanted to make that's from the other world. He will be a good help for that.

And the luckiest of all is NOT that he can make things for her, but her mother didn't know his existence! If her mother knew of his existence and what her in-laws have thought of before. Her mother will definitely agree to it and tries to convince her to marry him too! Luckily her in-laws changed their mind and didn't add him to the request. But then again, people with that kind of weird personality would most likely refuse to marry her anyway.

They talked about the proposal and the washer design until very late at night. Emma was tired, so she falls asleep while her husband is too excited to sleep. He immediately starts writing the letter to Ding Yi-Hou and includes a description of the manual washer in the letter. He knew that even if he convinced his cousin to come, it will take a few weeks for him to get here since he lived very far away in another country.

He needs to work on other things such as hiring people to make different kinds of soap and detergents. And also starts to try to get more contract deals from other businesses, etc. If this works out, then they will really need the manual washer. Otherwise, they can't handle so much work without hiring lots of extra people to work. But if the manual washer works out then he can accept more business contracts and doesn't have to hire too many people. They are going to make lots of money from this if everything works out.

When he first started the laundry business, he simply thinks that it can be a convenience for businesses and people, while he makes money at the same time. He never treats it as the main business, since it doesn't make as much money as his other businesses. And other people have started copying this kind business lately. But with Emma's plan and design, even if they try to copy it, it's not going to be the same. They can do way better than them and with the added soap and detergent for sale, this can be their main business! Little did he know, that's just Emma's first step toward her wealth kingdom. She still has a lot of plans that will bring him endlessly surprises in the future. Years later, he will look back and think what kind of treasure did he married and how lucky is he.

Due to her new proposal, the two brothers are never home. They are busy working hard and Emma felt lonely all by herself. The brothers haven't spent much time with her and it's already been 2 weeks. She knows she shouldn't be complaining since that's her proposal and they are just carrying it out for her. But she couldn't stop thinking about them, she misses their presence.
