43 Agreement.

"It's quite simply really, tell your seniors when you get back. As long as they don't show their faces during this war then your side won't have to worry about us."

Samael's words echoed through the muscular man's head a few times before he could fully digest it.

"Are serious?" He asked.

And Samael replied "Of course I am."

"..." The muscular man thought for a while, because to him, not only was Samael a powerful individual, he also seemed like a scheming person. Who knows what kind of plan is going through his head? He might attack them when they try to recover the young master.

Such thoughts occupied his mind but in the end, he couldn't just leave the young master here and let him die so he agreed. "Fine...We'll do what we can to convince our seniors. Is that enough?"

"More than enough..." Samael amiably smiled at them, which made him looked scarier.

He then stepped aside and nodded to Silvia.

At first Silvia was stunned by his words but she knew him enough to know that he wouldn't do things without a plan, it's just that she doesn't know what his plan was. That's what worries her!

But in the end she still nodded and allowed the two men to come and recover the long-haired young man.

...

After allowing the enemy cultivators to leave, Samael and Silvia went back into the gates where they were greeted by the cheers of the soldier and also the questioning gazes of the General and his friends.

He turned to them and said.

"No matter what happens next, don't interfere. It's important."

This made them looked strangely at him but without much to go on, they just gave up questioning him even further.

A few moments later, a wave of pressure bore down on everyone on the stronghold. Samael and his friends turned to the horizon where the origin of this pressure was coming from.

"It's the enemy expert..." Julian muttered, he was still alright because his cultivation level was on par with this expert but if they were to exchange blows he would be outclassed.

"So...strong..." Silvia unusually commented by no one reacted to this because anyone would be scared of this strong individual, this included her who also felt this pressure bore down on her entire body.

Countless soldiers, whether they be the guards on top of the wall or those working below, trembled and some couldn't help it anymore and their knees buckled down. They stared at the sky with fear as their eyes shake upon seeing that figure float in the skies.

"An immortal..."

One of them said. Well, it wasn't strange for them to think this as they grew up hearing stories about men with extraordinary abilities, some could cleave the mountains, others could split the seas. There will always be stories about such men what they have in common was the ability of flight and people referring to them as "Immortals."

But Samael harrumphed. "Humph..."

And from him, a huge amount of aura and momentum broke out and countered the pressure that was came down on them, relieving most of the pressure.

Black lightning, crackled all around Samael and his eyes turned sharp. Those around him, feel the changing temperature as it gradually got colder. They turned to him and felt grateful, though Julian and Lina were stronger than him in terms of Cultivation, they still hadn't learn how to focus their own aura and momentum to pressure their enemies.

So they were grateful for Samael for being their in these kinds of moments.

"Hoo~ I'm impressed a kid like you can counter the pressure I'm giving off."

Up in the skies, a man looking like he's in his late twenties looks down on them. He spoke condescendingly like he was some important person. From the pressure and aura he was putting out, Samael was sure that this man was at least someone whose at the 4-star Spiritual root realm. A powerful cultivator!

But Samael wasn't one to be outdone. "It's just a simple trick, nothing much..."

And then the man in the skies spoke. "You got guts kid, I like that. I'm Roy, head adviser of the Hundred River empire's Army. I heard you said that as long as we don't show ourselves, we wouldn't have to worry you? What can you do so late in the game?"

Hearing this man, Roy, talk as if they've already won, Samael smirked and he was reminded of a teaching his father used to say. "Assumption is the mother of all failures."

"Oh there are a lot of things we can do, just don't come crying if we pull off a victor even with our situation." Samael tauntingly said.

Then Roy responded. "Humph, I'd like to how you're going to pull a surprising win, if you're dead!"

Ha!

Roy suddenly exploded with power and he raised his hands as a huge fireball grew from his palms. Julian and Lina both held the handle of their swords and they were about to lunch a counter attack when they were stopped by a hand gesture from Samael.

They turned to him, as if asking "Are you out of your mind?" But then they remembered what Samael said earlier and they calmed down a bit.

Roy threw the fireball down, shouting "Scorching Hellfire!"

Just from the heat of this attack Samael knew that his regular Ice wall wouldn't be able to block this attack. He had to use an even stronger technique to block it...

Putting his hands down on the stone floor he too exploded with power as he executed one of his power moves.

Terminus Frozen Wrath!

Huge pillars of Ice formed and shot out from the walls of the stronghold and met the incoming ball of fire.

Boom!

As the two attacks collided there was a explosion that blew away chunks of ice and there was a huge amount of steam coming from the collision from the heat of the fireball, melting and boiling the Ice.

The Soldiers below got blown away by the shock wave. Julian and the others had to cover themselves from the blast. But luckily, no one got seriously injured, just some minor scratches caused by the chunks of Ice that was blown away.

"You're pretty good." Said Roy.

"Aren't I?" Samael replied sarcatiscally with smile before he continued "We can do this all day and you won't accomplish anything. So? How about it? Your side won't interfere with this war and our sides won't either."

Again, Samael pressed the Idea of no outside interference.

Roy frowned for a bit and asked. "How can we be sure that both sides will keep their promise."

Samael responded. "Simple really...The moment one side violates this agreement then both sides experts would have to fight it out."

Hearing this, Roy frowned even more. "Then what's the point? At some point of this war, one side will surely send out their expert to help the army. This is utter nonsense!"

But Samael smiled at him "To you it might seem nonsensical but if you think about it for a moment you'll learn that the moment both our empire's expert fight there will be deaths."

Roy then commented "That is to be expected. This is a war."

Samael gave a small laugh before continuing. "That's true...Alright, let's say we both of our sides fight. I'm not exaggerating when I say this but I can handle three of four cultivators that are below 3-Star Spiritual root realm and my companions more or less have the same capabilities. With two of them being able to keep you occupied while me and my other companions kill your people. What then?"

Hearing Samael's words, Roy found them to be fairly reasonable but still he wouldn't yield and screamed. "You're bluffing!"

To this, Samael replied with another taunting smile "Oh am I? Your juniors must've already reported to you that I was able to repel their combined strength with a single punch... and my friend here?" he then pointed to Silvia and continued. "She was the one that defeated your young master in a single bout. I think the facts speaks for themselves..."

"Grr..." Roy found it hard to refute Samael's reasoning, indeed, he had heard of what happened that led to the defeat of those three juniors of his. He found it hard to believe it, that is why he came here to take a look.

And from the moment he came here, it was always this boy, that managed to counter two of his moves. First was lessening the pressure he exerted to them and second, was the "Scorching Hellfire" attack that he used. That might not be his strongest attack but the move this boy used also might not be his strongest.

If it was then he could just kill him, here and now but it if wasn't then the scenario this boy just said earlier might come true...He couldn't gamble, no! He didn't dare to! If it does come to that point and they lose? The empire would be livid! Such a blunder would impact his family.

Gritting his teeth, Roy sighed and reluctantly spoke "Fine...you win. We agree to this arrangement. But! if your side violate you own words then we will haunt you down with all our strength."

With that, Roy turned around and flew back to their base.

Whew...

Deep inside Samael sighed a breath of relief, it looks like his bluffing worked.

...

When Roy left, the pressure he exerted was lifted and almost everyone felt like a rock was lifted from their shoulders. A lot of them fell down to their knees after the pressure was gone and they never been thankful to be alive.

Julian and the others surrounded Samael and bombarded him with questions but most of which scolding him for his reckless actions.

Samael laughed it off saying "Umm...I would like to discuss our next actions?"

And this immediately shut everyone up.

When they gathered at the General's office once again, things were a bit different. The general was looking more courageous, the First Colonel was staring at him with reverence and the Second Colonel didn't even dare to make eye contact with him.

Samael didn't mind these things and instead focused on the matter at hand.

"How much time would it take them to return to their base?"

The General turned to the First Colonel who then answered. "By horse it would take a day and a half at most but by foot it would take about three to four days."

"So we still have time then..." Samael muttered, having his finger between his lips.

"Time for what?" Julian asked. To him, Samael definitely had a plan and he wanted to know it.

"A retaliation..."

"Retaliation?! Didn't we just agreed that we wouldn't interfere?" Julian was stunned and so was everyone else.

But one calm voice entered their ears. "But that only applies to us."

Everyone turned to Silvia who spoke and then Samael stood up and walked to the map on the wall.

"Exactly...if we can rally our troops, we can immediately initiate a counter attack while the enemy is unaware."

"But, we don't have enough men and catching up to them would take a day at most and by that time, the enemy would've already reached their base." The General calmly spoke.

Samael then walked back to his seat but he didn't sat down, instead he just stood and placed his hands on the table, declaring.

"Which is why, I'm proposing a new way of fighting."

"A new way of fighting?" Everyone had the same thought but soon enough Samael spoke.

"I'll help the army build a new weapon which is important for this new way of fighting. But first I'll need to know how many blacksmith do you have in the stronghold."

This time the general didn't need to turn to First Colonel and instead it was the Second Colonel who answered. "Fifteen."

Although this surprised Samael, he just smiled, he wouldn't make any trouble with this person just because he was rude to him earlier.

He continued asking.

"What about wood? How much wood do you have?"

"Enough to make three trenches or twenty new houses."

"Metal?"

"Plenty."

"Do you Archaic beast materials?"

"We have some."

"How about arrows?"

"Our archers have huge amounts of them in the storage."

"Good."

After the fast exchange of question and answer between Samael and the Second Colonel. Samael pulled out a pen and paper, his hands moved at fast speeds that black lightning occasionally crackles around it.

Those around him, gathered and saw what he was drawing. It was carriage, a strange one, it had no roof and only had two wheels. Then it was a strange, new crossbow. The design was simple and the moment they saw it unfold before their very eyes they immediately knew that this would definitely change the way war is waged.

It didn't take long for Samael to finish drawing what he was drawing. He then presented it to the general. The two colonels also took a look and their faces slowly turned to that off shock and excitement. The General then turned to Samael and asked calmly.

"What are these? I have never seen a carriage like this before. And this weapon...what is it?"

He already expected this question but he was still excited to explain.

"First of all, that is not a carriage, it's called a 'Chariot', I designed it to be able to carry three men and pulled by four horses. The second one is called a 'Crossbow', well to be specific, a 'Repeating Crossbow' with some changes i put in..." Samael happily explained.

The he continued.

"Each Chariot would be equipped with two Repeating Crossbow, though the range of this new weapon for longer shooting will be hindered because is it being mounted onto the chariot, it is still more than effective to for shooting down enemies.

With this new weapon we'll be able shoot down more enemies, faster than they can shoot their arrows. This will change the entire situation of the war, not just here in the eastern front but all the area where war is being waged."

Samael's eyes burned with excitement. This was something he was looking forward since the day he learned that the overall situation between the kingdoms got more unstable because of the phenomenon he created when he landed.

This is his own way of paying Princess Lina back for taking him in. He would make her country stronger!
