14 Chapter Fourteen: Heavenly Torture

As I lay on the ground, I feel myself going in and out of consciousness.

"Daichi!" I heard the voice of the woman I've come to love yell for me.

"Let's go, everyone retreat!"

That was the last thing I heard the hooded figure say, before I blacked out yet again.

*Unknown Time*

"Why're you doing this dad?!"

"Because, my love knows no bounds, and I will do whatever I can to make sure what I love survives."

*Present*

I awaken with a piercing headache, again unable to decipher what my vision means. There is the harsh feeling of a hand on my face as I'm forced awake.

Now face to face with my attacker, he looks to be three times my age, anger present in his eyes. Frown lines etched into his face, before he smiles, whispering something under his breath.

"Who are you?" The man asks me. He yanks at the chain around my neck, making me choke slightly.

"Who are you?" I retaliate, answering his question with one of my own.

He grabs at the chain against my hands, yanking those as well.

"Let me tell you a story. This is the story about a God, a God who was the beginning. Beginning of all life and all knowledge. He was the creator of all things known and unknown."

Again my captor yanks at my chains.

"He has created for himself, children, and those children worshipped and praised as his feet. What his children didn't know, was that he was a lonely God. Desperate for affection, he fell for one of his other creations. A human child, one that led a hard life like not other human. He took pity on her and saved her from her affliction, she became the first angel. A human that was granted the gifts of a god. His children became furious. How could their love not be enough? Consumed by rage, they decided that if their love was not enough, then no one else should be deserving of his love, and so he was betrayed by his own children."

I stared at him wide eyed. It was so similar to the story Emiya had told me. I was really a child of the creator.

Out of anger, he punched me in the stomach. My body lurches forward in agony. His hit was worse than Benson's.

"Now, who are you? You smell like him."

Tears well in my eyes, pain shooting through me.

"I'm no one special," I tell him.

"I know when I'm being lied to. We are in the heavenly realm, and lies are not treated too kindly here. Torture here, is far worse than anything you'll encounter in hell. Unlike hell, the heavens is no place for lies."

I know I should be, but I'm not afraid. Maybe Orth was right, and I am an idiot, but I also don't care. There is more pain in my captor's eyes then I've seen in quite some time. Why was a god in heaven so angry? Shouldn't he be happier. I don't know much, but I always assumed heaven was a place of peace.

I stay silent, not sure what else to say.

"Since you wish to be silent, then I will have you beaten until you lips are loosened. Guard! Bring me Bishamonten! Bring me, the Dragon God of War"

All color drains from my face. Now I am afraid.
