41 Chapter 41: Tricky Weasel

Making myself comfortable I take over a stool setup by a desk. The interior of this building is just as worn down as the outside. In the corner there is a huge pile of assorted shattered crates, most of the windows are vacant, and there is even dust everywhere. My mood is getting increasingly low as I survey the shop.

'Well, that little one is probably just doin the best she can. Maybe I can even help'. I think to myself, but I can't quite manage to just patiently wait.

Several fidgety minutes later, and the hooded figure has returned. Her panting and wheezing were clearly heard as she struggles to drag a massive cage into the room. Well, massive compared to her at least. I stand up quickly and take the cage myself, not sparing a second glance at the shop keeper. I eagerly take the cage over to the desk I was sitting near and examine some of the animals.

Inside the cage are a large assortment of fairly bad tempered animals. I focus on them, "Hello little ones, are you doing okay in there?" I ask. I can't help but be worried that they aren't eating enough given the conditions of the shop.

One particularly brave looking weasel stares at me. Ever since I had spoken the animals had all stopped moving and focused on me, but only that little weasel looked at me with eyes that seemed intelligent. Both bright and clear, the little weasel has incredibly captivating green eyes. "Why can you talk to us boss?"

The little weasel seems very confused. "Don't worry 'bout that buddy. Just listen to me for a sec okay? I'm in need of two strong brave warriors to help me. You wouldn't happen to be a wind weasel would you young one?"

As I talk to the weasel I had been steadily getting slightly closer to the cage. I didn't want to startle them with my scent all at once, so I decided the gradual approach was best. The weasel looks at me, and nods. "Yeah, I am a wind weasel boss! I..I'm not very strong though..." The little furry weasel looks down forlorn. "Ya see boss, I was the runt of the litter. Even Mama didn't wanna feed me. "

I nearly shed a tear from the amount of heartache in his tiny voice. The desolation of his little heart is too much for me to take. I deftly unlock the cage, and grab my new friend out. "Don't you worry little brother. If your mama won't take care of you I will. Just give me a little bit of your wind magic okay?"

The weasel looks at me in confusion. Then it finally looks down defeated, "Sorry boss. I can only give my power to those old druids. I'm way to young to 'member how to do one to a normal human, heck I'm pretty sure it ain't even possible."

I smile at his furry head and stroke him softly, "Don't worry little brother. You're big brother here, is also," I lean into his head and whisper to him quietly, "The worlds only druid".

The weasel squeaks in surprise and scampers up my shirt to sit on my head. From the pitter patter of paws tapping on my head I could swear he was dancing, and I can't help myself but laugh at him.

"Hey I'm takin' him okay?" I say with a smile to the blushing girl behind me. She looks at me confused and uncomfortable before blurting out, "Why were you squeaking!" Her entire face looks flushed, and I'm having a hard time holding back another round of the giggles. I attempt to make my face look as serious as I can. "Well I had to talk to him. How else would I know the depth of his resolve?" The girl looks at me in a daze before just nodding.

"Yeah...okay...I guess..."

I only smile at her, turning my attention back to the cage I can't see any water creatures that seem as impassioned as my new friend. "Hey little brother, I also need a water helper any suggestions?"

My wind weasel quickly scampers down my body to peer into the cage. He examines all of them, and turns back to me. "None of them boss, but I know big sis the water pixie is here. I'd recommend her!" He looks back at me proudly, little chest puffed out like he was a brave warrior.

'Well, if this water pixie is half as fun as he is, then I can't say no.'

"Hey you," I say turning to the shopkeeper, "He says you got a water pixie, I bring her out." The shopkeeper jumps up with a yelp.

"Um..You see...The thing with the pixie is.." She trails off and looks down, "I kinda lost her to the mob boss. I kinda still owe em a lot..."

I shrug my shoulders and pick up my wind weasel. "No problem, do you know where his base is?"

She looks at me confused, "are you seriously planning on getting her back for me?!" I could swear her eyes even have little hearts in them.

I have to cough and look down at the floor embarrassed. "Um..Yeah! Yeah, that!"

'I'm probably just gonna kill all of em and take her though.'

She kneels down in front of me, pressing her head to the floor. "Please, save me!"

My eyes go wide. I'm stunned she just caved in like that. My heart starts to ache, the burden of this little cutie getting screwed over by me is just to much to bear. "Look, I'm probably just gonna go kill the gang members, and take the pixie for myself. Would that be square?"

Her eyes are shining like polished mirrors into the void, "Yes, yes that is more than enough! But ah...If you could." She seems to hesitate before deciding slowly, "My mommy left me a small onyx broach as well, I had to give it to them as a down payment on a loan. Would you find it possible to...ya know.."

I sigh deeply and nod once. "Fine fine, I guess."

'This is so annoying fine.' "Better be god damn naked and waiting when I'm done though"

My heart drops like a stone.

That was meant to be an inside thought....I close my eyes and brace for an impact of pain. A punch, kick, something.

"Okay, if that's really what you want..." I open my eyes shocked. Oh..OH..OOOHHHH

I cough softly and attempt to look cool and confidant. "Yeah, okay. So it's a deal then. " I shake her hand firmly. I need to make my contract with my little wind weasel before I do anything else though.

"Get the info on where those morons live, I gotta prepare a few things."

The girl bows to me briefly and raises her head to look at me. Her eyes are adoring, so I can't help but lean down to get give her a soft peck on the lips.

She smiles at me someone dazedly, "Oh yeah, what are you any way?" I ask chuckling a bit, "I mean I was thinking a cow or something, but the black eyes are kinda rare."

She shakes her head, "Oh no. I'm not an animal at all actually. I'm an Incubus. We're a type of demon, a little lesser known on this plane."

I nod my head softly. Yeah an Incubus..makes....

WAIT!

I search my mind for everything about that particular race that I knew from earth. The only thing that pops into my head is that they are just like a Succubus.

Except they are male...

I smile and look at her...him again. "Ah, I thought um...I thought an Incubus only went after...you know..women?"

I say trying to break the tension he laughs lightly and leans against me. I try to keep him a bit further away, but the crafty little thing just remains glued to me. "Yeah, you hear that a lot. Actually we go after men too. I mean think about it, no matter how attractive a guy is most women won't just jump into bed. Men are much easier to manipulate."

He colors up slightly and waves his hands in front of his face, "Not that I'm doing that to you of course you are..." He trails off again, those little hearts forming in his eyes "You are something far more spectacular."

'I have a feeling this guy might be....trouble....'
