34 A New Power Awakens

*ROOOOAAAARRRR!!!

A giant roar could be heard outside the castle as the sea creature got beaten into submission by Erebos the counselor of the Covenant of Mern. Soon the creature no longer tried to resist and instead gave in to the greater power that was hovering in the air.

Above the castle a few dragons soared in the sky watching the spectacle with amusement. They once ruled this isle and were called Mern Dragons. Their speciality was that they were no mindles raging dragons that didn't even understand the common tounge, but instead rather inteligent beings.

They could easely tell after a few battles against the order of Vampires that they stood no chance against their numbers and might.

Soon they decided that it would be better to ally themselves with this foreign power, and now they are living a comfortable live in which they get to eat giant meat scewers with seasoning and sleep inside the stone towers of the castle. But that was long ago, luckly neither the vampires nor the dragons had short live spans. While a dragon was not immortal it certainly outlived a human kingdom or empire.

But underneath all this joy and fun there was something that would soon try to awaken, those that had high magic afinity had allready recognized that something was wrong.

In the castle where the secretariat was there were now about 500 new vampires that wanted to join the covenant. One of them was Farsian, he stood close to Joelle and the other people that arrived with him here on this isle. There was no order and everyone just stood loosely in this giant hall that looked like it could contain at least double the ammount of people present. At the front something like a line could be seen where every vampire just tried to line up and enter the door, unfortunately there were now multiple lines because people couldn't decide on who goes first thus slowing down the process even more. At the door there was a sign that read *Secreteriat Dragonborn" when the younger vampires read dragon... they allready started talking about the dragons that they saw flying outside. Others weren't as lucky to actually see the dragons as everybody came on different times and on different boats, these people were usually quite interested in the storys about a dragon.

Farsian and Joelle were pretty far in the back as their ship arrived late, but they didn't really care as it looked like there was nothing to be done about it anyways. Instead the vampires that arrived with Farsian were talking to one another about the misterious man that floated in the sky and other things of common interest.

But Farsian was rather silent he had this odd sensation as if something was about to happen.

"Joelle I think I need to go somewhere really quick, I can't explain it to you right now but I feel like I have to go now." Farsian said as he turned around to face Joelle.

"Haha, is it about your maker? What was her name, Angelica? I told you that you propably just imagined that." Joelle replied, when they got here Farsian was talking to her about Angelica and that he wanted to meet her.

"No, I really saw her! But this is about something else, see you in a bit." Without waiting for a reply Farsian started to jog in the general direction of the Alchemical Tower.

On the other end of the castle a group of female vampires walked together towards where the

dragons would sleep at, they did so regularly and were allready quite confortable with the way there.

"Angelica do you think Rob would let us fly on his back again?" One of the females said, her voice almost melodic with a tinge of happines. All the vampires in the group seemed to anticipate their short visit at the dragons place, all wore happy faces and laughed happily.

All but one...

"Angelica? Is something the matter?" One of Angelicas friends said.

"No, I'm allright why do you ask?" Angelica replied with a stiff smile.

"You seem so abcent minded, is it about your fledgeking that came here today?"

"Yes, yes that one. I remember you talking about him. What was his name again? Farsian?"

The girls started to chat again this time their topic shifted from the dragons and centered about Angelica and her little boy. As they started to tease her a little bit Angelica stopped in her tracs and turned around.

"Wait, where are you going? We were just making fun!"

"Yeah, please don't leave it's more fun when we go to the dragons together!" Her friends started to jell after her.

"Don't worry we can go there together another time, I just feel like I really need to be somewhere right now." Angelica shouted without even turning back and started to jog in the direction of the Alchemy Tower.
