49 Preparation for Yuko's birthday

The next day

Morning

"Let's plan now before the bell rang." Hisako said

"Yeah!" Mikio said

"First we need to buy decorations and ingredients." Hisako said

"But we can leave it to Yuko's parents." Mikio said

"Yeah" Hisako said

"Then, we will do is decorations and Hisako and as always we will make a cake." Mikio said

"Yeah, later we will go buy ingredients." Hisako said

"The decorations... we will leave it to Tomio, Masayoshi, Hisashi, Junko and Kamiko." Mikio said

"Yeah!" Tomio and others said

Lunch break

"After we make the cake we will deliver it to Yuko's mother to keep it. After the decorations is done we will decorate the house." Mikio said

"Who will make a banner?" Hisako said

"The girls will make it." Tomio said

"Okay! It's decided" Hisako said

"Flowers and other decorations will be on the boys." Mikio said

"Other girls will help too." Hisako said

"Yeah" the girls said

After school

They go in mall

"Then, we will go in this way." Hisako said

"Yeah!" Kamiko said

Junko felt jealous and they go in different path.

While Hisako and Mikio

"We need is baking powder, milk, egg and others." Hisako said

"Yeah" Mikio said

"We are going to do it later and deliver it." Hisako said

"Yeah" Mikio said

"Where are we going to make it?" Hisako said

"At my house right? Or you want to make it to your house?" Mikio said

"At your house will be okay" Hisako said

"I see" Mikio said

While Tomio and others

"We will buy color paper, glue and others." Kamiko said

"Yeah" Tomio said

"After to buy this we need to make decorations and deliver it." Masayoshi said

"Yeah" Junko said

While Hisako and Mikio

"This is all?" Miko said

"Yeah, that's all" Hisako said

"Let's go now! It's already 6 pm." Mikio said

"Yeah, we will take long in making the cake." Hisako said

"Yeah" Mikio said

At Mikio's house

"Sorry for intrusion!" Hisako said

"I'm home!" Mikio said

"Welcome home" Mikio's mother said

Mikio's mother saw Hisako

"Oh! You visit us again" Mikio's mother said

"We are going to make cake again to our friend's birthday" Hisako said

"I see…go now" Mikio's mother said

"Thank you" Hisako said

They go in kitchen

"First let's beat butter and shortening at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add sugar, beating until blended. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating just until blended." Hisako said

They do it and after few minutes they done doing it.

"After that combine cake flour and next 3 ingredients; add to butter mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Beat at low speed until blended after each addition. Stir in vanilla." Mikio said

They pour 7 cups batter into a greased and floured 13- x 9-inch pan, reserving remaining 1 cup batter.

After few minutes

They done doing it.

"Next is bake at 350° for 35 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack 15 minutes; remove from pan, and cool completely on wire rack." Hisako said

They put it inside the oven and bake it.

"Then, the next is putting icing and design" Mikio said

"Yeah, leave the design on me!" Hisako said

"Then, I'll put icing" Mikio said

"Yeah" Hisako said

Mikio put an icing.

After few minutes

Mikio finished putting icing to the cake.

"I'll put design on it" Hisako said

"Yeah" Mikio said

Hisako put the design and after few minutes they done doing it.

"Done!" Hisako and Mikio said

They look at each other

"Let's deliver it to Yuko's mother" Mikio said

"Yeah" Hisako said

"Take care!" Mikio's mother said

While they are walking

Hisako is grinning.

"What are you grinning for?" Mikio said

"I'm just excited for tomorrow. I'm excited to see Yuko-chan happy." Hisako said

"Me too I'm so excited" Mikio said

At Yuko's house

"Oh! You two has already done?" Yuko's mother said

"Yes" Hisako said

"I see" Yuko's mother said

Hisako give the cake to Yuko's mother

"I'll put it to refrigerator" Yuko's mother said

"Yes" Hisako said

"Yuko is surely curious why we didn't visit her" Mikio said

"Ah! That's right!" Hisako said

After few minutes

Kamiko and others arrive

"Here is the decorations" Tomio said

"Okay, let's put decoration now" Mikio said

They go inside and they started to put decorations

After 30 minutes

They finish putting decorations.

"Done!" Everyone said

"Looking forward for tomorrow" Kamiko said

"Yeah" Everyone said

Mikio take Hisako home. Tomio take Kamiko home. Junko, Masayoshi and Hisashi go home alone.
