Chapter 6: Confessions

Damien’s POV

These alpha works are getting into my nerves. Rogues are increasing in numbers every single day, and all larger packs are also getting stressed. Now they all want to sign treaties. I was thinking about the new safety plan. I have to keep my pack house safe. My mate is living here.

‘Our mate!’ my wolf snapped.

‘Yeah, whatever!’ I replied.

Suddenly someone knocked on the door. I know who it was. I can smell chocolate.

“Come in”, I said. And there she was, wearing tanned jeans and a loose t-shirt. Her long hair was tied in a ponytail. She always looks so adorable. It is getting harder for me to control myself. She was looking at my muscles and then at my lips. I chuckled. My wolf was so happy that our mate was looking at us with such admiration.

“Are you done checking me out?” I asked her, and she turned red immediately. “You don’t have to be embarrassed, kitten. After all, I am your husband.” I said again to tease her. I asked her if she needed anything. She wanted to train! She wanted to train with other warriors. My wolf became restless.

‘Our mate! She is ours’, he yelled in my head.

I don’t want any other male wolf around her. I don’t want anyone to see my mate. She is Mine and MINE alone. I yelled at her. She looked sad. I cannot bear to look at her sad face anymore. I asked her to leave the room.

My concentration broke. Why on earth did she want to train? Did she feel unsafe here? I always keep an eye on her. She does not talk to anyone else except Alex and that cook girl. Is she afraid of me? I was in deep thought. I didn’t realise when Cersei came into the room. She just walked towards me and sat on my lap. She started to seduce me with her movement. My wolf hates this bitch. But she is damn good in bed. She knows exactly how to please a man. She kissed me. She deepened the kiss, rubbing her hips on my manhood. In the heat of the moment, I kissed her back, and I smelled chocolate.

‘Our mate. She is in pain, you idiot!’ my wolf snapped at me. I saw her. She was holding her stomach with one hand and the door with another. She looked in pain. It was because of me. I kissed another female after finding her. It was the pain of betrayal. When a werewolf finds his/her mate, they both are bound to be loyal. Betrayal of one’s causes pain to the other person. What have I done? I saw tears rolling down on her cheek. She was barely standing with the support of the door. I wanted to run towards her. I tried to hold her tight. I wanted to console her.

“Please pardon me, alpha, for my intrusion.” She said in a shaky tone. Her voice broke my heart. She runs out of my office. Cersei, that slut wanted to continue what she was doing. This all was because of her. My mate was hurt because of this bitch. I couldn’t bear her touch anymore. I threw her out of the room and mind-linked Alex to come to my office.

Alex came into my office in a few minutes.

“Alex, find Lotus and ask her to come to my office immediately,” I commanded him. He frowned his eyebrows and said, “Is everything alright?”

“Do as I say. Leave now.” I used my alpha voice this time. He was bound to do what I said. None can deny the words spoken by an alpha using an alpha voice.

After a few minutes, Alex mind-linked me; he cannot find Lotus. I walked around the packhouse myself. I couldn’t sense her presence. I asked Alex again to meet me at my office. My wolf became restless.

‘Our mate ran away from us because of you.’ he accused me, ‘She will never love us’.

‘She will be back. She is bound to be with us. I will bring her back,’ I snapped to my wolf. Alex entered the office with a worried face.

“Damien, what’s going on? Simar told me she saw her running towards the woods.”, Alex said in a very anxious tone.

I was frozen by his words. Did she run away? But my territory is extensive. She cannot cross it that quick.

“Alex asked our best trackers to locate her,” I said to him hurriedly.

“But Damien, she never shifted in this territory. We don’t even know her smell. She is not even a part of this pack. Oh My God! She will be treated as a rogue!” Alex replied.

“Chocolate. She smells like chocolate. Milk chocolate and a little hint of caramel. Where the hell is Ben?” I yelled at him, “why are you still standing?” I hit the table in front of me, and it got broken. I mind-linked all my warriors to find her.

With every passing minute, I became more desperate. Did I really lose her? A shiver went down my spine. I was f*cking scared for the very first time in my entire life. I cannot lose her. I came out of my office and walked towards the drawing-room downstairs. I saw Ben and Alex and some other deltas standing there.

“Alex, she cannot go that far. It just seems like she vanished in the air,” I heard Ben say.

“what did you mean by vanished in the air?” I yelled at Ben, throwing the decoration lamp towards the wall. All my patience is gone now. My wolf is almost taking over.

‘Alpha, I think we found her. She is by the river. She smells like chocolate. She is a white wolf,’ James, one of my best trackers, mind-linked us.

‘Inform me each move she makes. I am coming. If she loses a single hair, you will be a dead man,’ I yelled in mind-link.

‘Yes, alpha!’ said James, ‘She is sitting on the riverbank’.

My wolf was relaxed. She didn’t run away after all.

“How did she run that far in this short time? Riverbank is near our border,” said Alex.

“Do you think she was trying to run away?” Ben started, and it fueled my anger.

“What do you mean she was trying to run away?” I threw Ben against the wall.

‘Alpha, we asked her to come back with us, but she ran away.’ James mind-linked, and I lost it.

‘What do you mean by run away? Track her down and bring her back,’ I yelled.

‘We tried to follow her alpha. She is so fast. We lost track of her,’ James said in an ashen tone.

“The riverbank! It's closer to Rogue Territory”, Ben said again. Rogue! No. It cannot be. I cannot lose her.

I pull the chesterfield and throw it towards the fireplace. My wolf is now in control. I don’t know what I am doing right now. I can only feel anger. Ben and Alex tried to calm me down, but nothing worked. I pinned Ben against the wall, holding his throat, choking him. I yelled at him and slapped Alex pretty hard. Suddenly I felt someone’s hand on my shoulder. The scent of chocolate hit my nostrils. I turned towards her, letting Ben go. Then I held her close and inhaled her smell to calm myself. Then I dragged her into my office. She complained I was hurting her. Once I reached my office, I closed the door and pulled her into my chest. I hugged her so tight. My wolf was relaxed.

We kissed. That was the best kiss I ever had. She was so shy. She was perfect for me. I didn’t want her to let go, but she ran out of my office. I looked at the closed door for a few more minutes and walked towards the window. I heard a knock on the door. It was Alex.

“Come in,” I said.

“Would you care to explain?” Alex asked me directly.

“Explain what?” I asked back while looking out from the window.

“Don’t play with me, Damien. You almost destroyed the whole Drawing room and your office. You almost killed your third in command. You slapped me in front of others. Just because you thought Lotus left? Tell me, Damien, what’s going on?”

I turned back and looked at him. I smiled a little, “About that, I asked Lotus to go with you to buy new furniture.”

“Are you f*****g crazy? You lost control of your wolf for that girl, Damien. Tell me your deal. Why did you pick her from her pack? You knew she is a minor.” Alex yelled at me. I can see it was not my beta standing there; it was my best friend. He was concerned and angry, just like always. I knew I could not lie to him constantly. I have to confess sooner or later.

“Damien, I know the monster, hiding inside you. I saw you growing up. I saw you becoming an Alpha. I saw you becoming Alpha Demon. But The person standing in this room right now, I haven’t seen him ever. I knew the monster inside you would never pick a minor and marry her. I knew the monster would never run away from acknowledging his wife in front of his pack. Please tell me the reason.”

“What do you think, Alex?” I asked him back.

“I want to hear it from your mouth, Damien.” He replied in an indifferent tone.

I turned back towards the window. “Yes. She is the one. She is my mate,” I said. “Alex, if any other person knows about her being my mate, she will be in grave danger. I cannot accept her right now, Alex. Any kind of affection towards her will be considered as my weakness, which will swallow her. I want her to be safe. I would have left her there if her pack were safe to live in. But it wasn’t.” I sighed.

“Does she know?” Alex asked me again.

“No”

“No? What do you mean by no?” Alex was shocked.

“I didn’t tell her. She is a minor. She cannot sense until she is sixteen. I will figure out something until then.” I confessed.

“How are you holding back, Damien?” Alex asked me. He knows how hard it is for an alpha not to mark his mate once he finds her. How am I holding back? I have no clue. I am trying to avoid her so that I don’t mark her. Whenever she is near, I only want to hold her tight. I want to kiss her again and again. I want to mark her on her neck. I want to complete the mating. But she is too young, and she looked so fragile. I didn’t answer.

“You are insane. You know that, right?” Alex chuckled.

I turned towards him and offered him a smile, “Just as much as you are”.

He walked towards me and hugged me, “I will be with you, idiot. You should have told me earlier.” He said. “I will protect her. None will know about this; I swear to you.”

I knew I could rely on my best friend. He will never bring harm to this pack or me.

“By the way, congratulations, alpha, on finding your mate,” he said with a big smile on his face, “She will be an amazing Luna, Damien.”

“I know, Alex.”
