2 Chapter 002 - Choosing Husband s
Emma chatted with her mother and three father for a little bit in the dining room while having breakfast. They talked about what had happened that day and how serious her injuries were. She hasn't woken up for a whole week since the accident and everyone in the family have been very worried. After breakfast, Emma went back to her room.
As soon as she got back to her room, she took out the diary that the other Emma had kept and quickly flip through the pages. After finish reading the whole diary, she finally knows why the previous Emma want to learn how to ride a horse. It was all because of a man that she had wanted to impress, that was very stupid of her.
Emma had never dated anyone before back when she was in the other world. All she knows is work hard and earn money, she never understands the heart of a maiden because she thinks love is only for those people that can afford it.
"Emma, sweety are you in here?" Sofia suddenly burst into Emma's room. She looks very excited.
"Mother, please knock first before you enter." Emma looked at this mother of her, she's not used to someone being so close to her. Her parents have passed away when she was very young and she was in the care of her relatives. They didn't weren't too close to each other.

" I know. You even said it yourself that you are of age, so it's time to start looking. You only have less than a year to find yourself a husband before we get a fine!"
Suddenly, some more memories appear in Emma's head. So it turns out that once a girl turns sixteen years old, she is an adult and needs to start picking her husband(s). They will have one year from their sixteenth birthday to marry her first husband otherwise the family of the girl will get a hefty fine.
After paying for the fine, she'll have another year to pick a husband. If by the age of 18 years old, and she still didn't pick one yet, then the world government will pick one for her. It's usually not very good choices. It's usually those men that are over 25 years old and still didn't get married yet or men that are not clean (meaning they aren't a virgin or was divorced before, etc).
After marrying her first husband, the girl will have until the age of 20 to marry at least two more husbands before she gets a fine and the world government sends her more husbands.
This kind of situation is rare because girls of good family background would avoid it by finding herself, good husbands. But some of the lower class citizens are they lucky because some of them might not be well off enough to choose a good husband to marry and can't pay fine. They'll have to take whoever the world government sends them. If they are lucky, they will get a good clean man that is just slightly older. If they are unlucky, then they will get those unclean men with a not good background.
"Mother, I understand. But can I see the person first before you and fathers decide who I'm going to be marrying?" Emma gave up on her struggle for now since she has been transmigrated to this world, she will have to follow is rule and laws.

This is really like a dream to her, she never thought that one day she was be attending these upper class's people's parties. She can't get used to it and she would never through such an extravagant party to waste her hard earned money!
