20 Chapter 20: Beginner Druid
Focusing on the sights from the my new Orchid Watcher I focus on how Arith moves about the manor. She definitely appears to be rushing, but she still shouldn't have the level of speed necessary for me to be completely unable to find her. At first I was convinced that Ravvin was going to say that it was his daughter following me, which is why I took the opportunity to get closer to her. Sadly life appears to be quite different, no notification popped up telling me that I had figured out who was following me. Just by looking at Arith and her power level it should be impossible for it to be her, but for some reason I am simply convinced.
"It has to be." I mumble quietly to myself. Walking over to Ravvin I clap my hand on his shoulder and give him a winning smile. "I'm going to get started teaching." I say simply making my way toward the door. While Ravvin is certainly stunned after a few seconds he blinks and grins at me. "Yes, of course Masamune. Thank you!" His attitude couldn't be more honest when he thanks me.
Now I simply couldn't stop thinking on my way to the garden. I mean clearly, there is some shady shit going on here, but everyone just seemed so...normal? I guess real life is more complex than fantasy stories some times.
I take a deep breath as I exit the manor the lingering scent of morning dew and and freshly awakened flowers is there to welcome me. I smile slightly and proceed into the gardens fully, making sure to close the door behind me firmly. I can see that Arith, wasn't able to contain her baser instincts, and is currently crouched behind a small bush to be try and hide. *Sigh* yeah, this was almost certainly not my stalker. Not with those skills at least. Leaving her be for now I take out a small piece of paper from my pockets. This is a special paper that Maya gave me a while ago, it was oddly very similar to texting from my previous life. You simply wrote whatever you needed to convey and a few hours later it would appear on the corresponding paper. Maya had the other half of this one. I quickly scrawl on the note, "Lots of work here, I may even end up teaching the lords kid some magic. Thankfully all these elf girls are really nice to me, one even offered to guard my door!" I smile mischievously as I finish the sentence. It wouldn't be long before my darling Maya was here. The poor girl had a bit of jealousy in her, and I just think that it is cutest thing in the world to get her all riled up. Aside from missing her, I truly was going to need her here. I know when a problem is much bigger than me, and I have zero issues hiding behind my womans skirt as she fights for me! Certainly, I would like to handle my own problems, but what the hell is the point of a spouse that isn't able to support you? Currently, she was stronger.
Folding up my piece of paper, "Hey Arith get out here!" I call loudly into the morning. Watching the bush she's hiding behind I see her quickly jump up and stand at attention. My mouth twitches slightly. My god she's like a little rabbit! I have a small soft spot for cute things... "Alright, now do you know what the Druids do?" I asked her and she nodded her head and answered very seriously, "Yes, they do magic!" I waited for a few seconds, but...Yeah that's it. "And?" I prompt her getting a slight pressure behind the eyes. Oh, this child is going to drive me to drinking! All I can see on her face is a blank look. Excellent. "Well, what a druid does is protect the forests." I answer patiently and she even pulls out a quill and some paper to write it down. I massage my temples softly and continue explaining about the rules and responsibilities of a druid. I mean there's only like 3 main points to keep in mind, so it shouldn't be that complex...
She seems a little thrown off by the rules she would need to follow, "But, I thought this was magic!" She replies somewhat indignantly. I slow down my breathing a bit to calm down. "Just watch." I command and pulse my aura through the primed earth. Although my grove is not sanctified yet, I do have enough control, and power to be able to stir the plants and make them grow more beautifully. Throughout the entire garden plants grew higher, and stronger than they would ever be able to normally. The already pervasive scent of flowers is now on a completely different level! As compared to before it was like smelling all of these plants for the first time. There was one bit of a holdout though.
The vermilion grass that acts as a battery for the abundant mana here, it remained completely the same. I frowned slightly, walking over to it my Knowledge:NATURE kicks in. This vermilion grass, is simply nowhere near full of mana. Due to its unique ability to store mana the way it does, the capacity would have to be completely overfilled several times for it to blossom like the others. Ariths eyes grew wide as the the garden burst into life around her. The heady scent of flowers is nearly overpowering and it looks like her heart my explode with how fast it's beating!
"This is but a small taste of what druids do, if you like plants then all the rules are basically useless. Just don't be a dick to plants, and you're good." I smile and say that she nods her head firmly, "But master, how can I do...all this? How did you even do all this?!" Well that's a pretty normal question, I nod to myself silently and begin walking over to the circle that I marked with sticks the night before. "Go ahead and sit there," She nods and quickly sits in the circle awaiting orders. "Good girl!" I praise her, and SOMEHOW she seems elated. That was really meant to be sarcastic but..."Now then I want you to close your eyes, and simply smell the flowers.
She visibly relaxes and begins breathing deeply of the scent. A small smile seems to form on her lips as the wondrous odors of plants living filled her lungs. A strong gust of wind comes suddenly pushing her long hair away from her face, and the combination of the strong sunlight bouncing on her silky soft hair, and the cute small on her lips is absolutely stunning! I can even sense that my 'little brother' appreciates it as much as I do!
