11 Who Is This Child's Father?

In the Radiology department.

Little 4th sat in a chair next to Qin Jie.

He looked utterly adorable in his little hospital gown that was too big for him.

The radiographer asked Qin Jie various questions about Little 4th's health.

Once the radiographer was finished he left.

Qin Jie looked at the little bun curiously: "Little 4th, why did you answer questions for Dr. Li but ignore the radiographer?"

Little 4th spoke with certainty: "Because she's going to be my sister from now on."

Qin Jie "..."

Little 4th wanted the dishevelled frog to be his sister?

In the not so distant future, Qin Jie would look back at this moment and wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry at how accurate little 4th's words proved to be. But that's a story for another time.

Little 4th had his scan done.

He stayed in his gown as Qin Jie picked him up and carried him back to the room.

Qin Jie opened the room door to see chaos.

Dr. Fu Meng and Dr. Cheng Wu were lying on the floor in tiny pools of blood. Director Bing was rocking himself back and forth in a chair sobbing and muttering "I didn't know."

Little 4th eyes went wide in shock.

Qin Jie: "What's going on?" He asked no-one in particular.

Li Xiuying: "They fainted."

Three black lines appeared on Qin Jie's forehead. 'That wasn't what I was asking!'

He looked to his twin who looked at him.

Qin Jie read his Qin Xian Jun's eyes "I'll tell you later."

They always could understand each other, even without speaking. It was their weird Twin ESP.

Li Xiuying went over to the computer on the side. She pulled up Qin Zhen's Scans.

Li Xiuying faced the Qin's: "He has appendicitis, I propose doing surgery - a laparoscopic appendectomy. I think his past abdominal pain was also due to appendicitis but it presented atypically and resolved by itself hence is was missed."

Li Xiuying "Two has already prepped the theater. I'll just need his parent or legal guardian to sign the consent form."

Qin Song coldly said: "Thank you for all you have done. But how can we trust you with Little 4th's life?"

Li Xiuying frowned. She walked over to her rucksack and pulled out a stack of papers and an ID badge. She handed her ID badge and her certificate of qualification for pediatric surgery.

Qin Song looked at the ID badge and the certificate. He then peered over to the stack of paper in Li Xiuying's hands. They were all certificates for various specialties. He was stunned.

Qin Song was currently standing like a statue in front of Li Xiuying. She carefully took back her things from Qin Song without touching him.

She put her things back in her bag.

Li Xiuying: "As I was saying I'll need consent for the procedure."

Li Xiuying turned to Qin Song. "Are you Qin Zhen's father?"

Qin Song finally returned to being a human. He frowned at her question.

She turned to Qin Zhen who was seated once again in his bed with Qin Jie and Qin Xian Jun on either side.

She pointed at Qin song:" Is he not your father?"

Qin zhen shook his head.

Li Xiuying then pointed to both the twins: " Are either of them your father?"

Qin Zhen shook his head once again.

Li Xiuying shook her head. 'Why was no one here this child's father?'

Elder Qin cleared his throat.

Li Xiuying turned to Elder Qin, that's right Elder Qin! She had completely forgotten about him.

Li Xiuying: "Do you know how to get in contact with Qin Zhen's father or mother?"

The four Qin brothers "...."

Elder Qin: " Yes, I'm his father"

Li Xiuying: "Yes, I understand Elder Qin is Qin Zhen's grandfather but I would like to get in contact with his father or his mother if possible. Or could you possibly ask them to come to the hospital?"

Elder Qin subconsciously touched his right cheek. He felt as is his face had been slapped.

Little 4th smiled and giggled slightly.

Little 4th: "Dr Li, he's my daddy." He pointed at Elder Qin.

Xiuying followed where the little stubby finger was pointing.

She looked at elder Qin, then looked behind him making sure no-one was there and then looked back at elder Qin.

She then analysed elder Qin from head to toe, and back up again at which point her eyes were looking at his lap with a look of confusion.

Li Xiuying pondered to herself: "Elder Qin is so old. How did he produce a 4 year old?"

All of a sudden there was a bright light of inspiration that flashed across her eyes.

Li Xiuiyng mumbled: "Pills."

Elder Qin felt like he was going to vomit blood.

Li Xiuying explained the procedure and possible complications once again and had Elder Qin sign.

Elder Qin signed the consent form. Little 4th had a frustrated look on his face and was staring at the consent form.

Li Xiuying then gave the pen to Qin Zhen and told him were to sign his name. His eyes began shinning with glee as he signed his name.

Two called the theater and told them they were on their way.

Qin Jie carried and put Little 4th in the bed waiting outside the room. All the other Qin's followed.

They wheeled him towards the operating theater.

Li Xiuying: "All of you have to wait in the waiting area."

One and two followed Li Xiuying into the anesthetics room.

It had only been 25 minutes when Li Xiuying walked out of the operating theater.

One and Two followed behind with dazed looks on their faces.

Li Xiuying "Sorry it took so long, these two held me up."

Li Xiuying walked away and back towards little 4th's private hospital room to change.

....

In the waiting area the Qin family stood there shocked.

Elder Qin approached the 2 doctors.

Elder Qin Anxiously asked: "Is Little 4th okay? What happened in there? Why are you all out so quickly? Where's little 4th?! "

One snapped out of his daze first " Dr. Li is unbelievable, she anesthetized the little master herself and then completed the actual surgery in 10 minutes. I've never seen such skillful hands. I would chop off my right arm to have a thousandth, no... no... one millionth of her skill!"

Two also came back to reality "She is my idol. The fastest I've ever done an appendectomy is 17 minutes and 30 seconds. How can someone's hands move so quickly. The procedure was textbook. I only blinked 3 times during the operation fearing I would miss something! "

Qin family: "..."

What more was there to say?

In the private hospital room.

Li Xiuying had showered and got changed back into her mud covered clothes. She felt disgusting having to put back on her muddy clothes but she didn't have any other options.

She put on her shoes, grabbed her rucksack and was about to leave when the room started spinning before her eyes. It then turned pitch black.
