"I'll take her!" seeing someone walking straight into his trap, Zhang Xuan's eyes lit up.

As Lu Fengyi continued to flatter Zhang Xuan, Wing Ying's realised quickly that this teacher that she had found randomly in a classroom must be a great teacher, however did not like publicity and hence was allocated this tiny classroom. Seeing the boy's eyes of admiration only furthered confirmed her guess.

"Alright calm down first! Just because you're rushing me like this doesn't mean I'll accept you. Please give your name and why I should take you as my student." Zhang Xuan held out a hand to stop the boy from further praising him. Although Zhang Xuan was elated that a student would come and seek him at his time of need, he knew of his past-self's reputation, making this boy suspicious. After all, no one in the right mind would seek out the teacher who had scored zero in the teacher's examination.

Lu Fengyi composed his emotions before answering, "My name is Lu Fengyi. All the other teachers didn't want to accept me because of my overwhelming talent so I beseech teacher to take me in!"

Zhang Xuan raised his eyebrow with a questioning expression, "If you're so talented, why didn't you go to Lu Xun laoshi instead? He's the most renowned teacher in this academy as well as the star teacher."

While Zhang Xuan's outer expression seemed to be of a refined expert, he was grinning from ear to ear on the inside, 'Who would have thought that just as I needed a student one would pop out of nowhere. Even if he's the worse student of the batch, I need to take him in!'

Lu Fengyi ran numerous excuses through his mind before settling on one of them, "I've spoken to Lu Xun laoshi already, however he said that my overall rank was too low for him to teach. During the exam, I answered every single theory-based question perfectly, however due to my lack of background, I have not progressed much on the cultivation side of things, hence why my rank is quite low."

Wang Ying's eyes constricted with surprise. One must know that even those who had come within the top ten of the examination would not have even come close to scratching the perfect 100% mark for the theory section, not to mention her who had come 67th. During the theory part, she knew that the examiner had even chosen some of the easier question and yet she was unable to answer some of them. Even if the examiner had chosen the easiest questions for this boy, it would still be a grand feat to ace it.

"Uhm... ahh... Fellow student, can you give an example of the harder questions you got?" Wang Ying, who was usually quite docile and never took the initiative to ask questions could not hold back her curiosity.

Lu Fengyi thought for a while before answering, "The exact wording, I do not remember, however the question went something along the lines of, give your best interpretation of circulating a cycle of qi, reflecting the sight of ten thousand creations."

Wang Ying scoured her memory for the phrase. It had not appeared within the questions she had been asked in the examination, nor had she been taught it, however she knew that she had heard it somewhere before. Seconds after, Wang Ying reeled back in shock as she realised where she had heard the question before. Several days ago, she had seen her family's grand elder stumped on interpreting a phrase, muttering the phrase over and over until he had finally given up. Upon asking the elder what he had been thinking about, she had been able to catch a glimpse of the phrase.

Now this Lu Fengyi in front of her had just said that not only had he been asked this question during the examination, he had even answered it perfectly! How inconceivable was this?

Although his past self had been quite the useless teacher, Zhang Xuan, through the existing memories, was still able to know quite a fair bit about the student examination. Lu Fengyi nodded, grinning broadly, "Thank you teacher!"

Zhang Xuan passed a jade token to Lu Fengyi before instructing him to drip blood upon the token, "Alright, our student teacher relationship has been verified. Lessons will start tomorrow so take your identity token and claim your bedding and books."

Lu Fengyi bowed deeply before hurrying off towards the main hall once more. Zhang Xuan sighed internally, 'Who would have thought that getting a student would be so easy.'

Zhang Xuan turned to Wang Ying once more, "So as I was saying. You want to take Lu Xun laoshi as your teacher?"

Seeing that even one with such terrifying theoretical knowledge crave for this teacher's guidance, Wang Ying made a quick decision, "No teacher, I wish to come under your guidance!"

Zhang Xuan nodded gently as he passed a jade token towards Wang Ying.
