25 Chapter 25: Abducted

**********ARITH POV******

I had been listening to the rules from big sis Maya for a while now, and to be honest I was kinda tuning out. I know she's the first wife, but this just seems excessive! Hmph, well after a few months of Masters wonderful training I'm sure I'll be able to stand toe to toe with Maya. She just found him first, that's all.

There in the corner I can see one of those pretty fines that master had used to support my own growing forest. It was growing fast, and it even wandered its way over to me. I kept it in the corner of my eye as I continued 'listening' to Maya. It was just so cute inching its way closer to me! From my imperfect understanding of druid magic so far, it must be Masamune trying to communicate with me.

*snap* I focus more on Maya. Judging from the harsh breathing and red face, I think she was probably yelling at me for not listening. "Sorry Maya, it's just that....OUCH" I screech loudly as the vines sharp thorns sink into my thigh while I look away from it.

'Why would Masamune punish me! I was a good girl this time!'

I look at Maya and for some reason her face has gone completely pale, she's even shaking!

"Wh..What's wrong Maya?" I ask my voice quivering a bit. I gently force the thorn out of my thigh with a grimace as my blood flows freely from the deep wound.

"It's Masamune! He must be worried about us just let me..." Maya trails off as she looks worriedly off to the side. "Esme! Here Esme!"

'Huh, does Masamune already have a second wife? That stinks!'

I see two sets of tiny kitten paws enter from the open window. A suncat is just sitting there!

'Aww it looks so cute!'

Oddly the kitten looks at Maya and trots proudly over to her and sits in her lap as the two seem to whisper at each other. This is quite annoying! I mean I'm right here too! You could talk to me too!

"What's going on with Masamune?" I finally ask to break the tension and the to ease the rising sea of fear in my heart.

Maya jumps to hear feet quickly and throws my discarded clothing at me.

"Quick get dressed and wake up your dad. Someone kidnapped Masamune!"

My heart drops like a stone in my chest. "How could this even happen?" I whisper to myself as I hurry to cover my form. Once suitably dressed I dash from the room my loud footsteps echo across the halls stirring a few of the resting maids. They come out to try and ascertain my situation, but I don't even slow down for them. Only master matters right now!

I pound on my fathers door and I hear a small crash from inside. "Daddy! Trouble!" I yell at him and the movements inside turn frantic. A panicked panting face greets me as one of the maids quickly leaves the room and daddy asks me to come in.

Once inside I try and ignore the very pungent odors of sex in the air. "Daddy someone, kidnapped Masamune!"

Much to my suprise daddy doesn't get scared. Instead I can see his body deflate against the chair. "How do you know that?" He asks me quietly as he pours himself a drink of some amber colored liquid.

'Wait this seems strange....no!'

"Daddy why?!" I bellow as tears threaten to fall from my eyes. "How could you?! He was helping us restore the magic circle in our garden! He was, even teaching me the lost arts what could..."

My father raises his hand and I stop talking almost immediately. A few hundred years of conditioning all added up to instantly stopping my tongue no matter how badly I wanted to yell at him.

He coughs softly and begins pulling papers from his desk. Handing one to me I look at the contents. My hands shake and I nearly drop everything from my grasp. I pull it together, but the fire burning in my heart is like that of hell, eternal and all consuming.

"So let me get this straight! You sold my Masamune to the humans for some damn money! You know what they did to us! How could you?" Every exclamation I see my fathers face lose more color. His head bows slightly, but when he raises his head, his eyes are cold. Colder than I had ever seen them.

"The humans have the old books on magic honey. Don't worry just because I got rid of an ant doesn't mean anything is going to happen. Now that I finally got him into their trap everything should be fine for us. We just need a suitable lie for that stupid snake cunt of his. She could be a thorn in the side."

He closes his eyes in silent rumination as I stand there devastated. My heartbeat pains me with every pulse. It's like I committed the betrayal myself. After all, I'm pretty sure I was the bait!

I walk daintily out of the room, and begin hunting for Maya almost instantly. I'm not sure what to even tell her when I see her, but I know that I can't just let things stay this way. No matter how good of a daughter I am, I could never treat my own teacher like this! It may have only been one lesson, but I had already seen the depth of his caring, the depth of his love to the Earth. Only we elves ever looked at the earth that way, so there was no way I could let him be harmed.

I finally found Maya at the front gates talking to the guards. It looks like Franky has been drinking again. He's stumbling around, and then he lungs at Maya!

Just like that I see Mayas hand flick in the light, and Franky falls the ground his neck completely broken, with a sinister looking dagger in his hand.

"My god!" I say quietly to myself and Mayas sharp purple eyes scrutinize me. My panicky heart rate sky rockets as I stare into those pits of hell and pain.

She only spits out a single sentence without ever dropping her guard. "Did you know?"

I can only numbly shake my head. I never saw someone die before, and this was Franky! I had known him my whole life, and now just like that...he was gone...

Maya is suddenly right in front of me, and I jump up in fright, but the attack I expect never comes. Instead, in my hand she places a tiny sun kitten. The little kitten looks at me curiously, and then a sudden voice invades my head.

"Okay chesty, we gotta get a move on. I know where Masa is, so just follow my lead kid!"

With all that's happened even this doesn't shock me overly much. I know where my conviction is, and this level of betrayal is NEVER something I could ever condone!

"Let's go save husband little kitten!"
