35 Disparity

The small group inside the Alchemy Tower were furiously discussing wether to swallow the product of alchemy or to write a complex essay on how to create it. Both parties had their fair benefits, if they drank it they would gain power and if they wrote the process down they would get fame and could perhaps reproduce their succes with new funds that they would earn.

As they were discussing what to do next the liquid inside the goblet like structure was slowly gaining conciousness. But that wasn't all there was, many people inside the academy were now fully concentrating on their suroundings. They were still unsure of what had happened but they would discover it soon enough.

Farsian and Angelica were also hurrying towards the Alchemy Tower, as they were both vampires with excellent bodys they could cross great distances at a rapid pace. Soon they would all meet.

Farsian had this feeling that something that was conected to fate would await him there, what ever it was he would propably benefit greatly from it. He had only just entered the academy and was supposed to check in first before he went of on his own.

'Damn what is this thing? I can clearly feel the magic fluctuating in that direction.' Farsian thought.

He didn't have the time to walk slowly or follow the path to get to his goal so he instead started jumping and sprinting where he had to. At the moment he was at the lower part of the castle if he went with the stairs upwards towards the bridge that connected the Alchemy Tower and the main building he would take forever, so he decided that he would walk outside the building. While the walls were rather high and steep he could still climb them with ease. He used all kinds of triks that he could think of to get faster, sometimes he even almost fell to his death. He was risking it all now.

Angelica on the other hand had a much easyer time she was supposed to go to the dragons that naturally lived high up so she only had to go downwards. While she didn't follow the supposed path as well she merely jumped a few stairs down and started trotting slightly, she didn't even break a sweat as she hurried towards her destination. The other people that she was passing by feelt awed by her perfection, she was fast and elegant as she hurried along.

The Liquid inside the goblet was now almost fully concient and could very well think for himself, as such he soon realized his peculiar state. While he didn't realize everything that went on he at least understood that he had no arms or legs and no eyes to see with, therefore everything was rather dark to him. It was an isolated existence that had no connection with anything else but at least it could think and if it tryed hard enough it could also vibrate slightly, everytime it did the people in the room would hold their breath for a second before continuing with their discussion.

While the Liquid had no eyes to see or ears to hear it could feel the vibrations in the air produced by their language, it was a rather fast learner and soon understood them almost fluently. What it did not understand was why it was so different from them, as they talked it soon understood that they had created it so why did they feel so different? As it questioned its own reality over and over again it quickly realized that it had other abilitys besides shaking a little bit, if it wanted it could spread its power thin and cover the room with its own mana. It was like the echo ability of a bat except that the mana had a connection with the Liquid and would move more like a fog that told its owner all the movements inside it. That way the Liquid soon learned of its surroundings, it was an old room with many strange equipments inside it. There were bottles and tables around that were set up in a specific order, at the end of which the gobled had stood.

*Knock, Knock!

"Who is there?" Joker asked as he heard the knocks on the door, he was sure he had payed the guards to keep all trouble away so why was there someone knocking on his door?

"Your Mama, open up!" Joker knew this voice it was one of the guards he had payed before hand.

"What do you want?!" Joker shouted back, without opening the door ofcourse. He had payd the guard to not ask questions, not because he trusted him. If he opened the door and the guard went inside to look around he would be screwed.

"I want more money! The higher ups are starting to investigate what is happening here, listen I don't know what you guys are doing in there but if you want me to lie to a higher up you have to pay more!" The guard shouted back a bit irritated.

As Joker heard this his face started to pale, they didn't have more money. And even if they did why would they waste it on a guard? If the higher ups from the academy got involved a single guard couldn't do much anyways, they would buy a ship to flee the island instead!

As Joker turned around to look at his companions he saw that they also had started to pale slightly.

"Shit never expected it to turn out this way." Piggy said with a grunt. He walked towards the door and slamed it shut, the guard wasn't prepared for that and stumbled backwards as his nose got smashed by the huge door frame.

"I will remember this!" He screamed as he came back to his senses and ran away.

"Great, what now?" Joker asked with a slight annoyance, had he known things would turn out this way he would have stayed at home.

"We have to leave! Quickly!" The Professor said as he ignored the liquid entirely.

The Mountain also moved towards the door. Piggy gave the small goble of liquid a small glance full of longing but in the end decided against it and moved towards the door as well.

Only Joker didn't seem willing to just leave it behind and turned around to take it with him.

"Don't do that they will track us down if we carry it with us!" Piggy said as he gasped for air, he wasn't used to such exercise.

"Mind your own business." Joker said not willing to back down.

The Professor gave a slight wink to Mountain and he moved up to Joker picking him up forcefully and leaving the lab as soon as possible.

"Mountain you cheater! If you were my size I would stomp you in the ground!" Joker lamented as he got carried away.

Meanwhile in a big meeting room in the center of the castle a group of 6 were sitting around a long table furiously discussing something with each other.

"Shut up! Never before have I been so insulted in my life!" One of them screamed at the top of his lungs as he stood up and slammed his fist down on the table. A imprint of his fist could be seen on the stone table as well as some cracks that spread out like a spider web.

"Everyone calm down." A calm voice albeit somewhat angry was heard from another individual that sat on the table. Her voice was gentle but firm, it seemed that she had seen much in life and would not be easy to anger. For someone like her to feel even slightly pissed was unheard of.

"How should we calm down if there are illegal experiments taking place in the alchemy tower?! Those thugs are disrespecting us, they think we haven't noticed but the only reason that we haven't done something is that we can't decide the punishment!" Another angry voice sounded out.

"Who said something about punishment? I am in favor of ignoring it... they haven't done any harm and are far to weak to try anything succesfull." A bemused voice rang out, one of the few that were in favor of ignoring the incident and also one of the more powerfull vampires in the covenant.

"SPARE THEM?!" Now everyone except the final one were standing upright glaring daggers at each others throats, all that was missing was the final spark to ignite a battle that would terminate the whole area on which the castle was build.

"I say let's leave it to the youngsters. There seem to be some talented individuals that are chasing after the magic fluctuations without knowing what they are hunting, let's wait and see what happens." Erebos said, the only one that was still calmly sitting in his place without any anger what so ever. It felt like they had been arguing for ages and this man just said in a flat manner of fact that they should just drop it all.

"ENOUGH!!!" A scream rang out and all the vampire counts started to take it out themselfes.

But the destruction of the castle that was supposed to follow didn't come. The shockwaves of their fight are battering against the walls but for some odd reason the walls dont break, instead they bend beyond compare as if they were made out of rubber or jelly. Every impact is perfectly absorbed by the walls, it seems that such incidents have happened multiple times in history and that someone has taken precautions against similar accidents.

"Hahaha!" A hearty laugh escaped Erebos lips as he sat there watching magic spells, fists and even fangs fly through the air like there was no tomorrow.

Soon chaos started to envelop the room and everyone completly forgot why they were fighting in the first place.

Farsian soon came towards the window of the alchemy room that the goblet was inside of, but before he could enter it he heard the door swing open with much force.

Someone was there before him, who could it be? Farsian didn't dare to reveal himself as he had the feeling that it had to be someone stronger than him. To his surprise he heard the panting of a female voice that was all to familiar to him. Angelica! She somehow managed to be faster than him and beat him to the chase.

"Who are you?" A voice resounded inside his head, but it was not Angelica that was speaking to him it was something else that appeared to be without gender or age. Farsian didn't reply and instead only prepared to jump inside at a moments notice, he was after all still oath bound towards Angelica, if something were to happen he could never forgive himself for not helping out.

But there was no fight that followed, instead a feminine voice said "Who is speaking in my mind?".

A long silence followed after that, and then the voice spoke again "Can't you see me? I'm in your hands inside this small container." Farsian was confused as he heard the voice say that it was in his hands, he looked at his hands and then at the wall just to be sure that he wasn't missing something. Was it an accident that he could hear the voice, or did it speak to everyone in range? If so then didn't that mean that everyone could hear the voice right now?

Farsian started to panik slightly if everybody would come here then there would be nothing left for him to take. He heard a metalic sound as something hit the ground, as soon as he heard that he sprung upwards and into the window ready to defend his maker at all cost necessary.

"Farsian! It's you? How did you get here?" Angelica said as she saw someone jump inside from the window as she dropped the gobblet out of shock. "I heard a voice in my head and decided to come here to help you." Farsian said, even if he was oath bound that didn't mean that he had to speak the truth every time especially not if nobody comanded him to do so.

"So you could also hear it? How far were you away?" Angelica said as she picked up on the possible dangers that would follow with it.

She looked down at the spilled liquid, deciding that she was going to take a small sip and then run as fast as she could.

Farsian just stood there watching her pick up the gobblet from the Ground and drinking the small amount of liquid that was left, after wich she turned around and left. "Well it could have been worse." The voice in his head said. As Farsian heard the voice he realized something, there was still some liquid left that he could consume before someone came to check on the cause for this voice in their heads. He knealt down and picked the gobblet up, drinking what ever remained of the liquid inside it. As he did so he fealt something entering him, something with a conciousness and lots and lots of raw power for him to use. As he fealt this he heard steps outside the door that were coming closer, deciding not to stay any longer he jumped out of the window. A jump that would normally not end with just a broken bone. As Farsian saw the ground coming closer and closer he fealt stronger than ever before. Farisan slammed his claws in the wall and slowed his fall down by a lot, but before he reached the ground he lost conection with the wall and pummeled down again.

*BOOM! a loud echo could be heard as dust rose up from the ground where Farsian hit the earth.
