10 Chapter 10: The Curse
Reviewing my system notification was quickly ended as I took Maya by the hand and walked back over toward my new in-laws. "So are there any more tests you two had up your sleeves?" I ask simply pulling Maya a bit closer to assert my previous victory.
Mayas mother has a wide smile on her face, and even a faint blush. She shakes her head and looks towards her husband who appears happy as a clam. I smile back at them and clear my throat, "I'm um..Sorry about the garden. I didn't think my practice would change the look of it like this..." I trail off a bit embarrassed. I should know better than to mess with someones house.
Mayas father shakes his head with a rueful grin on his face. "You know Masamune, I don't think we ever introduced ourselves." He grins changing the subject quite nicely. "I am the Lord of Watercrest here, Sir Reginald Cornwallace." He turns gracefully to his wife almost showing her off. "And this is my darling wife the Lady Terra." He grins widely and I can't help but be won over. The man has a powerful control of his words.
Reginald finishes his introductions with all of his titles, jeez there was a lot, and those of his wife, who somehow has even more, before gesturing for Maya and I to come into the manor. Following shortly behind him, Maya and I hold each other closely while walking in. She seems to be quite enamored with my possessive attitude of her. In fact it kind of seems like the whole family is like that...I wonder if....Could they just be like That?!
I clear my throat to try and get my mind out of a very dark, yet fun, gutter. "So Reginlad, I'm not from here. Are there any more steps to this whole marriage process?" I can see him nodding his head in front of me, but he doesn't say much. Instead Maya takes over, her face blushing slightly still. "Yeah, you just gotta do one more super easy thing!" She says that with a lot of forced happiness. "Well alright then, so what is it?" I ask simply, but Maya is now deaf to my question and her parents don't even try to respond for her.
I sigh softly as we reach a room both Reginald and Terra stop and begin unlocking it. WOW that thing has like 25 locks! "What the hell is in there." I ask into the silence. I stare Terra, and Reginald demanding an answer as the door creaks open. I look into the room, but it appears completely vacant. Behind me I can hear Maya clearing her throat. "Well, we just gotta show you something about...me. It'll only take a second, but the locks are for your...safety?"
Well that doesn't help my anxiety now does it?! "Is it about you being a snake person?" I ask bluntly. Maya seems to recoil as if slapped when I say 'snake person' but she only nods weakly when I'm done. "When we get a mate from outside the family, we have to show our fully cursed forms before the marriage can be completed. A few centuries ago there was a prince who was in love with a Snake Person. She was one of our head priestesses, and she even consented to the marriage, but when the prince saw her unleashed form for the first time he though she was a monster. Even when it was cleared up I heard that she only lived a half life. Her marriage offered no succor or warmth, so really it's better for both of us. Just in case you can handle me."
"Wa ha ha ha ha" Oh, merciful Buddha I can't breathe! I continue my raucus laughter for another few minutes before it winds down. I look at Maya and she couldn't be more confused, and her parents seem very confused. I raise my hand to stall any questions until my breath is under control. "Sorry you guys, but I was worried there was an actual problem. Phew, I though maybe you'd try to kill me or imprison me, but this was all!" I laugh a bit more before proudly stepping over the threshold.
"Maya my wife, would you prefer I carry you across here?" I ask simply. The faces around me are stunned. To them I appear as a freak, someone completely different to what they knew and believed to be the core rules of the world. Most would never treat a Snake Person with outright disdain, but to let your child marry one? That was a very different sort of issue. From the brain washing of the Church the Lamia were evil, and vile. Clearly they consorted with demons, how else could you explain the snake eyes?
I knew different though. The truly evil on my world never looked it. That is because evil does not have a single skin, or method. Evil is insidious, it will grow and change. How could some one so sweet, and who had such loving parents be truly evil?
Since my darling Maya was still shell shocked I make the decision for her, reaching towards her hands I pull her into my arms and rub the small of her back in a soothing way as I close the door behind us.
As soon as I close the door I'm able to hear the many locks flick closed. Is there no trust in the world. I turn back to Maya and I am met with and awe inspiring sight. Maya blushing and apprehensive, is staring at me with her garments scattered on the floor.
I try to supress the wave of lust that over comes me, but I find it difficult to focus my gaze on any one place. I merely drink of the sight of her long purple hair carefully concealing her modest chest behind its flowing locks. Her pert breasts are barely visible from their purple veil and show delicious ivory white skin. I look lower past her shapely hips and stomach to land on her special garden. I'm stunned speechless. It looks perfect and delicious with lips slightly reddened.
I shake my head and force myself to make eye contact once more. Her slight blush has grown to cover her whole face, I guess I wasn't very discreet when I was checking her out, oops. "So then show me darling. Show me what you fear so badly." I say and walk over to sit on a sofa that was nestled into a corner of a room. She seems to be a bit scared so while she works up her courage I decide to burn my free weapon choice.
Back on Earth my facorite game was Monster Hunter, and if I'm going to be fighting giant awesome things then I think that the Insect Glaive would be perfect for me. It doesn't hurt that the weapon looked cool as hell too!

Ouch fine system, you don't need to be that mean about it. I look over to Maya whose courage seems to have finally gotten to where it needs to be.
"Come here honey, show your husband." I say soothingly, Maya nods slightly before a bright orange glow surrounds her body. I can see her changing, her once long shapely legs are quickly replaced by a long menacing snakes tail. Her hair seems to have grown longer, and oddly, it looks like she's wearing more makeup? I'm gonna have to ask her about that.
I sit there for a while longer simply waiting. Shes so scared her hands have formed tiny fists that seem to be shaking. "Well are you going to show me whatever it is?" Maya seems to be stunned by the question. "No, this is...This is the thing! Look at me don't I scare you?!" She screams into my face, "Maya you look beautiful, just like always." I say with a winning smile. It seems her teeth grew a bit as well. Her two front canine teeth poke out of her mouth with a menacing glimmer against them.
She recoils in shock at my compliment and rounds on me again showing me her tail. "You must have not seen it earlier, but look I'm not...human..." I pull her into my arms holding her against my chest.
"That doesn't matter. I like you, you like me. That's all that matters." I say simply before kissing her deeply. I move my hands down to rest on the small of her back as I kiss her again and again, repeating how beautiful she looks.
Her breathing has grown heavy by this point and she looks at me with obvious yearning. This yearning I keenly feel as well, and I would be more than happy to help her with it.
"So there isn't some like Chastity thing any more right?" I ask placing my hand on her stomach stroking it softly. I can feel her shake her head as it rests against the nape of my neck. "Then I guess its a good thing this room locks isn't it?" I laugh happily before kissing her softly.
