4 Chapter 04: Naming Ceremony
My head is spinning with the recent news, but I am able to keep it together long enough to finish my handshake with my new 'fiance'. I breathe out softly, "So what should we do now? I'm pretty lost here, where is home?" Looking at the fierce nearly malicious smile that has formed on her lips I don't think the answer is really going to make me happy. "We are just heading there now, you will be able to heal much better with me be your side." Maya says with confidence.
I nod my head in mock understanding, as I slowly begin walking towards the exit of our small room. Finally with some time to ruminate over my situation I decide to try getting some information out of my new companions. "Maya, if I may ask, what are you?" I ask with unabashed curiousity. "You're pretty clearly not a human, but I'm not sure what I am either hm..." I trail off thinking over my status again.
Name: Nameless
Race: Changeling
Level 1
What the heck even is a changeling? I couldn't seem to recall it from any of the mythology of my planet of Earth.
"What do you mean I'm not human." Maya responds in an icey tone. Perhaps I should just close my fat mouth, but I mean...It's not like I can just remain ignorant. Let's push forward. "Well your eyes, though beautiful the iris is kinda...off." I say simply looking at her eyes in the all of their snakelike glory. My words cause a bit of a blush, however the icy tension in the room has not been eased in the slightest. "Let's wait until we get back home, before we answer that..Darling." She says in a sheepish tone. It seems that now that I can see her eyes she became even more sensitive to light compliments.
I guess I should look at my rewards while we walk then. There's no telling when that dwarf might decide to try caving my skull in again.

x10 Gacha Coupons
Hm...well I guess that can be counted as I start. I decide to try 'opening' Buddhas gift.
I can feel a slight pressure behind my eyes before time seems to freeze around me. In front of me I can see a simple wooden treasure chest. Curious that my companions appear to be locked out of this time I open it and my eyes can barely register what they see.

WOW! Now that is some seriously kick ass loot! Time flows around me once more and I can feel Maya leading the way up the road. I barely pay attention as we walk. Now is a chance that I can not pass up. I may know much about the more niche myths, but I KNOW what a druid is. The power of shapeshifting into a primal form stirs something in my heart and I can't wait to try it.
"Equip Job Druid"
"Equip Phoenix Armor"
I call out into my mind and I can feel something slip. I, however, ignore this feeling. That may or may not have to due with the millions of rabid bees that seem to have found their way inside my head. For brief time the agonizing sound of my brain being pierced and shocked is all that I can register.
After what felt like hours it begins to ebb. Panting softly I look around me only to see the large purple eyes of Maya mere inches from my own. "Ah! Maya sorry what's wrong" I ask seriously.
"What is wrong?! You have the nerve to ask me that! Now?! You've been standing there with blood gushing out of your nose for the last ten minutes, who wouldn't be worried!" She exclaims with true rage behind those beautiful purple eyes.
"Oh, um sorry honey. I think that punch to the head did more damage than I thought ha ha ha.." I laugh softly but my eyes have been drawn to my arm. It's covered in the softest downy feathers I have ever seen. They seem to shine with a soft golden-orange light. This must be my armor. I look down to see that my Kilt was the causing of the slipping sensation, and much to my relief I can see that my armor extends down my stomach and legs to protect my entire body. This ought to be much better than my former shirtless attire.
I'm surprised that Maya hasn't commented on my sudden wardrobe malfunction, but I'm going to take the breaks I can when they are presented to me. Moving I start walking forward while pulling Maya by the hand. "Let's hurry home honey, I think I need a nap." The sharp rise of red to her cheeks makes me sure that I can let her lead again. Curiously enough she hasn't actually attempted to reclaim her soft tiny hand from my own.
I smile softly at her blushing face before turning my thoughts inward once more. I am certainly going to need a name for this new chance at life. "Hey Maya, whats my name?" I ask hoping for at least a hint for the normal naming conventions around this place.
She laughs softly, like the tinkling of a silver bell before answering, "Your name is.." She trails off looking a bit awkward.
Ah I see I don't think she expected her lie to last this long, or that I would go along with it. Seeing her cute flustered expression I decide that perhaps a bit of kindness has be earned. She may not be telling me the whole truth, but I don't think she wants to hurt me...at least not directly. I certainly don't want to go by my original name here so..."Wait Maya I remember now! My name is Masamune." I exclaim quite proud of the name I thought (stole) of.
That proud declaration causes a smile to grow on my face. Names are important, being without one, it's like a project that 90% done. I feel a sense of completeness settle on me as I begin my new life, in a place of swords and, hopefully, dragons.
